  1. We Are Broken - Paramore That's not a tear, I've got dust in my eye.
  2. Voyage didn't make my top ten, I just liked other coasters better, and on the day I rode in 2007 it didn't seem to be running that well. I didn't ride it at night either which didn't help and is something I regret, at that time I didn't know enough about coasters to know that many are much better at night. The rides I had on the day were devoid of airtime, the turn around was in the not-fun category of roughness, and it was trimmed before the tunnel - I did ride the coaster many times in the front and back. In spite of that, I did rate Voyage close to the top ten - it has a great layout, and I love how it goes right out into the forest. Some day I'd love to experience the Voyage again and see if I get it on a better day, though this will not be anytime soon, if ever.
  3. I think SFMM should be the # 1 West Coast park on your list if you like coasters. SFMM has a lot of coasters that really compliment what you would have experienced on the East Coast, in some cases they have the best of kind and other stuff that is unique. Tatsu and Riddler's Revenge are the best flyer and stand-up IMO, Deja Vu is a good coaster not found in too many places, X2 is awesome IMO and very unique, Goliath offers a different hyper coaster experience to the East Coast airtime machines, Apocalyse is another good CGI, and Superman is unique as others have said, it also should be much improved. Lots of others are worth a ride even if they have lost much of past lustre like Viper, Revolution, & Colossus. Ninja is fun, and Scream and Batman are okay but not unique. Most of all, tons of credits...
  4. The wonder of rounding the Cedar Drive going past Raptor, then Millie, then Mean Streak to Hotel Breakers on my first visit to CP in 2003, I wasn't jaded then. Later riding Dragster for the first time just before midnight. Memorable for the wrong reasons, my first ride on a zipper when I was maybe a little below the height limit, I got hammered, that ride seemed to last 30 minutes. Also that night riding Luna Park Sydney's old Big Dipper - barely made the height limit.
  5. Harry Potter...ooops, that's not at WDW. Indiana Jones, oh, they don't have that either. Expedition Everest for me, but I'm sure if they put in Superstar Limo, voters would be swayed.
  6. There's a mechanical ogre out the front of this haunted dark ride at Europa Park, that randomly spits water at people. Maybe not a high degree of wetness but one of our group got nailed in the crotch.
  7. ^I was in Canberra today for sport - the lair of the filthy ranga - Juliar.
  8. surely you don't mean Julia "no carbon tax"Gillard I was talking about the comedian. Gillard - that dirty, stinking, lying ranga - she doesn't fall into the "dislike" category, she's in the f***ing up our country category. And we thought K Rudd was a bitchy douche.
  9. Carrot Top just plain scares me, Jerry Seinfeld, he could make anything unfunny and Jesse James - what a douche. Most Australian comedy show hosts - never has so much been given for being able look smug squinting at an autocue.
  10. ^You've got Prowler a little high there Laura, and many of your selections don't agree with myself - luckily I'm not the typical coaster enthusiast who would feel affronted by that. In all seriousness, Coaster seems very underrated probably because many with a broad mutual ridership like myself haven't been on it. I find TPR tours often boost coasters like this because if it's a good coaster and a lot of people get to ride who have been on lots of other coasters, it gets up the poll. I'd love to ride Coaster personally, it sounds crazy. Coaster sounds a lot like Phoenix, buzz bars and lots of airtime, would that be a representative comparison?
  11. I didn't know this was a necrophilia forum - I thought that would be more an ACEr thing. So how did my top twenty fare, I was a little out of wack but some coasters were especially good during ERT sessions like Rutschebabnen at Tivoli where the brakeman gave us fantastic rides: 1. Balder (Liseberg) #7 2. El Toro (SFGAd) #1 3. Phoenix (Knoebel's) #4 4. Boulder Dash (Lake Compounce) #3 5. Ravine Flyer II (Waldameer) #5 6. Hades (Mount Olympus) #19 7. Thunderhead (Dollywood) #14 8. Raven (Holiday World) #21 9. Cornball Express (Indiana Beach) #35 10. Rampage (Alabama Adventure) #15 11. The Voyage (Holiday World) #6 12. Lightning Racer - L (Hersheypark) #34 13 Lightning Racer - T (Hersheypark) #36 14 Kentucky Rumbler (Beech Bend) #28 15. Thunderbird (PowerPark) #16 16 Silver Comet (Martin's Fantasy Is.) #45 17. Viper (SFGAm) #43 18. Hellcat (Timber Falls) #26 19. Rutschebanen (Tivoli Gardens) #61 20. Comet (Hersheypark) #101
  12. It's 40-45 miles between SFNE and Compounce accoprding to mapquest, they are fairly close.
  13. I was sceptical about Phoenix and why it was rated so highly, until I actually rode it, amazing - though I wonder if would be as good if it didn't have the buzz bars and you were stapled. Actually, if that was the case it might break your legs off. My top four wood coasters are hard to rate, any of them could be number one - it's like having four children and having to choose which one has to die, but I just can't go for the grouping method for my top coasters.
  14. This poll reminds me I've still got a bit of catching up to do on the wood coaster front, even though I've been on 4 out of the top 5. I've only been on 10 of the top twenty. El Toro is a fantastic coaster, it is the best first drop I've experienced - especially in the back row, and the three airtime spots after that are as good as it gets, all I could ask for is more. The only reasons I rated Balder higher is because it has 9 spots of equally amazing airtime, they don't staple you in, and the flatter trajectory of the airtime hills made for a more consistent ride experience through the whole train, not exactly the same of course, the back was still best. El Toro's first drop is vastly superior though. If either coaster materialised locally, I'd be beyond happy.
  15. I thought Joris was nice but I didn't rate it highly because I prefer thrills, and it is more a larger junior coaster. One thing that only partly comes out in the poll is when people rode the coaster. For instance I have Hades up fairly high because I had some amazing night rides in 2007 but I haven't ridden it since. On the same token, I had very mediocre rides on Voyage in 2007 and haven't ridden it since either. I can only base my ballot on the exeperiences I had, if I hear a coaster has deteriorated since I rode it I can't take that into account, because i haven't had that experience.
  16. My comment was tongue in cheek, in reference to fanboy fervor for Prowler. I haven't been on Prowler - but I like to say it's the worst coaster I've never been on, just to make fun of the whole thing. I'm sure if I'd ridden it I'd have it around the same rank as Kentucky Rumbler and the GCI in Finland. Korea is relatively easy for me to get to, closer than the US by a long shot, I think I need to become a Seoul brother at Everland.
  17. I can hear the wails of the Voyage fanboys all the way down here in Australia, music to my ears. My top 5 were almost the same except for T-Express which I haven't ridden - I had Balder in the No. 1 spot, being the only major difference, and Phoenix and Boulder Dash around the other way. I think Prowler was rated way too high - stir, stir.... I say well done to Mitch on another great poll, and I think the results are a fairly good representation of the genuine preferences of the coaster community.
  18. Judas - Kelly Clarkson
  19. No Do you think Christina Aguiluera should go hide in a cave for a very long time?
  20. I think BGE and KD is a pretty good choice, there's a lot of coasters along with some high quality ones in there. Another suggestion would be Six Flags New England and Lake Compounce - they don't have as many coasters, but they do have Superman (aka Bizarro) and Boulder Dash respectively, which are two of the highest rated coasters in the world.
  21. I'm just going to hope against hope it'll be an Intamin hyper until my hopes are unequivocally dashed.
  22. No, but I worry what may have transpired in the previous 900 pages. Have you ever been publicly nude?
  23. Born For this - Paramore
  24. The topple tower at Dollywood, I got absolutely nailed - I was the only one, ha-ha sucker. Riptide at Knott's, a complete lower body drenching, and I thought those water jets were for show. Now if we were using Dan's level of unacceptable wetness as a unit of measure then here is my hall of shame - the one's that scored a 1,000,000 plus units of unacceptable wetness, the one's were I was still shaking water out of my ears on the plane home, like I knew I'd get wet but not come out like I'd taken a twenty minute shower in my clothes: Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges at IOA, I felt like I been water boarded at camp x-ray for a month afterwards - I really wanted punch out Bluto. It's really an upcharge because everyone tries the $5 dryer at least onece to find out it doesn't dry you at all. The Rapids Ride at SFOG, this was excellent for what it was, more like a river the channels were so wide, but I think there must be a Facebook group dedicated to shooting me on this ride, I got nailed mutilple times by every water cannon. Roller Soaker at Hershey, again I knew I'd get wet but s***, do I look like Aquaman or something? I only rode it once but this was a credit I truly suffered for.
