  1. I would expect Batman: The Ride to still be standing along with Jester mainly due to the fact, that I believe these rides are built and manfactured to be able to survive extreme weather conditions. However i'm uncertain about the woodies future. I do hope the people of New Orleans are safe and survive this hurricane, and can rebuild there city afterwards.
  2. An out and back twister would be so good at the Towers down the valley, if they can ever get planning permission! (darn locals!) As much as i'd like it to be a racer I don't think it would be due to the noise limit, I don't think a woodie would fit in with Thorpe Park mainly as there trying to go for the young thrill market, a Intamin or a B&M hyper would be a superior investment for Thorpe.
  3. Erm is it me or do I find this poll very pro-Cedar Fair, I mean Steel Force over SROS at SFDL and SFA :? and Millenium Force at #1 there are superior coasters such as the SROS at SFNE and Expedition GeForce. The best-landscaped park and most beautiful park didn't even have Alton Towers in the top 5, I have been to both Epcot and IOA and I think that Alton's natural valley and ancient castle are far more beautiful than a manmade lake. That poll is also very biased to Holiday World i've never been there but I can't imagine it's water park beating Disney's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Very dismal and very biased awards.
  4. ^ I doubt you consider this major and nothing can be done about it, but the search feature doesn't seem to work for posts before the forum went down?
  5. UK Alton Towers Chessington World of Adventures Drayton Manor Flambards Village Theme Park Legoland Windsor Thorpe Park Austria Wiener Prater Denmark Tivoli Gardens France Disneyland Paris Walt Disney Studios USA Busch Gardens Tampa Islands of Adventure Universal Studios Seaworld Magic Kingdom MGM Studios Animal Kingdom Epcot I think that is all!
  6. Hmmm, this is a tough one, there both pretty mediocre attempts at theming but if I had to choose one it would have to be Kingda Ka. At least it tries to fit in with the surrounding area instead of sticking out like a sore thumb ride in the center of the park. I've never been to either park but that seems to be my own personal impression.
  7. When Tidal Wave at Thorpe Park, effect's are working the ride looks awesome. Awesome effects!
  8. Oblivion at Alton Towers last Saturday!
  9. A brilliant dark ride on your first go is almost as good as an amazing coaster on your first go, however the novelty starts to wear off on dark rides as they are based around the story, atmosphere and theming compared to the adrenaline and forces that a good coaster delivers. My favourite dark rides have to be Hex: The Legend of the Towers at Alton Towers due to the setting and atmosphere even though on some of my most recent rides it has been wrecked to annoying girls screaming throughout the whole ride, which mutes out the brilliant soundtrack. Phantom Manor at DLP Due to the fact it has so much to look at, and the attention to detail is superb. and Spiderman at IOA Do I really have to explain why I think this is awesome? The 3D effects used and the fact how all your senses can detect something such as the smell of burning when the villian throws fire at you to the various unique places and ways you are thrown around whilst on the ride.
  10. No, they manafactured the Intamin Stand-Up's Batman the Escape, Cobra and Shockwave. Hmmm I wonder why Intamin abandoned the B&M box track?
  11. Yes, there was a event similar to this that happened about 2 months ago. http://www.towerstimesforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6546 You've got to wonder at times, what is the world coming to?
  12. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/staffordshire/4714977.stm Absolutely sick, I hope the people who commited this get a long stay in prison. It's disgusting what some people can do, hopefully the girl is alright. Other news stories about the incident http://www.ukmania.co.uk/news_desk.php http://www.towersnerd.com/parkitem.php?id=58 Once again, this is a sick crime.
  13. Hey I've been reading this forum for a long time and about SFMM's, well erm.... crappiness! And i've just wondered why the heck haven't Six Flags decided to remove the pile of scrap metal known as Flashback I mean the ride look's appalling, is never operating and is a waste of space. If Six Flags are so mad about the record of most coasters in a park, why can't they just replace it with something cheap and fun such as a Wild Mouse or a Wildcat. Both fun, reliable coasters which are both reliable. If half of the problem is noise surely the park could just enclose the ride? Or move it somewhere else in the park, it is clearly a travelling coaster as it was in two parks before SFMM under the name "Z-Force" Anyway please share your opinions, and put any future news of the ride here in this topic! I want to know what is going to happen to it in the near future.
