  1. I should have some more pictures up sometime tomorrow. I'm just finalising my layout and fixing a couple of banking twitches. This, like my previous two wooden coasters, Jolt and Toledo will be fully hand supported. Which means everything other than the catwalks will be made by me. It's something I enjoy doing. If you want to see pictures of my custom support work then have a look at the link below. http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p5482
  2. Well I've seen his coaster and mine kicks ass compared to his.
  3. I understand where you are coming from. CS was notorious for being home to many snobs who expected you to be a professional mathematician or physicist before they would ever consider riding your coaster or say anything good about it. I often refer to them as the pump queens. Some of which have coasters that are admittedly among my favorites. Over time I just learned to ignore their attitude and just enjoy the coasters only. But I think it was this snobbery that was part of the reason their attendance was rapidly decreasing over last few years, as evident by the decrease in uploaded coasters each week. There has been less prey for the vultures to feed on. I was what you consider an "active member" over on CS. I rated pretty much all the coasters I downloaded and offered high quality feedback to help improve the quality of the coasters being posted. Just because some people take criticism harder than others does not give anyone the right to take the piss out of what was once "the" place to go for coasters. There were so many great coasters posted there, including some of the most complex coasters i've ever seen. Expedition WeeForce by Redunzelizer being just one of many. Not only were the majority of coasters posted of high quality, but the members were all great members of the community and respected others. The rates that were given to my rides are what got me to where I am now. If it wasn't for the ratings many members on coastersims recieved then some of the great designers might not have been as good as they are now. Feedback helps to develop people and helps them to better themselves as individuals. Thats why the coasters on CS were of a much higher quality than some of those posted on other sites. People just need to learn to take criticism. Either that or just don't post your rides there. If you can't take it, don't join. It's as simple as that. There are reasons for the rating guidlines and rules on the forums, there are agreements in the US called COPPA. I'm sure most members here know about that and what it's for. Without these rules many members would be subject to cursing, abuse and alsorts of nonsense. So there are reasons for every single rule that is put into place. Many people are going to miss coastersims, I know for one that I will. It was a great site that really helped me to develop my skills. It got me into custom supporting, and now i'll happily custom support any rollercoaster, even woodies. It helped me to become aquainted with tool building and the AHG as well as learn about some many other things, such as pumping and tunnel testing. That site helped me to learn a lot about NoLimits coaster and it helped NoLimits to further itself. There are no other communitites like it that had Interviews with Ole and many special features. So when people say good riddence it winds me up. Those people need to grow up. You'll be seeing CS soon enough...
  4. No comment! Edit: Also can you please post the grading scheme, so that we know what criteria we are working towards? Makes our lives a hell of a lot easier and stops us from geting disqualified for stupid reasons.
  5. I'll tell for you... xpresscs@yahoo.com says: i have got a lift, drop, hill, and um.. another hill..
  6. I see you only have 10 contestants. Is it too late for me to join in?
  7. First of all I have to say that I have passed all my Calculus/"Advance Mathematics" courses already, without any "tools" (calculator) to help me with them. Since a real mathematician only do things by hand Jealous??, I don't need to use tools since my later rides are easy equal to those that are "tooled", so I haven't bothered to use any of them. It gives me a lot more satisfaction by creating a ride with only NL instead of letting a program do all the hard stuff for me. I can explain the reason why I don't like tools by doing an analogy with some Math. Solving a really hard math problem in your head shows skills, but letting a calculator solve it for you is just an easy way out. It's the same way with hand-building and tools in NL. I never questioned your use of Calculus or your skills within the editor. I know your a great hand builder. Some people choose to use tools, some choose the easy way out. It's life. What i'm not happy with is people making others do things the hard way and totally ridiculing them because of their choices. No ones forcing you to use tools, so why force those who feel more comfortable using them to be banned from using them? Seems a little bit unfair and completely biased to me...
  8. Your only saying that becasue you are completely against those who spend time learning calculus and advanced mathematics (which by the way is used by real designers) to design rides. Either that or your just jealous that you are unable to create a coaster using these tools. Being completely biased like that is a bit... well, i'm not going to go into that. Just because some people prefer to create rides using tools does not mean that they should be slated and frowned upon just because they used tools. I mean, how many artists use photoshop to create amazing art or use it to edit photographs? Many... How many Directors use tools too add special effects to movies? I don't see anyone complaining about tools being used with other things like that and I don't see anyone complaining about the tools being created for use with NoLimits 2 either. If you feel that you are able to use tools then feel free to have a build off with me. I'll even stay away from using the FVDs just so that I don't have a too larger advantage. Peice out...
  9. I'd like to test. Also, if your looking for someone to hand support it, i'm here. I'd love to support it if the track works good enough. I need something to do cuz i'm ill.
  10. Ok, it's coming up to that time when you need to submit your entry. To sumbit, please attach your coaster to an email and send it, with the Email Title "Take the Plunge" to the following email address. Make sure that you include your User Name. contests@coasterchamber.com
  11. POV EDIT: you can actually use the URL function to post links. It's much easier for everyone! -Joey Thanks Joey!
  12. I'm having a go, no Guarentee's on an Entry tho... Edit: With the no Powered Launch Rule... Are Coasterballs allowed?
  13. Your in the UK. The price on that chocolate bar is in our english currency.
  14. I believe they are coming here to the UK. 2 is for the number of good new coasters opening this year. 1. Being Saw - The Ride 2. Being Mambo Jambo at Flamingo Land 123 I believe is the number of Degrees on the new El Loco's drop. So I think they're coming here to ride Saw, and do a construction tour on the site of Mambo Jambo.
  15. anymore takers? http://www.coasterchamber.com/community/contests.php
  16. The template does not count as part of the tunnel test rules. Apart from the Red box. Nothing can enter that box.
  17. That include the supports, nothing apart from the scenary is allowed to leave the blue box.
