  1. I wish that companies could counter-sue these people based on stupidity alone and make them pay the company back just for being dumb and wasting people's precious time. I broke my wrist playing basketball once, but I didn't sue the county park system where the basketball court was...as Elissa said, I sucked it up and moved on.
  2. Great to hear all of the good things about Drury as I know that they have one across the street from Canada's Wonderland too. Just got my AE Hilton Honors card yesterday, so it's likely Hampton Inn's for us for the majority of our hotel stays. And Zach - it is a no annual fee card and not just introductory for one year!
  3. The weather could certainly be interesting then, but I am super glad that they are doing this...I think that it's a great idea!
  4. Don't worry, If you go to an enthusiast event you wont have to stick with the group if you don't want to and it is pretty easy to sniff out those who need to be avoided even at 7am. ^ And if it's a hot day, certainly by noon time. TT looks AMAZING - can't wait to ride it in May!! Congrats to Robb too!
  5. I have never stayed at a Drury Inn, but have heard good things about them. If they had free BEER and popcorn, it would automatically be my new fave hotel chain. All I envision with free soda is a bunch of kids hopped up on Mountain Dew screaming and running around the entire hotel in a caffeine-buzzed state driving everyone bonkers - with the exception of the parents that have probably locked them out of the room. lol
  6. Wow - a lot of love for Talking Heads Remain In Light, which is definitely one of my faves too! Too hard to whittle it down to one...waaaaay too many choices. 7. ^ Same. I freaking loved this water park. I particularly loved Paradise Lagoon where you could jump off the rocks - and the small slides with the long drop into the water were cool too. In this day and age, it's surprising to see something so Action Park-ish still around. Thanks for posting the report, Adam - the new slides look great!
  8. ^ Yeah, not sure if I could try a MILF either...LOL! I will certainly give you a shout when we get closer to vacation time!
  9. ^ I am pretty sure that it's no annual fee, which I found almost shocking. I will take a closer look when I get it in the mail because that may have only been for the first year. I'll let you know for sure!
  10. ^^ Have you already booked the hotel you will be staying at? We just got a pretty sweet deal on lodging through the SDC website that includes 2-2 day tix, plus 2 Titanic tickets and 3 nights accommodations for less than $500. Their website is pretty sweet and you can pretty much make up any package that fits for you and your family...I was certainly impressed. I imagine that Easter weekend might be a little more than that, but given that it's still early in the season, maybe not?
  11. ^ Based on your recommendations and the fact that my companies preference is Hampton Inn when I travel for business, I recently applied for the HHonors American Express credit card (should be getting it any day now). It's not Hyatt obviously, but I figure that I can get more points with the Hilton card throwing in my business travel. I figured why not? I (like you) pay my card off in full every month and Wells Fargo has slowly been taking their perks away, so I am ditching that one for this one in order to stock up on points for free rooms like you and your GF do. Thanks for steering me in that direction, Zach!
  12. Happy Rip Your Face Off Friday!
  13. ^ Andrew - I have to ask...have you tried a MILF yet? I am going to have to see if we can check this brewery out when we're down there. Let me know if you're around and maybe we can meet up for a pint!
  14. ^ True - that's a good point. Someone earlier mentioned them keeping Leap The Dips and Skyliner. I could see that happening along with the other stuff that they had, although Starliner seemed to be in much worse shape than LTD when we visited about five years ago - it will be interesting to see if they give that one the ax. It would be great if they could turn it into something like a Fun Spot, but I could also see it with the aforementioned attractions with LTD, kiddie rides and maybe a merry-go-round being the only rides left. I hope their Octopus can get a refurb and find a new home...that was the best ride there, IMO.
  15. ^ Yeah, I'm not a fan of some of these newer hotels and their paper-thin walls either where you can easily overhear everything that is going on in the rooms on either side of you. And waking up hearing someone having wild, passionate sex in the room next to you at 3 in the morning is a bit uncomfortable. Hookers near Kings Island though...I wouldn't have thunk it. We have stayed at the Hampton Inn (same one as TPR during Banshee Bash) and I can vouch that it's good. There is also one an exit or two towards Cincinnati that the name escapes me. All I know is that it was walk-able to Carrabba's and that was all that mattered.
  16. ^ It was like 48 for the high the day that we were there in December and it was open. Perhaps they just put out that sign mistakenly versus the generic "This ride is temporarily closed" sign? Weird. It was cold as SH%T that day too!
  17. Woo-Hoo - Part 2 has been released! This is much milder than the first release 'All Is Well At The Station'. Great hop balance and not as strong as other unfiltered double IPA's that I have tasted. There is a story behind the six part series of releases...this one is called 'A Wrinkle In The Fabric" I like it!
  18. ^ Sorry to hear that, Zach - that really sucks when you're making the attempt to save for your retirement and they just take more away. I started a traditional IRA last July and contemplated a Roth and decided against it. Glad that I decided not to now as I didn't quite as hosed this year on my taxes than I usually do. Oh, and I almost forgot to rant...it's fuc%ing snowing here again....aaaaaarrrggghhhh!
  19. ^^ You can literally spend the entire day just people watching at Venice Beach. Makes NYC freaks look pretty tame in comparison. lol
  20. ^ I'm sure a certain someone will Tweet something in the middle of the night and take full credit for this.
  21. ^ Those are some GREAT photos - thank you for your contribution!
  22. ^ It thought it looked like a clone of Avalanche Run. lol
  23. ^ Hmmm...it almost makes one wonder if most of the rides except Leap The Dips will be removed? "Family entertainment centers" usually make me envision just what they are mentioning...batting cages, go-karts, mini-golf. Throw in an arcade, ice cream shack, kiddie bungee jump, a kiddie coaster, and maybe a few rides. Are batting cages really all that popular? It always seems like they are mostly empty when we have visited places like that. Hell, even when they started first showing up at places like that back in the 80's, I never really saw that they were all that popular.
  24. Nice report, Bert...definitely hope to get to this park eventually and we'll for sure let you know so that we can meet up with you and Nick!
