  1. Replies: DBru: Thanks kraken613: Thanks Steffen_DK: Thanks Right Kyle here. I'm very glad to say that I was there for opening day and it was a great success. The park was pretty packed despite being so small and by the looks of it a lot more came than planned. Anyways onto the pictures. (OOC: I'm presenting this in a TPR TR format so here we go). Well we left pretty early in the morning to be there for around about opening time. As we approached the park traffic was pretty light and some new signs were put up to announce the park to passers by. The carpark however was quite packed with some buses and coaches as well Heading towards the ticket booths to pick up our Gold Staff Passes or something like that (basically a season ticket which also allows 3 free rides on the go karts each visit. Pretty cool if you ask me) you could see how packed the place was gonna be as the gates opened. And yes for some reason it had a heavy downpour for about 15 minutes as everyone was getting into the park. These are the ticket prices for anyone interested by the way. interestingly enough though theres no season ticket and yes the go karts are a up charge attraction unfortunately. After getting the ticket we made our way to the go karts which already had people there. This little food outlet (called Pit Stop I think) provided me with some quick food as I was starving (forgot my breakfast you see). Well the go karts were really good fun and I used all 3 of my free tickets at once but it was worth it. heres 2 shots form the track side. Moving into the park itself we made our way to the merry Go Round plaza where we grabbed a burger at Barry's Burger Bar. After the burger we grabbed some candy floss form the building across the plaza. Then we went on the Merry Go Round and the Swinger before heading over to the Spiral Slide. The Swinger was fun but I didn't go much on the Spiral Slide. I think I'm too old though. Also on a side note I'd like to say all the staff were really happy and friendly. i don't know whether it was because it was the first day or not but they were really friendly. The red building is the lost ad found as well as first aid just so you know. Then we moved onto the bumper boats leaving the best till last. Now despite this ride only being a scrambler, Fireball was really really fun. The pillars as theming were great as it get on providing the feeling that you were going to hit them with every turn. Definitely my favourite ride. Heres some pictures of the ride. Unfortunately we then had to leave as we had to be home for my football practice but I enjoyed myself here. I will say however that while the park is nice it lacks any real thrills. I mean I know the park was on a tight budget but it could have added a small coaster or something. The go karts and Fireball were really good but we need something bigger here. Till next time and I hope you enjoyed the Trip Report. Kyle
  2. I like the park and the last ride but I think it needs to be themed better. At the moment it seems you've just chosen 2 or 3 mine buildings and just plopped them down. Howe about some fake rocks or something around it? Cheers 89James89
  3. Omg its finally back yay! The concept art looks sweet but don't you already have a log flume lol? Cheers 89James89
  4. Right this is the last update I will get before the opening of this park. Of course I will be there for the opening but right now I have some very important and happy news. The go kart track concepts that seemed to interest everyone is now reality. As last time we saw a shell of what we expected was the go kart building this photo now released show that it definitely was the building. though no inside shots yet. Moving into the park we can see progress on one of the sites form last time just inside the entrance. This is apparently going to be a lockers and info building. As you can also see the entrance path looks a lot nicer as well now. Moving to the Merry Go Round area we see the other building in the form of Barry's Burger Bar a food outlet for the park (but don't worry the food will apparently be really nice). Also this area has been beautified. And lastly we can see the next ride to be completed and shown in the form of Fireball. Looks pretty sweet if you ask me always love these fairground twister rides. Well thats all for now hope you enjoyed this last construction update next time will be the parks opening day. Till next time. Kyle
  5. Replies: DBru: Thanks and I'm glad you like the concept art as I wasn't to sure about it. Kyle back again to give you a update of the construction around the park. I haven't got any of my own photos but my Uncle has sent me a load of official ones. I was also allowed a quick tour of whats going on but didn't take my camera with me but I couldn't really cover anything more than what the official ones show. I can tell you this though that the park is coming along at a really good pace. Lots of areas look like their nearly finished and the go kart track has been installed but anyway onto the pictures. This shows the new entrance which in my opinion looks really nice. What you can't really see form here is that the go kart track, Karting Kapers isn't actually in the park itself but is off to the side. this is to allow people to use the go kart track without having to pay to go in the park: This is the go kart track and building construction so far. As you can see a small food outlet is available as well as toilets: Back in the park theres still a lot of construction going on but heres some pictures of some of the rides: This picture was taken at night of the entrance again pretty nice: And finally I can show you the company HQ building situated off to the left hand side of the park as well as the big warehouse: Well thats all for now hope you enjoy it and keep the feedback up. Kyle
  6. Nope you can only have 252 items max im afraid. Cheers 89James89
  7. OOC: Hello and welcome to my new park. This will be a year by year park without a set dating system. The park will start out small and grow over the years and unlike my last ones this one will contain custom scenery. Hope you all enjoy) Hi my names Kyle and I'm really happy to be able to bring you this news on a newly planned amusement park near where I live. What makes this even better is that the owner of this park is my Uncle. I'm not sure how he got the money but I think mum said that he'd sold off his old haulage company and got quite a lot for it. Anyway Hes set up new company and gone into the amusement park business now. These are the shots from the new company, Jakal Parks Ltd that I've beengiven permission to show you and also taken myself. This first look also includes some pretty sweet looking concept art for what my Uncle said is a possible go Kart track they'll be installing in the first season. Anyway enough talking onto the actual park itself. Kandal Amusement Park is situated in the centre of England, not far from Birmingham. It is planned to be a small amusement park and these are some pictures from it. Firstly the official picture of the construction work going on around the ticket booths: And one I got from outside the security office leading into the carpark (looks like they really need to spruce up some colour here as well): Now concept art of the planned Go Kart track: Looks pretty sweet if you ask me. Anyway thats all for now come back later when I sure Ill have more for you all and any comments or criticism's are very welcome. Kyle (OOC: so yer leave comments and criticism's and I hope you like the start)
  8. OOC: Replies Team Thriller: Thanks and yes the path is really there for games sake not really to look good. Its there because it has to be the park is meant to look like a fair you get these days in a field so really the path is just their for the guests in reality they would be able to work all over the place. JuanSe_Colombia: Well the floor is going to have to stay for a year at least park time due to above reason. Glad you like the rest though. Current Year: 1960 Second Update (Painting the rides and buildings) Well this is just a short update to show the way we've painted the rides. Nothing really new is showed apart form the new paint jobs. As we are less than a month away from the projected opening so the ride signs are being created at the moment and you'll see these along with pictures from the opening few months next time. Anyway hope you like these new pictures. The Waltzers and cover with Spitfire (Roll O Plane) in the background: The Merry Go Round: 2 more random pictures: Till next time. Peter Herrin
  9. OOC Replies: moose: Thanks COASTERFREAK11: thanks DBru: Thanks it took a bit of doing to get looking right and as its no cs some experimentation but the building is very much inspired by a real life farmhouse as are the barns. The Restaurant was added to make it look like although its situated in the countryside the restaurant obviously means the road is pretty busy, the park however is in the UK near the Lake District. Almere Stars: Thanks and I'm glad you'll follow it. It may take a while though as due to the time line a lot of research is going into the ride choice including manufacturers names and everything. It'll hopefully all be worth it for that added realism. Team Thriller: Good good. JuanSe_Colombia: Thanks Current Year: 1960 First update (Construction Pics) Well I'm back to show you whats been going on over the last 4 months here at Rocky Lake. Firstly though heres a more detailed shot of the lake (OOC: I changed it due to some feedback over at the atari forums) and our horse enclosure and carer Craig Killroy. Lake: Horses and carer Craig: Now I have a 3 stages update of construction for you all starting with the clearing of the proposed field and the installation of gates at the entrance and wooden gates at each of the side entrances: Main gate: Side gates: I then took some more pics as the rides started to arrive and construction on buildings began. The buildings however at the moment will be temporary until were happy with the layout. Firstly ride list: Thrill Rides: Waltzers (Herbert Sellner) Spitfire (Everly Aircraft Company) Twister (Eli Bridge/Hall) (NB: Interestingly enough this brand new ride is the reason for the old fairs bankruptcy. Lets hope this state of the art thrill ride will do better for us) Family Rides: Merry Go Round (Old style one by William F Mangells said to be 40 years old already) Bumper Cars (Dodgems) Anyway pictures: Gates with rides (which all arrived unpainted except the Merry Go Round). Another angle: Then I returned again as the buildings were all being finished off now just to paint them. There ya go hope you like these updates the park shouldn't be to far away form opening. Cheers Peter Herrin
  10. (OOC: New timeline park again like my other ones with no cs. Hope you enjoy even though this update doesn't show any rides or such.) Current Year: 1960 Hello and welcome to my magazine blog for what will hopefully be the newest hot place in town (or rather quite a way outside but hey lol). My names Peter and this is gonna be all about a new park that my Dad is putting together. At the moment there are no rides but I have some pictures and plans to show you. Firstly though some history. This farm known as Rocky Lake has been in our family for over 50 years. It originally started out as a single shack and field and over the years my grandfather and dad have built it up and expanded it. Its happily made us a large amount of money due to our high quality horses that are used for the races and so we do have quite a bit of money. Now when my Dad was young he always loved the local travelling funfair's that would visit the nearby towns here in the Lake District but over the years the visits have been fewer and fewer. We recently discovered that the funfair itself had gone bankrupt and before I knew it my dad had jumped on it and purchased the lot. This apparently includes 5 rides but Im not sure what they are yet. With dad getting tired of all the farming it made perfect sense as we could set it up permanently in one of the fields and so that is what we plan on doing. Anyway enough of my chatting heres some pictures. Our House One of the barns out in the yard The horses paddock The actual Rocky lake A local roadside resturant A overview Proposed Plans I know its not a lot but I hope it gets you interested in things to come. Peter Herrin
  11. Looks pretty nice but its a bit flat to be honest. Also regarding the rapids you can get it in the water easily. Firstly zero all clearances with 8 cars. Then raise the water up not lower the track. Then restore clearances and there ya go. Cheers 89James89
  12. Replies: DBru: Thanks Kingbooba: Thanks and dont worry much more of Gold Mine is coming next update. Current Year 1960 Yay opening day. Well this is the first of 2 updates I've got planned for opening day. As you can see when we first arrived it was raining so not a brilliant start to the day but hey there were still some people coming in as well as us. Moving into the park we decided to take cover in one of the buildings till the rain passed and luckily it did pretty quickly and as you can see crowds really picked up. After standing around watching the crowds pouring in we bumped into my Dad who asked us what we thought so far and told us he may have something cool for us later on in the day. He then took us to meet his boss Mr Williams which was cool and we even got a free reel of 20 tickets off of him! After this was out of the way it was time to check out the rides. All 3 of them lol. I think this park needs to expand a little bit. First off though we went on the Merry Go Round for a couple of rides but to be honest I found it really boring lol. Next up was the chairswing which was much better. It was also really busy though as you can see from this photo. After riding it I took a photo of it that i think looks pretty cool. With the first two rides out of the way we went to get something to eat and get ready for the afternoon. Continued next update.[/u]
  13. Current Year: 1960 Right heres some pictures I forced my dad to take for me. Also included is the logo for the rollercoaster now called Gold Mine. Yes this is the ride that in the flyer was (and still is flyer wise and park billboard wise) called Treasure Hunt. Kinda stupid to change the name already but hey the new name is much better. Anyway heres a logo: Well the ride your about to see is a wooden wild mouse following the standard wild mouse track but built out of wood. As far as I know the supports were designed by my Dad and several other mechanics and ride researchers with the track as said above following the standard layout. (OOC: seriously I looked at every wooden wild mouse on the rcdb and none said who designed them so I made it up lol) Anyway heres some pictures of it taken and provided by my dad. (Oh yeah first one is some random picture of the billboard outside the park) Now the ride some from lifthill and some from the path to it. Enjoy. There ya go hope you enjoyed the small update. Regards Tom Halberry
  14. Hmm not entirely sure I cant find anywhere that says they were or anywhere that says they weren't lol so Ill just go along with it for now. If you find out that they weren't then we'll see by how far out if its a few years it wont hurt to much and if its a lot well pretend it never existed lol.
  15. Current Year: 1960 Well I got some really good news for you all. A new park has finally been announced near to where I live here in england (near the Lake District to be precise). Anyway I've known of this park for quite a while as my dad works their as a mechanic or something like that but its not been till now that I've had anything to show you.Anyway today dad brought home this flyer and picture of the park logo. Enjoy as its all I have at the moment. But I hope to visit for the opening day soon and maybe my dad will give in to my badgering and take some photos himself before opening day or convince his boss to let me take some. Park Logo: Flyer showing a few attractions and rides as well as the Treasure Hunt which I really really want to ride. Well hope you enjoyed what I've got so far and I'll be sure to keep you updated. Regards Tom Halberry (Note: Comments and Criticisms welcome even though their ain't much to see. Also this is no cs park so that a. everyone can enjoy when I put it up for download and b. I don't cause to much lag by over detailing everything c. I just prefer it without)
  16. lol thats not true to be honest I got a laptop thats 2 years opld and it can run rct3 as long as I dont have the settings up really high on a filled park. Cheers 89James89
  17. Lol above comment made no sense the flat rides pic was first. Anyway it looks ok but from the first pic it makes it look like its going to be a indoor park. I would also like to see more theming and spacing in your flat rides if their not meant to be indoors such as trees and also a closer shot of the work done to the area with the vegetation as that bit looks really nice. The coaster looks pretty sweet mind you. Looking forward to more of the park. Cheers 89James89
  18. lol unless you have a super computer or are planning on making each segment in a separate park then good with it all on one map espically if your adding details. Also you can access any photo stored anywhere on your computer so you can put it anywhere just use the folder tabs when selecting a picture. Cheers 89James89
  19. Looks really really nice from what I can see. Maybe a little bare in areas but still really nice. Cheers 89James89
  20. Kyle back for the next installment. Unfortunately this will just be a a picture update as we don't have any extra content for you. Firstly replies (or rather reply): Steffen-Dk: Thanks Right this is the site that I saw as I pulled up into the car park. Looks like something very new: This is another shot form inside the park of the weird structure thats being constructed. I wonder what it could be. Unfortunately lord Farbrook wasn't around for me to annoy until he told me but I have a pretty good idea : Anyway leaving that behind heres the first of the food establishments Fine Foods outlet. As you can see form this it comes with a walk through counter as well: moving around to the side of the building we have the atms and more phones: Lastly we have these shots of a new ride they've installed which I think I heard a worker call The Cage: Well thats all for now hope you've enjoyed the update. Till next time. Kyle Long
  21. Ouch thats a blow. Oh god I feel sorry for you if you have to download all the cs again lol. Cheers 89James89
  22. Hi folks Kyle Long back again to show you whats been going on over the last few months and also let you in on a exclusive interview I had with Lord Farbrook! Firstly replies to all your comments then onto the interview and pictures. Replies: Kingbooba: Thanks and yes we are hoping the park will be good and successful. DBru: Thanks and lets hope it continues to only get better! angrymobeaver: Thanks and here you are some more. Interview *Pleasantries exchanged* Me: Well first off thank you for agreeing to do this interview. Lord Farbrook: No problem I'm glad to be able to share my interest with a fellow park enthusiast and especially ones which seem to get so hyped up about construction work (chuckles) Me: (looking embarrassed) Yer ummm sorry for trespassing I didn't mean any harm. Lord Farbrook: No worries its all turned out for the good anyway. Hows the blog coming along? Me: Brilliantly people seem to be taking a interest already. Lord Farbrook: Thats a pleasure to here lets hope we can keep it up shall we. Me: Lets hope so. I was hoping to ask about the secret ride can we get anything other than a logo on this yet? Lord Farbrook: (Laughs) nope not yet sorry were keeping this one under tight wraps though needless to say it'll hopefully be the biggest pull when the park opens. Me: So what will be here when it opens? Lord Farbrook: A lot of flats have been purchased or are in the progress of being purchased which should give the park a solid ride base. Me: Yer a saw a couple of these earlier when taking some photos it seems the construction workers are working pretty fast. Lord Farbrookl: Yes they are (looks at photos I've just handed him). Ah this one, Sunwheel (you'll see this in a minute) should be a pretty good draw as well but rest asurred theres a lot more to come. Me: I take it we'll have somewhere to eat and relax as well when it opens? Lord Farbrook: Yep you sure will several resturants are being planned, toilets obviously will be around and the info and services have already been built. Me: Yup I didn't get any clear photos of that yet though. How about numbers is it predicted to be a busy opening season? Lord Farbrook: Well with the amount of rides we'll have and the local population and weather it should be alright and will hopefully lead to funds for expansions in years to come. Me: Yes lets hope so but unfortunately we'll have to wait till later to discuss them I need to be going now. Thank you for this interview. Lord Farbrook: No problem at all anytime you want a chat you know where to find me. Me: Thanks (shake hands and leaves. Interview over) Well there you are hopefully that gave a small insight into what the opening season will hold for the park and you can expect more interviews to follow but now onto the pictures I got for you. Firstly this was what I saw when I pulled up into the car park. Is that a ride testing already? Tell you what. It looks strange next to them cranes: Before we enter the park I have some photos for you of the signage thats gone up around the area. Lots of these opening soon park signs: The ticket booths got some signs to help organize the queues a little (always helps): Now for the first major thing since last update the entrance stalls are finally up and looking very nice and colourful: Entering the park itself the first thing you see is this carousel. I think one of the workers just said it was gonna be called plain old Merry Go Round but I wasn't to sure. Anyway here it is: Now onto the ride we saw earlier form the carpark. I now know from the interview that this is to be called Sunwheel and looking at the colours you can tell why. Still it looks fun: Finally I returned to the park at night after a work meeting and was allowed to take this picture. It looks pretty nice but I can't help but feel the lighting is a little dark. Anyway heres the picture: Well thats all for now see you next time and I hope you all enjoy the pictures and insight the interview has provided. Till next time. Kyle Long
  23. (OOC: Heres my newest park. Its going to be a realistic time line park done via seasons though not years. I will be doing lots of things other than just screen shots of it so updates may take a while but anyway enjoy what I've got so far.) Pine Lake Amusement Park Hello I’m Kyle Long and I’d like to welcome you all to this journal blog for a new Amusement park that’s being constructed near where I live here in South Yorkshire. This park was announced a few months ago and since then I’ve been passing by the site each day on my way to work to see if anything new is happening. Initially not much was happening but soon the beginnings of what could be an amusement park started to form. Being something of a park junkie I snapped up a few shots of the place and was quickly caught by the security. Hmm not exactly what I had planned but oh well I’ll just get thrown off the property. Wrong. Lord Farbrook himself came to see what I was doing and took a interest in my photo taking skills at it wasn’t long before I had agreed to provide you all with this journal. Anyway enough of that here’s the best photos I took plus one that Lord Farbrook had taken for the newspapers from his helicopter speaking of which heres the said article: Heres the only two logos the park has one for the actual park one showing the park logo and one for the ride which very little has been disclosed (just this logo in fact): Park Logo: Ride Logo: These are some of the photos I’ve taken so far of what’s there both day and night ones of the tickets booths and the carparks. Enjoy. Overview of area before construction starts: The newly constructed Ticket Booths: And finally the carpark: Well thats all for now join me next time for more news. Cheers Kyle Long
  24. Lol well obviously its gotta be good it got spotlight lol. I think the track looks brilliant and so does the amount of detail. I should probably get round to downloading it and give a better review but at the moment I'm just going by what I'm seeing. The only thing form the photo I think I can say I don't like are the red supports. I think it looks to red as the colour choice is very bright anyway. I think it would have looked better if you'd made the whole lot of supports yellow but its a minor thing as does in no way take away form the actual coaster or surrounding architecture. Cheers 89James89
