  1. You guys should all go Re-Tweet this to show some support:
  2. The ride had some technical difficulties and did not open today. Going back in a few days once they get it all sorted out to do the filming. Don't worry, we'll have footage of the ride soon! That being said, the park was awesome to work with today and very accommodating! I'm sure you'll see some amazing footage from us in the next few days!
  3. New POV of Junker! I think the ride looks fantastic!!!
  4. WOW! Am I seeing this correctly? It looks like Team TPR raised more than DOUBLE the amount of money than any other team! Can someone do the numbers and see if that's correct? Looks like the top three teams across the board are: 1st: Team TPR: $38,849 2nd: ACE for Kids: $18,860 3rd: The DIS: $17,546 Congrats to everyone on all teams as that's amazing, but super congrats to Team TPR! I had NO IDEA we were that far ahead! CRAZY!!!!
  5. Yeah, I'd say that statement from Alton Towers along with the fact that they are closing other rides that are not Gerstlauer rides pretty much confirms what we had thought. I mean, outside of some absolutely crazy computer programmer glitch, human error is pretty much the only scenario that makes sense.
  6. This post was written by a spammer. Very clever, but it's not real. Please ignore. Account has been removed.
  7. Doesn't Hershey have a longer season with all their spring, fall, and winter seasonal events? And I think they open daily sooner than SFGAdv does, too.
  8. ^ I thought it was determined that the empty train was at a stand still, no?
  9. One word: humanity No! You are WRONG!!! What do YOU know about theme parks?!??!?! Ugh, I hate people...
  10. What? That's not even close! Pilgrim's Plunge DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT!!!
  11. ^ Yeah, Ring Racer was also a very different set of circumstances. I'm talking about a ride that opened, took thousands upon thousands of riders, had an accident, and then the park removed the ride completely. It's a cut and dry scenario and I don't think there is one. The fact that we are even discussing this means we've reached a point in this discussion where there isn't much to talk about until some new data surfaces.
  12. ^ Orphan Rocker never actually opened to the public. But nice try. Oh, and it's still sitting there.
  13. OMG. Please stop posting stuff like this people. We are supposed to all be smart enough in the theme park business to know this would be completely ridiculous. Outside of a couple of older coasters in Japan, can anyone point to a MAJOR NEW RIDE that had an issue that the park then up and got rid of because of it? No. So if in the totally off-chance something like that DID happen, it would be an industry first and a totally bizarre and shocking turn of events. Sorry, I'm not buying it.
  14. ^ Yeah, part of me wants to react angry towards the employee, but then the reality is if it was just a ride op that was outside of the ride, what could they really do? And when you have loads of guests coming up to you every day when a ride is down asking all sorts of questions, pretending they know all about rides, telling you what's wrong, etc, it's natural to react the same way in this case as you would in the hundreds if not thousands of other cases that came before it. I feel like the employee was probably just doing their job and doing what they were told to do, and I'm sure the guy telling the story is over-exaggerating the scenario to fit his agenda.
  15. I don't think what you're saying is correct. You're suggesting that anyone who writes anything regarding their visit to the park, which could be hundreds of dollars if they had booked rooms on property, etc, is 100% uncaring about anyone in the accident. I highly doubt that would be the case. I can tell you from my own personal experience having been in the process of totally booked a group trip to Six Flags Over Texas that was to visit just a few weeks after the accident there, by all means I was communicating with the park to find out what would happen with our visit. But at the same time I was also going on national television to discuss the accident, talk about those involved as much as I knew, and reassured everyone that rides were in fact safe. Just because someone inquiring about their visit, which they have a personal connection with, doesn't mean they might not care about the outcome or wellbeing of others. Don't be so short sighted.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when people have said it's "prone to stalling in this area" I don't think it's been happening on like a regular basis. In fact, didn't it not stall at all in this area in 2014? Catwalks & platforms are extremely expensive to build. I know the X2 one cost SFMM in the neighborhood of a million bucks. So if it's not a huge issue, and it doesn't happen THAT often, and they are able to evac the riders fairly quickly, I'm not sure a catwalk is totally needed. Obviously they can't plan for an accident like this to happen, so they can only go off what has happened in the past. I have only been aware of a couple of stalls that actually happened on Smiler, but I think the press would like you to believe it happens every other day.
  17. I'll address things as I see fit. It's MY forum!!!! That being said, PM sent.
  18. You know what's really sad? LMGTFY doesn't really work on mobile devices anymore! So I haven't been using it as much. Nice report, BTW!
  19. You can find out here: www.cedarpoint.com
  20. Have you READ any of the last few pages?!??! No, everyone is NOT ok. There have been some serious injuries and one girl had to have a leg amputated. Do you think Merlin will just come along and wave his magic want and make everything right? WTF??? Please don't come in here and make stupid posts if you haven't bothered to READ the entire discussion. Thanks.
  21. I honestly have no idea what you're trying to say, but it's totally confusing and very stupid. My advice to you: drop whatever topic this is you're trying to explain and move on to something else.
  22. Oh, please.... I refuse to believe that people wouldn't ride the coaster again if it re-opened and was deemed safe. Especially if it ends up being "human error" and there is nothing wrong with the ride itself. Try knowing a little bit more about how parks and guests work and react before you post. We have seen a lot worst accidents at higher profile parks and they have pulled out of it just fine. Example: Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland... DISNEYLAND of all places.... Ugh, I just hate seeing posts like yours, sorry....
  23. Again, I have posted that we will be shooting footage at the park TOMORROW! There has already been one video posted, that's enough. Please do not continue to post more links to videos. We will have ours up as soon as possible, if you cannot respect this you will be banned from the forums. Thank you. --Robb "I shouldn't HAVE to post this!!!!!" Alvey
  24. We are currently at $37,184! Please do a final push to get us to $40k!
