  1. That Intamin coaster hoax boasts a top speed of 222kph...
  2. I have the song used in that promo!
  3. Nice video. Makes me want to go there as soon as I can. Only suggestion I'd make is a little less focus on Behemoth and show off some of the other assets the park has.
  4. That's more or less what I'll be doing with my Speed ride.
  5. For my park, Fox Studios World, I chose Die Hard as the basis for my largest coaster I am going to build. The station for the coaster will be in a skyscraper type of building (as that was the location of the movie) and the queue will either be running down and through the underground parking entrance, or through a separate parking garage (the underground way would be more accurate to the movie). The problem is deciding which type of coaster to use. When I made my Goliath ride for my first park, it became a sought after ride and I ended up having to extend the queue length to accommodate 400 people. I used a giga coaster for that. Alternatively, I can use a mega coaster, like Nitro or Behemoth (minus the V seats). Or I can use the same coaster type as Goliath at Magic Mountain. Basically this coaster will be the centerpiece for the park, so I want to get it right. Right now I'm thinking giga coaster but I think it's more because I am more experienced in using that type then the others when it comes to a top 10 sized coaster. What are your thoughts?
  6. Every screenshot I did relating to this park I had posted on another thread here on TPR, but it got locked on me because I mistakenly broke one of the TOU and the powers that be refused to re-open it. So I had no choice but to start another thread, and at the beginning of this thread, I posted a link to the locked one so you can at least see the older screens, but then was informed those screens were also taken off. I simply haven't had the time to re-post the older ones so yeah, use the banner to see them on my site, or go to another site to see them, but I will continue posting updates here.
  7. I need to find someone to go to the park with. My wife gets sick going on Taxi Jam!
  8. The only real reason why the wait is so long with Sky Rider isn't because of how long the lineup is, it's because of how slow guests are loaded and unloaded.
  9. I can't stand the supports for Sky Rider. Those bars that surround your head can tighten as you are on the ride. I hear often of people holding those bars while on the ride, and inadvertantly push them in tighter to the point that they are squeezing against your cheeks.
  10. That's one of the things I love about Vortex. The entire queue could be filled but it's such a quick ride and they manage to load people on quickly too, so it takes perhaps much less time then what the signs post. I always always take the extra time to sit in the first car.
  11. I find the Time Warp's queue is pretty quick, because people are always moving due to the system they use to get people on the trains.
  12. Not a bad plan. Thunder Run and The Bat usually have long wait times no matter what time of day, mostly due to the single trains being used. When I go, my ideal plan is to go clockwise. I don't remember the post-Paramount names of the rides so forgive me, I start with Top Gun, then Tomb Raider if I feel like it (not too thrilled with that one), Sledgehammer and Psyclone, then Behemoth (the queue goes through pretty quickly so don't be down if you see lots of people there), Italian Job, Minebuster, Sky Rider (if I feel like it), Vortex (my favourite in the park), Shockwave, Wildabeaste, Nightmare, Dragon Fyre (there's never a line on that ride), and whatever else I fit in.
  13. Could be anything. As much as I want to see new rides brought into the park, I think it's too soon after Behemoth to introduce any major addition. It could easily be new cars for an existing coaster, or something to do with Splash Works. Hope I am wrong.
  14. That's a good question to ask. Too bad if you go to the park within a few weeks of the Haunt event you won't be able to go a number of the rides because they will be closed down to prep for the Haunt (Thunder Run and bumper cars are just a few).
  15. For those of you critical of the coasters in the park, whether it be the size of them, that a fair portion of them are clones, and whatnot, keep in mind that when the park was built and right up till just a few years ago management has had a very weak dollar working against them. Throughout the 80s and 90s the Canadian dollar was worth in the 60 to 70 cent range to the American dollar, and that hindered what they can invest in the park, especially with a very limited seasonal schedule due to our colder weather. I think given the circumstances the park has done fairly well, and will continue to do well.
  16. I remember back in high school, when drop zone was the brand new ride. I organized a field trip for a student club I was part of. I managed to get in touch with the chief engineer for the park, and he took us on a tour of everything behind the scenes. He said the park has never allowed such a tour before and we should be proud because with the way it turned out, the park began considering a project of doing these tours for educational reasons. We went inside the mountain and saw the control room for Thunder Run, same for Drop Zone (the comparison between the ages of the computers was astonishing), got shown how the lift hills work, and even got a reserved seating on the Drop Zone, bypassing the what once used to be an insane queue. Ah the good old days.
  17. I know Canada's Wonderland doesn't have any large woodies but I've always like Wildabeaste, even more then Minebuster. I'm definitely a fan of the variety of flat rides in the park. I haven't gone this year but I've heard nothing about any new investment for next year, but I'm hoping something will be announced. Wishful thinking but I hope they can fit another coaster in somewhere.
  18. Hehe, never thought of that. Perhaps I should drop a worker into the trench for that very reason
  19. I can help you out. I understand the challenge you're talking about. My first park I made I accidentally included a TT object in it which really limited who could open it because at the time TT just came out. I'm taking my own steps to make sure I don't make the same mistake again.
  20. It took a while, but I finally managed to put together some architecture to complete my Death Star Assault coaster. Most of it has been done for months but I've had the most difficult time putting together some sort of station building and supporting architecture. After many different attempts, I settled on the following structure to be my "inspiration" for the station. To see the image I used as my main reference, CLICK HERE. I decided to build a station similar to the Massassi Temple that was the Rebel base that launched the attack on the Death Star. The temple is located on the moon of Yavin IV, and is named after an older civilization called the Massassi who worshipped an old Sith Lord called Naga Sadow who enslaved the people. DEATH STAR ASSAULT The Death Star Assault is a flying coaster and it was one of the first ideas I envisioned when I originally thought of the park. Many have suggested an inverted coaster but I have other plans for one so that's why I didn't make this coaster inverted. Essentially you leave from the temple and make your way through a semi-forested area until you hit the trench run in the Death Star. At the conclusion of the trench run the ride pretty much ends as you enter the transfer station. Another popular comment is that the supports are too close together. I am leaving that for now, but may come back to it later and adjust them. Just a note that the open space beside the lift hill will be filled eventually.
  21. You make great use of the underground option for the Superman ride. Very nicely laid out.
  22. If I may make a suggestion, the park seems kinda "boxy". This is an issue I am tackling myself, so I understand how hard it is to get around it. Just to cite an example, the screenshot of the overall view of Riddler's Mindbender. The plots of bushes and trees breaking up the pathway are all identical in size and content. If you mix it up a bit, change them around somewhat, changing some features, then it stands out more. Again, I'm working on this issue myself. Overall though it looks way cool.
  23. Actually, you can't since I had to delete them all due to size issues. Hmm, well I guess if you want to see them click on the banner below.
  24. Well the climate point of the ride is a simulation of the trench run from Star Wars. You can't really see it from that screenshot (intentional). Other then that, it is mostly in an open grassy field with some pockets of trees spread out. No buildings aside from the station that I am currently working on.
