How about "Bob Bon" after Bob Bon land in Scandanavia? -

I totally forget about 1 that is gone that I liked - Deja Vu at Six Flags Great America, I just love when hangs you there string down the 90 degree drop. Edit: I just remembered, it's gone to Silverwood, and therefore doesn't count. On Six Flags Great America, I'm still stumped why they would remove the big Arrow Shockwave couldn't they have put the flyer somewhere else? -

I found Flashback mediocre more than awful but that coaster is more than welcome to rust in pieces. Psychlone on the other hand, if you have given me an axe and a licence to demolish - I wouldn't have stopped chopping until that thing was levelled. -

I forgot about Laser, though I don't think it has been scrapped or retired. I just love how it was so forceful but as smooth as coaster could possibly be. -

Satchboogie3, I'm the same with Arrows - Viper at SFMM was the first big coaster I ever went on, I had first set foot in the USA and I was at the mountain wwithin 24 hours. I checked out Shockwave at SFGAm, that looks a lot better than what replaced it. High Speed Thrill Coaster - that wasn't bad for a kiddie ride. Wildcat at Luna Park Sydney - that was a groovy galaxi style coaster, right next to Sydney harbour and quite possibly my first ever coaster, it was the coaster I had to settle fort until I was tall enough to ride the Big Dipper. Eureka Mountain Mine Ride (Dreamworld Australia) - I like this one. High Roller at Stratoshere - the most pathetic coaster but put it 100 feet up and it was the most terrifying coaster ever. -

I'm thinking Knoebels could make this into a really fun ride. Would it fit in the High speed Thrill Coaster site? Though there are plenty of other places to put it. -

Ill stick to the topic and list the one's I actually liked that have retired or destroyed: Chiller - only got to ride the Robin side, I am a bit unclear what the current status of this one is, maybe it has bobbed up in some eastern European outpost? Thunderbolt (Dreamworld, Australia) - demolished in 2004, a not bad looper Big Dipper (Luna Park Sydney) - the orginal woodie was good but sadly was destroyed by fire. -

^I just compared SFA's Superman to the mirror at Darien Lake which we had ridden a week earlier, there was such a difference in the ride experience. Also from what I have seen in polls in the past the SFA SROS has been highly rated. I'm dying to know what the big announcement will be, hopefully it will be something really positive. -

Isn't Steel Hawg 120 degrees? I hope Guinness doesn't find out. -
Lemon chill guys says, launched 500 foot duelling flyers for Cedar Point - it's called Yellow - the Coldplay coaster, and the speakers will be blaring those monsters of soft rock in both ears. Baby I'm ready to go! I'm sure there are people on this site who know exactly what it is, and they're doing laundry right now because they keep peeing their pants laughing at this thread.

Favorite first drop on a Steel Coaster

^I didn't think Farehnheit was as good personally because it doesn't hit the drop at the speed Maverick does. I'm looking forward to the launched Eurofighter at Hansa Park, that might be a pretty good drop coming on the back of a 62mph launch. -
I love it, that place looks like a hoot, I hope Happy Gilmore never finds that place - "you die, T-Rex!", "you die, Orca!", "you die, Frankenstein!". Thanks for the PTR.

^The first drop was such a surprise on Gemini like whoah that was intense. Another one that impressed was Vortex at KI, I like how it had a straight drop rather than the curving one and how it didn't go straight into a loop after the drop. -

^It's on rcdb as an enclosed coaster, and all the photos make it look like it's a coaster that uses gravity. -

^It's cool I live a lazy 12,000 miles from Knoebels so I won't be going back real soon even though I'd like too. It will be interesting to see what they do with it, whether it will be an indoor/outdoor sort of thing like it was at Morey's or just be an outdoor coaster. -

I'm so glad they got it, when I was at Morey's Piers last year and I was wondering what was in that building. Now I'm even keener to get back to Knoebels now, and I was already like a hyper puppy about going back to Knoebels even before the announcement. -
Worst Themed ride you have been on?
downunder replied to kenshinmac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did anyone notice that Skull Mountain wasn't as dark as before, at least since my last visit in 2006. I'm going to have to jump on the Disaster Transport bandwagon, at least when I last visited in 2007 they had that stupid Alaska spiel turned off when you go up the lift hill. -

Maybe not the best but one that surprised me was Gemini at Cedar Point (it was the first coaster I ever rode at the point, ah the memories). -
Thanks heaps for the information you've given and everyone respects where you can't divulge something without approval or because it is confidential information. I think Phil would be surprised at how many people all over the world are seriously interested in the Orphan Rocker. It's an International Coaster Of Mystery.

I love the colours in those photos, mate I think I just had an eye orgasm.
-
^It's been sitting there for decades so what's some more down time. I've never seriously thought that would open but I would check it out if it did.
-
There is a Dive Machine listed as unknown for Happy Valley in Shanghai on rcdb, that one maybe? I doubt it would be for Australia, as good as that would be but you never know. I'm also wondering if they would fabricate the track in Australia given we are a major steel producer, I think they may have in the past. I guess we'll find out soon enough. Maybe it's the B & M Hyper for King's Dominion but I think that was wishful thinking on the part of people who should know better and also realise people aren't as stupid as they think.
-
^I think the Australia trip will be more of a cultural trip and a quick credit run to cover our mostly sucky coasters. Maybe R & E can get them to fire up the Orphan Rocker at Katoomba - that would be an achievement, that is probably the hardest credit to get on earth.

Thanks for the comment, I'm the same, I really wanted to go there based on the line up. If you are in New York. I would definitely recommend visiting Six Flags New England and Lake Compounce. I'm not sure how far away it is but Knoebels is fun though it's a bit more down to earth rather than the giant, sanitised big park experience. Kennywood is also fun, a bit more of a traditional park as well. -

^Thanks, and I have certainly enjoyed your world tour reports as well. I guess what made it so frustrating with Superman is that many of us had been on the Darien Lake one a week earlier and that was identical layout but ran so much better.
