Good point. Since nobody's done any NL recreations yet I think I'll give it a go. -

Congratulations on getting it right! I definitely thought you had the right idea when I saw it! Hmmmm.... I wonder why the model has 4-across seating. Maybe this was the initial model before they settled on the design for the trains? Or is it possible that the trains could be different from the renderings? Any clue as to the cost of that model & wether or not KD will be selling it in their shops? I wouldn't mind having that bad boy in my bedroom, that is if there's enough space in there to assemble it of course. -

Yes, they also forgot to diagram the huge garden gnomes, tunnel of fire, and Papa Smurf as the ride op. I'm sure they'll get around to it though. You don't take the whole ride at 90+MPH. Anyone notice the pond in the animations? I guess they ran out of gravy & so the splashdown was cancelled ' -

^^I'm liking the looks of that design & wouldn't mind downloading it if you decide to release it. -

ET is 330 ft. tall & the job description is for someone willing to climb to heights of at least 350 ft. which is 20 ft. taller than ET is. We'll all find out in less than 24 hours when this beast is finally announced & I can't wait. -

Perhaps I'll start work on a new version of the ride & replace some of the elements in the original with something different? -

Looks like a turn or helix may be going there. -

I disagree completely. I dont think sitting in a hyper train is all that different from a floorless, I dont think floorless is any more terrifying and the experience is not that similar to an invert. Floorless trains are just a gimmick to me. Having ridden Dominator several times the whole "floorless" aspect of the ride has no real impact on me but the ride quality sure does. Tax breaks don't apply to the manufacturers because it's a state tax matter....B&M are still gonna demand a higher price for a mega coaster than for say a looper or even a small invert. -

Perhaps they're getting a hyper lite? seeing as how KD's coaster is certainly more than double the $11 million price tag that CW's is. -

One more day until people complain about how it's not tall, long, or fast enough. I'm betting that not enough airtime will be the #1 complaint. That & no gravy splashdown finale. -

Because KD's is the more expensive of the two additions that's why I suppose. -

I'm not seeing where he's being defensive. He honestly thought it was good in his eyes. Saying you're not trying to be a prick, comes off as "prickish." Thanks,I've seen plenty of that sort of nonsensical behavior on other boards with regards to people criticizing the work of others when it's only a computer game. I suppose if I uploaded my RCT2 park I'd get blamed for using too many of the pre-built coasters & not enough custom layouts. -
Instead of going for a twister style layout start off with an out & back so that you can get the hang of the editor....believe me I know that making curves & trying to keep the G's to acceptable levels is not easy(see my Behemoth & Thunder Road coasters two examples of this) but it can be done. Like me you must be relatively new to NL so figuring out the complex geometrics of track design is probably frustrating you & getting negative reviews is even more annoying but don't worry about what others think of your designs because in the end that's what they are "your" designs & nobody else's.

RCT4?
KDCOASTERFAN replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
That was the plan originally as far back as RCT1 but CS decided not to go with it in the end.As for RCT4 coming out FORGET IT Atari had said long ago that RCT3 & it's two EP's were to be the LAST games of that franchise. -

Just the same as KD having a larger population base to draw from than carowinds....I wouldn't exactly count CWL in this debate since it IS a canadian park, not a continental US one. -

^I tried fixing that odd twist in the area where the OBT connects but because it had been AHG'd beforehand I couldn't get past that so that was the end result. If only there was a way of building backwards & then forwards from the station(similar to RCT2) it would make designing the final brakeruns much easier but currently there's no way(that I know of at least) that this can be done. -

KDCOASTERFAN replied to KDCOASTERFAN's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I did do a lot of extensive testing & even modified the turn into the station because the brakerun was too short to bring the train to a full stop to avoid a crash....I was going to use the pre-fab A-frame supports & add to them but they ended up overlapping so I went with the supports that are in the finished design for the tophat. Finally I DID attempt to use continuous roll when I felt it was needed but doing turns isn't easy...the camelbacks aren't pre-fabs they're done by hand & compared to my earlier coasters I think it turned out pretty good despite the G spikes in some areas. -

I used the pre-fab tophat & only one element from another coaster, the OBT. For cripe sake it's hard enough doing the free-hand work as it is. -
