^ LMAO!! I actually considered typing that post entirely in IPA but decided that'd be a little too pretentious. -
EDIT:: Okay, never mind, I'm getting all kinds of weird error messages now, no worries.

Names you've mispronounced
Louise replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Like Jow said, things like Bolliger & Mabillard are always gonna sound different in different accents. There are several words that when said with a British accent just sound damn weird, but it sounds even weirder if we try to Americanise them. Pretty much the same as others: I had NO clue how to pronounce "Geauga" until I heard it on In The Loop. And until I heard Elissa say it correctly, I'd always assumed it was "Can-OH-bie", rather than "CAN-oh-bie", which I now have confirmed from Mr Canobie Fan himself, I think, if I read his post here correctly. Nicole, I'm never sure if it's Too-sen-FREED, or Too-sen-FRID. I think FREED. (Weirdest looking post ever.) -
We don't do graduation over here the way you guys do, but our two end of high school songs were We Go Together, from Grease, and I've Had The Time Of My Life, from Dirty Dancing. Guess whoever arranged that had a thing for cheesy movies, but they both seemed pretty appropriate at the time actually. There was a third, but I can't remember what it was so I'm guessing it wasn't good/significant enough to stick in my mind.

Nice TR Jow, glad you had fun even though the camp-out screwed you over. What happened with the rental car? Nice work changing Elissa's profile, I never knew she was a 19 year old guy...

Great trip report, I really enjoyed your captions. I'm waiting for Erik to return to this thread, I'm almost certain he will know at least a couple of the restrooms, if not all of them. Glad you seem to have had a good time, even if you didn't get to ride all that much! -
Welcome to the site!! There's already a thread here designed for new members to introduce themselves, so maybe you can re-post this in there, these introductory threads are usually locked simply because if every new member opened one, we'd have thousands. Come And Say Hi thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=177 Read the posting rules, check out some of the stickies and stuff and have fun!

Robb makes me feel this way too. I'm confused, do you mean that you also find Robb attractive, or do you mean that when Robb is around, you yourself feel fat, hairy, & alluring?

Need some help with TPR streaming video
Louise replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yay, works for me in Safari now! A little slower than normal to load, but I've been having a few problems lately so that might be at this end. Anyway, yup, much better. -
What is your favorite _________________?
Louise replied to CoasterFanatic's topic in Random, Random, Random
It's not strictly a "favourites" thread, but seeing as the Family Guy thread is on there, may as well add the Simpsons one too: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19308 // Mod Edit: Added -
I just got a letter from my bank telling me that my account is SERIOUSLY into minus figures. That means I get charged £30 (practically $60), but they've waived the fee simply because my account is usually "kept in good order". I will be charged if I withdraw any more money though, and if I don't get it back into the green soon... Seriously, I have no clue how I'm gonna get by until I get my next student loan installment, I don't even know when it's due, although it must be soon. This is the worst mess I've been in pretty much since I was about 15. F*ck.

He posted something he thought other people might find interesting. Is it really necessary for every thread to become a heated debate of some kind?

*sigh* I tried.

One of the few major threads (by which I mean, more than a few pointless posts long) that I recall being closed here was centred around religion... It's something that people will NEVER agree on, so why not just avoid the issue? Can we PLEASE just move away from the religious/moral debates and get this thread back to what it was at the start? It'd really suck to go 65 pages in a civil manner and then have the thing get locked... Sorry to butt in, but... C'mon, we can all see where this is going.

Great pics Soren! I love Sea World, can't wait to get back there one day. I always found it a nice park to take your time with, I'm sure you'll enjoy spending a whole day there sometime soon. Glad you're enjoying your time in Florida!

^ Ah I see. I'm a complete technotard, thanks for the explanation. -
Aww, I'm sorry to hear that Dave. We lost our dog two years ago, she was only 8 and it was really sudden, it's horrible losing a pet. Trying to avoid the clichés of "she had a good innings" and "time is a great healer", although I guess the latter is true. I'm sure she had a great life with you guys, sorry again.

Need some help with TPR streaming video
Louise replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was going to instantly vote for streaming, seeing as I have zero space to spare on my hard drive and the Spain videos you streamed worked instantly perfectly for me, but nothing is happening with this one in either Safari, or Internet Explorer (which I never use but tried just to see if it was Safari that was the problem). -
I really hate the press sometimes....
Louise replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love how sensationalism has become the way of EVERY newspaper over here now. Used to just be the tabloids, but now even the reputable broadsheets have taken to it. The Guardian report on the recent Mission: Space death stated something about the ride being so intense "motion sickness bags are required". For God's sake, YES, people get motion sickness sometimes, especially when they're on holiday in a climate they're not accustomed to and have been over-indulging on good food, etc etc, so the bags are there just in case. But hell, people get sick on planes because of the difference in pressure/forces/etc, but the media don't imply that people shouldn't fly. Just seems like the general attitude of most journalism these days is to exaggerate and cause social panic. Don't even get me STARTED on the bird-flu coverage... -
NEW PARK DISNEY IN EUROPE
Louise replied to IntelInside's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This pretty much sums it up for me. It'd be cool to have another Disney resort pretty close to home, especially if they didn't clone too much of the Paris stuff and had a number of different attractions (personally I'd love to see an EPCOT style park in Europe), but as others have said, Spain was considered for the original EuroDisney, and there were reasons why they didn't choose a site there then. Maybe if in the distant future that part of Spain becomes more accessible, and it seems worth it to have a new park so close to Paris, it'll happen, but can't see it being anytime soon. -
^ I hate how Lost Season 2 hasn't even STARTED here yet... Think yourself lucky damn it!
