  1. Sledgehammer I think is the only one of its kind in the world. If it's operating jump on it while you have the chance. There is a fair chance by the time you come around it again it'll be down for maintenance or something. I personally like the front seat of Vortex because of the sheer speed of the ride and the feeling of being "propelled".
  2. I like to go on the low capacity coasters first (bat, fly, stunt track), then the two biggies (behemoth and leviathan), then just go around in a circle. I realize my plan means bouncing around the park a bit at the beginning but you save so much queueing time I find it is worth it.
  3. Canadas wonderland just sent this email out: Canada's Wonderland will be announcing its big 2019 news on Wednesday, August 15 at canadaswonderland.com. To mark the occasion, Season Passholders will get an exclusive Early Ride Time from 9am - 10am on Vortex, Windseeker, and Mighty Canadian Minebuster. As a special bonus, Passholders will have the first chance at a sneak peek behind our construction fence to see what we've been working on.
  4. Well correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Canada's Wonderland consistently rank among the highest of attended parks? That would be really impressive considering its relatively short operating season.
  5. Just called Wonderland (don't know why I didn't think of that earlier). They said the Sunday early ride times does apply to season passholders and their accompanying bring a friend tickets.
  6. For you season passholders will the park open up an hour early this Sunday, being the long weekend? Also, assuming it is, would passholder bring a friend tickets also be allowed in with the passholders?
  7. when I took my son to dinosaurs alive back in June one of the reps there said it was shutting down this year. I asked why but he didn't know. He guessed to make room for something else. My guess is that an event like this gets stale after a while.
  8. Hi this weekend is no good due to having to go to multiple birthday parties but I'll PM which days over the next few weeks or so I am available and we can go from there?
  9. Next time you plan on going solo let me know. None of my family can handle thrill rides so I also go solo and can go during the week. Sorry I didn't see this till now. Been away.
  10. I am heading to the park this week... anyone want photos from any aspect of the construction site?
  11. I'm highly skeptical about the dive coaster being called Ziz. The whole area surrounding and leading up to the ride has been re-themed to a very "Canadian" style. What was the entrance of the queue leading into SkyRider is now a long path with nice dark wooden light poles and log style railing leading towards where the station seems to be being put in place.
  12. When Ziz... or whatever the new dive coaster is going to be called is announced, do you think TPR is going to do another organized trip to the park like they did when Leviathan opened? I bought a ticket to the Leviathan event but ended up being unable to go due to a last minute sickness in my family, and couldn't get a refund. Am hoping for another opportunity for such an event.
  13. I must say you're park looks wonderful, particularly considering you had no CS to work with. Great use of the standard stuff.
  14. I renewed my seasons pass and got a bring a friend ticket to go along with my fast lane plus ticket. Anyone want to with me? None? You'd only need to buy a fast lane plus ticket which costs $50 online right now.
  15. Has anyone else not been receiving e-newsletters from the park despite signing up on the website? Last night I wondered when they will announce the ability to renew season passes, which usually means the announcement of next year's additions, so I went on the website. Turns out both were already announced - and now by looking back in this thread, they were announced a while ago - yet I haven't heard a peep from the park in my inbox in months.
  16. I'm going to the park tomorrow, and was wondering something. I went to the park a few weeks ago on my own on a weekday. I arrived at 9:45am and the rides were already going and people were on them. Is there early start times on certain weekdays? I'm a season pass holder and I don't know about that - I haven't even received a single e-newsletter from the park this whole season. Any thoughts?
  17. Anyone thinking of going to the park tomorrow (Wednesday)? I'm thinking of going and wouldn't mind having a ride buddy.
  18. Which I'm sure they're trying to encourage. Even if that isn't the primary motivation, you can bet they factored that in their decision making.
  19. I remember watching some videos on YouTube ranking the top 10 worst woodies and most had Wildabeaste/Grizzly on the list, with some ranking it as the worst. I find them "too" battering and just don't enjoy them anymore. If I had to pick between Minebuster and Wildabeaste (yes I know that's not the name of it now) I'd give a slight nod to Wildabeaste.
  20. For a park that uses no custom archy pieces it looks quite nice, but I think adding a bit more variety would help things really stand out, like more variety in vegetation, wall types, etc. Quite intrigued about the Batman ride. Overall you've done very well with this park.
  21. Agreed, as much as I like the ride, it was a eye sore for me when they switched to the orange supports. I like the look of Soaring Timbers but I always thought a more appropriate place for it would be near White Water Canyon or Timberwolf Falls, not beside Shockwave, which is such a similar ride. having properly themed areas has never been a strong suit at the park.
  22. Anyone going to the seasons pass sneak preview night towards the end of the month?
  23. After watching the youtube video of the ride elsewhere, I have come to the conclusion that I don't think I will enjoy this ride, which is slightly odd because Shockwave is one of, if not my favourite flat ride at the park. Who knows though, maybe seeing it first hand will change my mind.
