  1. BabelLou's Zane --> English translation: My beloved TPR DVD arrived ten minutes ago! I'm watching it now!
  2. ^ Suddenly a little scared of meeting Derek...
  3. ^ Wow, that's acually one of your pics? I assumed it was from a movie or something. Still a very cool picture even if it isn't you.
  4. ^^ You're very good looking. How the hell could you even see with your hair like that in the first pic?! Were you like the ferret in Along Came Polly?!
  5. Great pictures Brent! I still flatly refuse to believe you're only 11 when you write so intelligently and type and spell better than most of the adults here! Bet you enjoyed spending a day with the girls huh? What was the foam in your hair from in that last picture? If it's supposed to look like fake snow it's a pretty poor imitation on Disney's part! :?
  6. Besmirchment! Slurring! Slander! Lies! I object!
  7. ^ Yet another comedy term coined by Robb. Does he really need a reason other than that it sounds so much funnier than Octopus Card?!
  8. Am I the only person who glanced at the thread title and instantly thought "OMG, Elissa's pregnant!"?!?! Clearly I have a more innocent mind than you guys. What's bad about that is, my first thought wasn't "congratulations", it was "oh no, Elissa's gonna miss out on all the coasters on the UK trip"! I'm with Allie, I would've had to poke Robb with my bulge too. Hmmm, Elissa has a surprise in her pants and is going to Asia.... Is this Robb's latest money-making scheme?
  9. Elissa, where's that little vomiting smiley you used a while back, I need one now I've seen a Jaffa cake! I can eat around the edges and the bottom but the orange stuff is minging!! Thanks for coming to the gig on Thursday Tom, it was a good night. (Would you believe neither of us took a camera, we both assumed the other would!)
  10. I was going to say the girl who died falling from Hydro at Oakwood in Wales, but I believe that was actually 2004, althought the modifications to the ride weren't made until this year. There was also the British girl who collapsed immediately after riding Tower of Terror at WDW, although it was found to be due to a pre-existing medical condition. Seems that many of the incidents of this year seem to be due to people's health issues rather than ride malfunctions. I know a lot of the time these are conditions that people don't know they have until it's too late (like the child on Mission Space), although many, such as the ToT incident, could be avoided if people pay attention to the warning signs. If memory serves me correctly, the 16-year old girl who collapsed was aware she had a condition but her and her parents didn't think it would be affected by the ride.
  11. ^^^ Robb, I was only kidding with my point about laziness being the reason the card was invented. As Elissa and others have said, it's great security wise and really is incredibly efficient. When I think of the number of times I've had to queue up at turnstiles.... If everywhere used these cards the lines would be significantly reduced. I think the only thing I would worry about if we had these would be that if it got stolen somebody would be able to debit all kinds of amounts from my account, but I guess I should worry about that happening with my debit cards too, although for some reason I don't.... Louise "not as security conscious as she should be" Royle
  12. ^ Neither do I, that's my point! Confuses the heck out of me! I'll stick with my Mancunianisms thank you very much.
  13. ^ It's Manc.
  14. Cool site! Why isn't "take the piss out of" on there though? That's my favourite phrase, and one that Americans are forever asking me to explain.... Can I just please, for the love of God, point out that next to nobody uses rhyming slang anymore, and nobody at all uses it outside of the London area. So anyone who talks to me about apples & pears, Aunt Annie, etc, don't be surprised if I make these faces:  :?
  15. ^ TRP?! ^^ Anybody else think Wes sounds like he's on a power trip? We'll be good Uncle Wes (and Uncle Ted). Wait, that sounds kinda perverted.... :?
  16. Congratulations Mark, that's awesome, you'll have an amazing time. I didn't get into my first choice first time around, re-sat some exams and made it the second time, it's totally worth any amount of work to be where you really want to be. It's great that you can now chill out and enjoy Asia knowing the next few years of your life are sorted! Have a great time!
  17. ^ I guess the Pussy is more convenient (now there's a string of words I never thought I'd say) than MC because you don't have to spend all of three seconds taking it out of your wallet, you just wave your wallet over the scanner thingy. Because really, every time any of us has to remove a card from a wallet/purse, we really do think, "wow, what a chore, I wish I didn't have to waste so much time doing this", don't we?!
  18. ^^ My "reliable" Nokia is a complete pain in the arse. I'm having similar problems, I just lose signal and then the calls gets ended, my text messages don't come through, etc etc. But I have a lot of stuff saved on the phone that I really want and/or need to keep. Now, I WOULD just transfer everything onto the SIM card and then change the faulty phone. Except that another one of the faults of the phone is that it won't copy anything to transfer it. So if I get rid of it, I lose everything. And my network (which by the way has been voted "best mobile phone network for customer service" several times in recent years) have been NO help whatsoever. If I actually manage to get through to somebody, they seem to either sound stoned and are completely useless, or they put me on hold for "just one moment", then twenty minutes pass, the signal on the phone dies, I get cut off, and then when I eventually call back, I get another useless stoner who sounds like they should be working in McDonald's or something. ^ LOL Joe!! (If you change your name to Pkryshvckwa or whatever the hell I said, then you MAY have a case! )
  19. ^^ Scott, I am so impressed that you have posted an entire rant without going into the second person. ^ WTF possessed me to click that? Not your fault Tinkerbell but perhaps you should add something that tells people not to click if they're impatient!!
  20. This TR pretty much sums up why I spent so much time at BGT with my family as a kid, because there's something for everyone, both the thrillseekers and those who are happy to soak up the atmosphere and take in the more chilled out stuff (not in an illegal sense). Seems like you guys had a nice day! (And I never understood why people stared at the turtles and gators for so long when they weren't moving either.)
  21. ^ Ditto. I mean, obviously I'd rather not have to live without either, but if I had to choose never to do one of these things again.... I'd survive without the coasters.
  22. Yes, it really is that bad. My primary school (ages 4-11) wasn't too bad, they used to push the healthy eating thing, but at high school and sixth-form, it was ALL junk. I certainly never complained, I'm not big on the green stuff, but health wise.... Not good. Jamie Oliver's doing good work.
  23. Bad luck? Is that all? I've never had this particular email but whenever I get anything like this it usually says "Forward to at least 10 people OR YOU WILL DIIIIIEEEEEEEE". Funny how I'm still here really. Still made me laugh though Dennis.
