  1. I don't think he meant replacing Invertigo. I don't think Invertigo is going anywhere. But there is space where the woodie was supposed to go. Behind Xtreme Skyflyer and Whitewater Falls.
  2. Trying to support DBru here, but I think the "15yo" part had a particular negative connotation. Especially because other people on here (who are older than 15) had the same concerns about "How could this cost $10.5 million?" and capacity issues. Just my two cents. Anyway, the ride looks very cool and a great way to cool off at CP. I for one am a big log flume fan and this one looks perfect for the area and for the park.
  3. Well CP definitely has a lot of flats, but a lot are rides that a lot of carnivals carry (scrambler, himalaya, matterhorn, chaos, Ocean Motion). The unique/major ones are MaxAir, Power Tower, Cedar Downs, Skyhawk, and Demon Drop (maybe Troika). I think some place like Knoebels or Kennywood has better unique flats. Even (although I'm a little bit biased) CGA and SCBB have really good collections of unique and interesting flats.
  4. An interesting find: cagreatamerica.com/events/event_detail.cfm?event_id=645&ec_id=13 It says nothing about replacing Kidzville at CGA. It just says that Snoopy will take over Nick Central. So could Kidzville be remaining intact?
  5. That is one great thing about SFDK. If they aren't adding a new ride/coaster, then they make sure to add a really nice looking animal exhibit or show. There's always something very exciting every year.
  6. Argh, why can't CGA get something like Intimidator! Because I'm bored and frustrated, here's a list of CF parks and the coasters they've gotten from 2001-2010 (10 years): Carowinds-Rugrat's Runaway Reptar (03), Nighthawk (04), Carolina Cobra (09), Intimidator (10) KI-Rugrat's Runaway Reptar (01), Backlot Stunt Coaster (05), Firehawk (07), Diamondback (09) KD-Hypersonic (01), Ricochet (02), Backlot Coaster (06), Dominator (08), Intimidator (10) CW-Silver Streak (01), Tomb Raider/Time Warp (04), Backlot Stunt Coaster (05), Behemoth (08) CP-Wicked Twister (02), TTD (03), Maverick (07), new coaster (10) WoF-Spinning Dragons (04), Patriot (06), Prowler (09) VF-Steel Venome (03), Renegade (07) KBF-Xcelerator (02), Silver Bullet (04), Sierra Sidewinder (07), Pony Express (08) DP-Talon (01), Hydra (05), Voodoo/Possesed (08) EVEN MiA-Thunderhawk (08) CGA?? Psycho Mouse and the removal of Greased Lightnin and Stealth. It's frustrating.
  7. Good find. I'm glad CGA thinks that retheming the kid zones twice (03, 10) before getting a new coaster is a good idea. We are approaching (almost) 10 straight years sans new coaster.
  8. So I didn't want to completely take over the CW thread... What are your thoughts about Planet Snoopy. I know it's not that GCI that's been so hard to get, but if a couple decent rides are added, it might not be so bad. Oh, and Haunt information is official.
  9. It will be interesting how the all of those rides will be rethemed, especially the ones that have extensive theming i.e. Scooby Doo dark ride at CW, the Cartoon Carousels, Spongebob's Boatmobiles at CGA. Hmmm, if CGA got like a spinning family coaster like KBF's, I suppose the makeover wouldn't be so bad. The only thing that I worry about is that CGA will (yet again) be getting not very much (and no new coaster.....again).
  10. CGA's site is up now. New addition this year: Toy Factory haunt.cagreatamerica.com/
  11. Looks like an old Skyhawk at PGA (long time ago) or Flight Trainer (KD or KI I think) mixed with a Chance Aviator. I remember riding Skyhawk at PGA a long time ago. Doing the barrel rolls was so much fun.
  12. No matter which of the 3 you hit first, by the time you come around to ride the second and third, you will have to wait a decent amount of time. I went in late July a couple years ago, and all 3 had max waits of about 75-90 min. TTD was more 60-75 later in the day though. But I did really like how the lines moved very quickly (as someone pointed out earlier).
  13. From watching the videos it looks like a really really fun ride and a unique addition to the (already nice) water park. Now if I could just get out to Santa Claus...
  14. There's a poll on that article page "Does this incident with Invertigo make you not want to ride the rides at CGA anymore?" (or something like that) 39% said yes...
  15. I totally didn't see any TPR high visibility people! Darn.
  16. I went again today and have returned with some more pics if anybody wants to see. I went with my friend and got to the park around 11:30. We started out in the water park. The speed slides didn't open until 12:30, so we stayed in the water park a little over an hour. On Digeridoo Falls (family raft ride) we were put with another two people and we were going CRAZY high on the turns. This is the only shot I got of the slides: Then after some lunch we hit up Delirium: Next up we rode Endeavor. Continuing around the park clockwise, Centrifuge, a classic scrambler kind of ride, was next. Next ride: Psycho Mouse. The longest lines today were for the family rides and water slides. It was hot, so the water rides were busy. Psycho Mouse's line was also long too. But the major roller coaster lines weren't bad. Obviously there were a ton of families there today. As soon as we boarded PM, the ride broke down (after a 30 min line), so we waited another 15 min and were allowed to ride after the ride got back up. Passing by the "buckets" the line was too long So we rode Drop Tower (walk on) Survivor was our next ride, and even though we got the green seats, we had a fun ride. Some queue theming: The fire/mister effects weren't working today. Yeah, it's a terrible ride, but we had to ride Grizzly just because. Every row was a walk on except the front and back, which had one train waits. Usually this one has a much longer line, but we weren't complaining. Even though we didn't ride Invertigo this time, I got a few good pics Because it was pretty hot, Whitewater Falls sounded really good. We sat in the back and actually got LOADS of airtime on both the first drop and the mini bump thing. But we didn't get soaked. We chose not to see the 4:00 Ice show, but instead we went to Vortex where we rode in the front with about a 1 min wait. Also said hi to dpxtreme/Daniel. After getting bashed by Vortex we went over to Flight Deck and rode in the 3rd row. Then a quick ride on the Orbit and then on Flying Eagles (the rapids had about a 45 min line at this point). We finished our day with the All Wheels Extreme Stunt Show. Overall, a good day and I can't wait for Halloween Haunt!
  17. Great Pictures! I couldn't make it out for the event, but I think I'll be hitting up the park for my yearly trip next week.
  18. I went to the park today and took some pics. Here's one of what I had mentioned a oouple days ago.
  19. Great TR so far! When you mentioned how VF would feel empty without their GCI it reminded me of CGA. I really hope that if CGA does finally get that GCI, it will change the feel of the park.
  20. I was just at the park and the giant billboard outside of the park advertised for the Haunt "7 mazes, 4 scare zones, 2 live shows, and one terrifying ride". Last year there were only 5 mazes, so along with Toy Factory, it looks like we're getting another new maze!
  21. I have the article right in front of me in the paper (San Jose Mercury News). A quote directly from Kinzel: Gives me hope that CF really does want CGA. Oh, and I'm really excited for CGA's 2nd Haunt this year!
  22. Even though Double Shot is much smaller than Drop Tower, it packs quite a punch! I'm also sad you missed the classic carousel because it's one of the only ones where you can grab the ring and try and toss it into the clown's mouth. Oh well.
  23. Bummer that you missed out on some of the really cool flat rides that CGA has, but I'm glad you got most of the credits. I also find that line for Demon strange, but I guess the 1 train operation was probably the main cause of that. Can't wait to read more about my home parks!
  24. SFDK has a strict height restriction from the city of 150ft. However, it is not 150ft all the way around. I do believe that the height limit decreases the further back you get in the park. That's why all of the big roller coasters are at the front and there aren't any in the back.
