  1. [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=terminator_testing_2c1f[/coastertube] Terminator Testing video in HD here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfP5VIxfVjE Terminator Testing!!! Some dudes checking out all that wood. The sign peeking over the wall. Yup, this all looks about the same. This shot is 900% better with lens flare. I still like the little bendy part of that turn! "Did anyone order wings and beer?" This all looks very familiar. The station is sponsered by Tyvek. I spy dudes with orange hats! OMG! What is that?!?! YES!!! IT IS ALIIIIIIIIVE!!!!! Speakers. So Christian Bale can yell at the riders. Ok, ok, enough of the lift hill all ready! Go over the top! WHEEEEE!!!!!!! DOUBLE WHEEEEE!!!! BLURRY WHEEEEE!!!!! MEGA SUPER JAPANESE BLURRY WHEEE!!!!! And it's time for a little bit of station fly-by! Hey, what's that big box doing following the train? Those aren't water dummies....they are TERMINATORS!!!! Darkness falls and I count 11 cars. (plus one giant box!) Somewhere in that madness is a train...can you spot the train? This is what it looks like when the Terminators travel through time. The next update will be from MEDIA DAY!!!
  2. ^ I have split your Goliath video post from the Terminator thread because...well....a Goliath video doesn't belong in the Terminator thread. --Robb
  3. To be honest, I didn't really get a goot shot of the front banister. It was getting a bit dark and I really only got *one* good run before I lost most of the sunlight. So instead of doing too much of zoomed in shot I opted for a wider shot so we could see the train in action. The video is rendering now, but HD video takes a lot longer to render than standard definition so it's taking a while... --Robb
  4. Just to confirm there are 11 cars per train. Well, 11 cars and a "giant box!" --Robb
  5. Working on a video now. Here's photos of the ride testing to at least hold you over. Speakers.
  6. Wow! What a great article. I'm kind of partial to this comment though... All my work with the Disney animators paid off! --Robb
  7. ^ The bottleneck isn't so much filming the footage it's putting it all together. If we were to do a "Theme Parks in the RAW" DVD or even the "Dark Rides of the World" DVD it would need to be put together by one person so it all feels consistent. The footage we have. I've probably shot footage of at least 100 different dark rides over the world, most of them on a 3-chip high quality DV camera, some of them even in HD. And even if we used footage contributed by other people which is very possible (we did the for RAW 3) it would still have to be edited together and the DVD produced by me. And unfortunately, I'm the bottleneck in this case. To be honest, we've done the "affiliate label" and "other people contribute" type of DVDs and productions before, but they just didn't go over quite as well. I think people like a DVD that has "one face", "one focus" and is consistent throughout. All I ask is just be patient! It will happen eventually! --Robb
  8. ^ It really is. I would say the biggest "challenge" of a DVD like that though is the limited amount of rides you can put on each disc. You don't want to sacrafice video quality to put more segments on each disc, but you also want more rides than 6 to 8 per disc. I think a minimum number of rides should be 20 per DVD set (10 per disc), but given how long some dark rides are that actually might be tough to pull off! --Robb
  9. I'm going to strongly recommend you stick to your word and stop posting in this thread. Your comments are starting to get on a personal level and borderline attacking. Clearly you're singling me out and I don't appreciate it nor is it the smartest thing you could be doing. Aren't there other threads on TPR you could be more productive in or contribute to? --Robb
  10. We should have a new update tomorrow, BTW. I'm hoping with a testing video! --Robb
  11. Probably because each incident would be handled on a case-by-case basis. Not saying that this incident DOES fall under that, just saying that it COULD. I'm sure the parents will not be found at fault, and instead I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of ruling which now all the UK fairs will be required to spend unnecessary money to increase the amount of fencing around their rides, which is sad, IMO, because I personally think that sends the wrong message. --Robb
  12. ^ Could fall under: Criminally negligent manslaughter Criminally negligent manslaughter is variously referred to as criminally negligent homicide in the United States, gross negligence manslaughter in England and Wales or culpable homicide in Scotland. It occurs where death results from serious negligence, or, in some jurisdictions, serious recklessness. A high degree of negligence is required to warrant criminal liability. A related concept is that of willful blindness, which is where a defendant intentionally puts himself in a position where he will be unaware of facts which would render him liable. Criminally negligent manslaughter occurs where there is an omission to act when there is a duty to do so, or a failure to perform a duty owed, which leads to a death. The existence of the duty is essential as the law does not impose criminal liability for a failure to act, unless a specific duty is owed to the victim. It is most common in the case of professionals who are grossly negligent in the course of their employment. An example is where a doctor fails to notice a patient's oxygen supply has disconnected and the patient dies
  13. Oh, I'm really glad you mentioned this! I wanted to do something a bit different from past Coaster Expedition closing segments. I kind of borrowed the "photos" idea from the closing of CE Volume 9, but the "power" music is kind of new. When I was putting it together it was just not feeliing right, but when it was all done, I thought it worked REALLY well! I personally thought it ended the DVD on a very high note. Having a strong opening and closing has always been very important to me. I felt that Vol 9 closing was strong (although the song was kind of more mellow), Vol 10 closing was REALLY strong, but Vol 11 closing just didn't live up to those other two. So I wanted to make up for that in Vol 12. I hope I succeeded! Thanks again for the comments. --Robb
  14. ^ Ok. Thank you for sharing. No offense dude, but this thread wasn't about YOUR DVD project, it was asking about if TPR was planning to do a "park tour video." --Robb
  15. Exactly. So you're calling everyone in this thread foolish? I think the fact that your 17 and obviously NOT a parent makes you think this way. The rest of us, who are not 17 and ARE parents have a little more insight into the behavior patterns of children and other parents than you are giving us credit for. REALLY? So you're saying that the death of this child is completely acceptable because "even the best of parents can have a bad moment." "Ooops! My child died! Look at that, huh? Chalk that one up to being my bad moment! Wow...he was only two. Guess I used up that coupon early, didn't I! Hey you wanna go grab a beer?" When I read your post, that is what you're communicating to me. Again, you're 17 and can't possibly understand what it's like to have a 2 year old child and the responsibilities that go with it. Yet you're willing to argue with those that do like you're an expert on the subject. --Robb "Do you see my point?" Alvey

  17. We actually DO know this. The original poster was being sarcastic. --Robb
  18. I have changed the caption to exactly what you said. Please let me know if there are any other captions you would like changed. Just give me what the caption should be and I'll replace it. Sorry that one caption caused so much confusion. After many hours and hours of work I put into those updates and the videos, I *really* didn't think it would be that big of a deal nor would it break the story of the update. As I can see, I was wrong. In the future, I do apologize if it takes even LONGER to put up the updates as I see I now have to focus test them with a random selection people first to make sure there are no captions that are confusing or misleading and then I can have the updates go live. --Robb "Just trying to make TPR a better place for everyone!" Alvey
  19. ^ That's exactly right. You have to remeber that in the updates I do try to "tell a story" and that sometimes I'll have to use photos that don't *always* match up, but help move the story along. --Robb
  20. ^ From Hurricane Harbor? No way. --Robb
  21. Tyler's video works now. In case you missed it.... [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=tyler_superhero_4zml[/coastertube]
