  1. And more... And finally, I leave you with this disturbing image of me and a clown, "He's just my type!" 90 DEGREES!!!!11!!!!!11 "Anyone Isturbing the Family Nviro Men Wi L Be Removed Rom the Ark Ithout Refund" the turnaround Inside the station Inside the station
  2. Some more: ...and down Going up... If Ravine Flyer II is too much for you, or you are just a credit whore, you can ride Ravine Flyer III (only if you are a child or have a child with you) Bob FM was there! "Bob Shack" hehe. ...and goin' down Turnin' around... ...including this very happy fella A trainful of happy riders returns... I know I have it earlier, but I just love this shot (plus I needed to load it proper-like)
  3. I'll try to post my pictures from Sunday. As you can probably tell, the park was pretty much empty with no waits for virtually any ride (including the new one)! This was likely due to the cold, wind, and scattered rain throughout the day. We happened to get over to the park when it was relatively sunny and not so cold, luckily. We only rode it the one time, but are planning to go back in a couple of weeks, so I may have a more extensive TR then. now for some pics: Flying back The turnaround From the Tom Ridge Environmental Center's tower, you can see most of the layout The new coaster is directly behind the Sky Ride The entrance to Ravine Flyer II. If you want to ride, buy your ticket from the nice ladies at the table (you can't get them at the ticket booth yet) The logo
  4. Okay, I'm going to try and post some pics:
  5. There's some ejector air on the bunny hops after you cross back over the street.
  6. I rode Ravine Flyer II once yesterday, and it was even better than I imagined. I haven't ridden any other Gravity Group coasters, but this made a fan out of me! Fast paced, awesome air, and plenty of twists and curves. The airtime was particularly great on the bridge over the road. Perfect "floater" air. The pacing of the ride was excellent, with no real slow spots. One little side note, though. A little confusion was generated by the fact that you do not buy Ravine Flyer II tickets at the ticket booth, you can only buy them at the ride's entrance. the ride cost 3 tickets, at 1.50 apiece, so 4.50 per ride. I'll get some pics up soon.
  7. I would love to go, but I'm not sure what my wife, who is not a TPR member, would get to do while I would be riding. Is there anything for non-members and non-riders to do during the filming?
  8. You're talking about this bad boy? And, the XTi is 10mp is it not? I assume you mean you have the Rebel XT a.k.a. 350D? Just like the crowd said, great shots! Closeups are a great way to show the human aspect of the park. Seeing people having fun is, well..., fun!
  9. Oh, yeah! I forgot to put that in my post! One of my all-time favorite movies. "Oh, it's a profit deal! That takes the pressure off!"
  10. Oh, and by the way, walking around with no shirt, wearing offensive clothing, smoking outside designated areas, wearing nothing but a bathing suit outside of the waterpark, to name a few things off your list, are against Cedar Fair policy (public smoking is also banned in Ohio except for the areas designated by the park). Alas, mullets are not banned, though they should be!
  11. Two things I will miss most about GL: Dominator and Big Dipper. Theme-Park-Urge wrote: Amazingly, none of that strip mall stuff was there less than ten years ago. The park used to be somewhat in the countryside, but recently the area has been attracting a lot of upscale businesses and housing. That fact seems to contradict what has been a major problem at GL since the SF days, the aforementioned less than...erm...quality... guests who just seem to hang out there. I had high hopes for the park; too bad they've been so blatantly busted to smithereens...
  12. ^Some places may be able to transfer slides to jpeg. Call a reputable camera shop in your area and ask if they can digitize slides. You can also scan them yourself, but only if you have a scanner with a backlight for scanning tranparencies. Also, those holes in the Matterhorn have been filled in. An excellent site to visit is Yesterland, devoted to past Disneyland attractions.
  13. Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about. As far as I know, I may still enjoy Boss. It's just that I've only ridden it once, and my sister, who is not a coaster enthusiast, says it has gotten rough. The last time I rode it, the Villain at GL was still relatively new, and so was Boss. I liked riding Villain, but later on it got to be pretty much un-ridable (and now it is un-ridable in any capacity). I just don't know from personal experience how Boss's ride has fared. It's definetly time to visit SFStl again.
  14. I know I'll get knocked for this, but personally speaking nothing compares to seeing Cedar Point as you drive up the causeway. But, anyway, let's get back on topic. I wonder how Evel Knievel will compare with Boss? The one time I rode Boss, I didn't mind it, but my sister who still lives in St. Louis says it's gotten rough in years since.
  15. Yeah, I think it's going in right in the front of the park. You can see it's right next to the log flume (that thing used to look SO big to me), and apparently they're rerouting/removing the Moon Antique Cars from the look of the first picture (it looks like the Moon cars track is in the foreground). I can't wait to get to my first "home park" again to ride this. If only they had these coasters when I was growing up...
  16. No, Robb, you're not insane. It does look like a model. I think it has to do with the weird depth of field effect in the picture. Usually, when you're focused on a subject as distant as the crowd at a wide angle, the depth of focus should be pretty deep. But the foreground and background are both quite blurry, as if it was taken at close range on a relatively fast aperture. Looking closely, though, I think it may really be motion blur, centered axially around the crowd, which leads me to ask if you took it from a moving vehicle (monorail)?
  17. I have that same Walther. My fave, though is this pistol: www.daisy.com/shopping/customer/product.php?productid=16240&cat=259&page=1 Fun.
  18. Wow. I feel particularly sad about this. I found his myspace profile a while ago, and I was going to add him, and somehow I forgot to. I feel really horrible about that. I'll have to make a trip to Cedar Point in his honor.
  19. It looks like Ryan has a "banana blaster"!
