  1. I believe that steel hawks drop is going to be considered an inversion.
  2. Conestoga was a GREAT ride. Lots of air time and very smooth! I'm actually sorry they got rid of it, but according to what I heard, the pin in the rotating mechanism became too hard to maintain. (the manufacturer updated the maintainance manual) As for the colors of the ride, it's not that color because of Hershey High! Trust me, if they were going to make it any school colors, they'd make it brown and gold!! GO SPARTANS!!!!
  3. [My point was, what's wrong 2 launched coasters. On Maverick hitting it's 95 degree drop at speed was sensational, so a bigger steeper drop like Fahrenheits at speed would be amazing. It should be a good coaster anyway. I went to Hersheypark in 2004 so I'm well acquainted with the horsey coaster.] Not as acquainted as I am! Don't think that the chain lift on Farhenheit will be a slow one. It is a new hybrid chain lift powered by hydraulics, which will provide a smooth and fast ascent to the summit. I've never ridden maverick, but it doesn't seen to hit that first hill at more than 15 mph, i could be wrong, though. Anyway, both coasters are a stones throw away from each other, it wouldn't make sense to put 2 launched coasters in such close proximity. Also, keep in mind that the drop on Farhenheit is 21 feet taller that Maverick. It wont need the extra boost to get up to speed. In fact, the speed of the Hershey drop is the same as the maverick drop. (Actually, farhenheit is 1 mph faster)
  4. Hersheypark already has a launched accelerator coaster called storm runner! Be sure to ride it!
  5. Intamin hasn't abandoned the traditional lift. They give their customers what they want. The new coaster at hershey is going to have a chain lift, albeit not traditional at 90 degrees, but a chain none the less
  6. I know S&S bought out Arrow years back. Just used the original name for poops and giggles
  7. Big Bads Wolfe in my opinion is a FINE coaster. I actually enjoy BBW better than Alpengeist. Alpengeist has gotten rough in it's 10 years of being the tallest invert, and the restraint system is a little constricting. I think Arrow should reinvent their suspended swinging coaster. As old as BBW is, it runs smooth, it never gets old and you can't beat the G's at the bottom on the hill at the second lift.
  8. ATTENTION NANTIMI 11! (Actually, there will be 10 replying since i am one of the 11) Would all Nantimi 11 please e-mail me at the following address with your e-mail address. I would like to talk to you all about a t-shirt design for the opening day. I would like this to be a group design. I would also like the Nantimi 11 to stay in touch through a e-mail list. Also, Hersheypark is my home park. I am very knowledgeable of the area and what it has to offer in terms of hotels, eateries, and other attractions in the area if people are travelling from out of town. If anyone has any questions or needs any info on this they can contact me. Thanks a bunch. Knowit crochunisclan@msn.com
  9. I believe the pic with the steps to the left and the walkway on the right going up hill with shops on the right also is HersheyPark, after entering the park
  10. Wood---Phoenix Steel---Apollos Chariot
  11. Actually, according to what I've heard, the Tidal Force Catering area will remain and the coaster will interact with the pavillion.
  12. Not to get off the subject park, but Hershey has had free parking for season pass holders since at least 1992. I think if you fork out the dough, they should let you park free with a season pass.
  13. Phoenix from knoebels was relocated from san antonio texas
  14. 1. Great Bear 2. Aplengeist 3. BTR SFGA
  15. how about a wooden colosus? all 5 heartlines and all ]
  16. Inverted Looping and Hydraulic launched woodies....Here we come.
  17. Yeah, last year when I rode wildcat with the PTC trains, it actually hurt. The MF trains keeps the coaster at the proper bumpiness level. It is now well worth the wait in line.
  18. The 11 that recieved an e-mail to give their address and e-mail were chosen from the 25 that recieved a piece of the puzzle. After 11:11, the final 11 got e-mails from HERCO asking for address and phone numbers so an official invitation for the ride could be sent
  19. Nantimi 11 sounds great. keep the ideas coming
  20. I'm actually working on t-shirts. I have a graphic arts friend who can produce files usable for a silkscreener. Send me your ideas. I thought a good one would be the Nantimi logo on the front, and on the back the /themtravelled.thRu link on the back. We also do something like that "Leaked" memo. Give me your ideas
  21. We'll have to make sure we meet up. The nantimi 11 rides again
  22. It would definately be nice to have a hyper. Yes, Storm Runner is an intense ride, but it is a UNIQUE ride. Also, alot of parks have their kiddy rides clumped into one area. HP has them strewn about the park near all the bigger rides. I agree with rgb60, it would be too expensive to do such a hyper in HP. They wont be getting one for years. Also, I know the height of Goliath at SFOG is 200 ft, but it's drop is only 175. Does that disqualify it as a hyper? Storm Runners first drop is 180 ft, 5 feet more than goliath
  23. May 24 is the tentative open date for the coaster. The way the letter sounds to me is a guest may escort you to the ride but not take part in the first ride. I guess they have to wait in line like everyone else.
  24. Hey, I just a fedex envelope from HERCO! It says that on opening day a I will be able to retrive 2 tickets to ride the new ride on opening day. I will be able to take a guest, but the guest will not be able to ride, as the ride is only for the Nantimi 11. Which leaves a question. ......who will be the 12th rider on that train???
  25. Wild Mouse at hershey park is reserved for the three highest ride height catagories. My son is 8 years old, but he's no shorty, though. He was not able to ride the ride until this year because he was too short Look at the hersheypark website for the ride height catagories. My son has been riding the looper and comet for 2 years. I know that sounds backwards, but thats just how they have it set yup
