Closing Down A Theme Park
astroworldfan1 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What I mean is having something to do at night keeps teenagers who so to a theme park from vandalizing buildings, robbing old ladies and keeping kids out of jail. Is that more clear? Kind along the lines of a Boy's and Girl's club. -
Closing Down A Theme Park
astroworldfan1 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That was funny! Well, you also have to think about the people it effects. It effects the kids, adults and the economy. Without anything to do in your area, kids are more prone to be in gangs and get in trouble. Think about all the people who lost their jobs when Astroworld closed. Some employees were there since opening day in 1968. People are laid off. Some people had to move away, just to push a button for a roller coaster. And then when they do move away, they can't get hired. So thats another factor to think about when a theme park closes. And I don't know why people "disliked" Astroworld. What was so bad about it? It had some great coasters at some time. And from the look of Robb's and Elissa's Review of Astroworld, it looked like everybody enjoyed it! -
Holiday in the Park
astroworldfan1 replied to Zonga's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I deffantly think Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's christmas tree is bigger than Disneyland's castle! -
This makes me so mad when a theme park closes for good? Take for instance, Miracle Strip. Miracle Strip closed, was torn down and condos were going to be built in it's place. Then, a year later the companies who were going to build the condos run out of money! Like Astroworld, it's been closed since 2005 and nothing has been built on top of it. Instead of having a theme park with thrilling rides, good food, and history, it just sits untouched for years. Does this make anybody else feel sad inside?

PTR: Gilroy Gardens 11/17/07
astroworldfan1 replied to speedracer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like this park, it seems very pretty with a few good rides! Did anybody know that Gilroy Gardens is a Cedar Fair park? It's nice for a Cedar Fair, not ti trashy with Rugrats and other things like that! -

Intamin's New Website
astroworldfan1 replied to Sticky Nicky's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I couldn't find the roller coaster section. Its not even listed. They might be working on it right now. Anybody else found that? All they have are tower rides, thrill rides, simulators, and wheels. -
Intamin Drop Towers
astroworldfan1 replied to MF310ryb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does Intamin still make parts for the 1st gen tower? Or do you have to get them off a defunct tower? -
I was at SFoG on Friday, and I was talking to one of the hostess at Monster Plantation and I asked her, "Are they taking out Deja Vu?" And she said I think they changed their mind about taking it out because it is having a good year this year. So there is hope for Vu. But was closed when I was there. Lickskillet would be a good place for Thomas Town, but not where Deja Vu!

Six Flags America Accident
astroworldfan1 replied to piggy4891's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They must have just thrown that story together in 5 minutes!! They didn't even take on picture of the the ride! They got all the pictures form the Six Flags website!! O yeah, I loved the highlighted text part! That lady did not have wiplash!! And I doubt that there was an explosion! Hey be thankful, it could be worse! -
Hello, i'm new! Deja Vu is going to be removed, and Thomas Town is going where Deja Vu was (this may not be true). But I don't understand, why don't they just put Thomas Town at American Adventures, a park geared towards young children? Does anybody agree? I and im going next week and I hope Deja Vu is open! I think its leaving because Sharpio wants to eliminate all coasters that are too costly to maintain.
