  1. The added areas seem so minimalistic as well... I mean, one ride each in Grizzly Gulch and Mystic Point respectively with a bunch of just interactive play areas else where? It would have been nice to get at least one or two other smaller attractions in each "kingdom" as well (maybe a Soarin type attraction in Grizzley Gulch?), but because of the placement of the lands, it looks like they really wouldn;t even have room to expand these new lands even if they wanted to. I think they really dropped the ball not adding the previously rumored Pirate's land...
  2. Knoebels... and unless you plan on riding essentially only coasters all day, buy the individual tickets, not the all day pass... on Fridays, you can get a $10 book of tickets for $8.50... a Ride-All-Day pass with the wood coaster add on will run you $37. For the cost of one ride all day pass, you can get 4 x $10 books of tickets with $3 left in change... enough for 16 rides between the two wooden coasters. Personally, I find that even on the best days, I will only ride the wooden coasters 3-4 times each leaving plenty of tickets to get on everything else... and usually, I leave with tickets left over (Knoebels ride tickets NEVER expire). To get the full value of the Ride-All-Day pass, you really need to ride a LOT of big ticket attractions and ride them often (and remember, Ride-All-Day passes are not good for the Haunted Mansion, you'd still need to pay seperate for that... but if you have tickets, you can just pay with tickets). All too often, I'll just go and buy two $10 books of tickets, and if I want to ride more after that, just pick up another $10 book, and if not, just head out. But, I leave that up to your disgression on how to pay.. that is if you do decide to go to Knoebels...
  3. The best part is, this would be the SECOND of such parks! The original "Love Land" is alive and well in Korea! Though, it really looks more like a really crazy sculpture garden at an art gallery than a "theme park"... (WARNING: some of the pics in the below links are pretty graphic!) http://www.jejuloveland.com/index.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Land_(Korea) http://www.myconfinedspace.com/2006/12/22/love-land-south-korea/
  4. Who says it's going where Two Face was? Granted, that space is a lot bigger than a lot of people think...
  5. Well, it's no coaster, but I think deep down most people will agree that this is more along the lines of what the park really needs... if nothing else, good to see the park is planning ahead! 8. IMHO, El Toro airtime >> Apollo's Chariot airtime >Voyage airtime (At least Voyage 2007 airtime as that's the only year I got to ride it). Based on the speed that the Diamond back trains appear to be going over the hills, my prediction is that the airtime Diamondback produces will not be on the El Toro level, but should be one of the more extream B&M hypers airtime wise. Maybe not exactly ejector air, but certainly some strong/long floater air.
  9. Well, that's bad news for ACE as the preservation conference is set up for the May 15th - 17th with plenty of ERT on FT scheduled... then again, it wouldn't be a stretch for Knoebels to open the coaster a bit pre-maturly and have the official opening between Memorial Day and July 4th... afterall, they opened Twister for the ACE conference several years ago while the carpenters were still building the station and queue and other workers were still connecting support wires...
  10. ^Well, the blog makes it pretty clear that they have begun testing with all three trains, though I don't think you could tell that from just the webcam without watching the cam for a while to see all three trains... http://www.kidiamondback.com/public/latest/blog/
  11. Interesting... very interesting... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA8Dx_dH9Ws
  12. SFA doesn't need a new coaster... well, maybe a family coaster like Tony Hawk or a mine train, but certainly not a full size "mega-coaster." Whet they really need is some new flats and possibly a dark ride. Their coaster collection currently is solid, though certainly in need of repairs for some rides.
  13. Anyone actually get that e-letter Screamscape was referring to? If you did, the emails usually contain a link to view the email as a website, if you could post that link, it would be much appreciated...
  14. Well, Disney's always wanted a park in the North East (rember Disney's America?) I wonder if 500+ acres just a few miles outside of Washington would be suitable...
  15. As if there was any doubt, look who showed up on all the Six Flags main pages today...
  16. Depends on convenience though too... SFA sends all of their PTC trains (Wild One and Roar) to PTC every year for rehab. Then again, PTC is only a few hours up the road from SFA and apparently PTC gives them a really good deal. I would find it very hard to believe that SFMM would send their coaster's train all the way across the continent just for annual rehab... especially considering the park has MANY more coasters (including other B&Ms) that would need similar yearly maintenance.
  17. Most B&Ms with splash downs do a lot of their initial testing with no water at all so the cold weather shouldn't be much of a factor. Besides, those first few test runs the trains will be running at their slowest, no need to hamper that slow speed any more by running them through the splashdown.
  18. Sounds a bunch like... http://www.laronde.com/larondeen/mummy/index.html One has to wonder if the attraction will be headed to SFM after it completes its run at La Ronde (Last day is Sept 7th)...
  19. What could it be? Hmm... well, more than anything else, I'd love to see SFA get a nice big speed slide. Something along the lines of Wahoo Racer like SfSTL is getting, or possibly a tall body slide tower with one of those big, nearly vertical drops... SFA's waterpark lacks both of those slide types and either one would really help complete the waterpak... just my thought...
  20. Hershey does quite well with a VERY family friendly Halloween event!
