Photo TR: A Tale of Two Brand New Florida Attractions
CoasterLuv replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
oh now i kind of get why harry potter fits better in IOA than Studios, because It would fit perfectly as an extension to the lost continent. I also really love the Simpsons themeing! EDIT: Combined both of your posts into one. You can always go back and edit your original post if you think of more to add.--Joey -

i kind of thought if busch hasn't had a new waterpark attraction since 2003 i wouldve thought it would be a lil more themed that that. like i thought the jukebox slides would have a platform that looked like a giant jukebox, even if was only a 2 dimensional wood cut out picture of a jukebox that stood on each side from the gound to the top platform of the slide complex on each side. -
wow, 1st x-trains, then 2 water rides open back up, now the falls, and thomas town looks like it would make some hilarious photo ops. I'm restoring my faith with the new management, that i think i will finally get that overpriced plane ticket and fly out to CA to hit up those west coast parks i procrastinated so much on.

Gotta love the Wiered park trip reports. Sucks you couldn't find the dark coaster. that would have been great to see what the theming on it was. -
OKAY DONKEYS! MOST OF US AGREE THAT WHEN HERSHEY OPENED STORM RUNNER, IT STOMPED CEDAR POINTS' TOP THRILL DRAGSTER IN THE GROUND. NOW WE'VE GOT TWO SIMILAR (BUT NOT EXACTLY THE SAME) CATEGORY COASTERS AT THESE TWO PARKS, OPENING WITHIN TWO YEARS OF EACHOTHER, ONCE AGAIN. I KNOW WE HAVE YET TO GRACE THE RIDE PLATFORM OF THE AWSOME FAHRENHEIT BUT JUST AS A LITTLE FUN PREDICTIVE COMPARISON, JUST BY LOOKING AT FAHRENHEIT AND ACTUALLY HAVE RIDDEN MAVERICK (OR EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T) WHICH DO YOU THINK WOULD BE THE BETTER RIDE. (WE KNO WHAT YOU LIFT HILL JUNKIES WILL CHOOSE. LOL). my bet, Maverick , because of those awsome semi-inversions.

TPR's first ever Hard Rock Park PhotoTR
CoasterLuv replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not only that but the Hard Rock people never got into the amusement park business until now.(correct me if I am wrong) So I am actually quite impressed by the work they have put into this park. It looks like it has an IOA feel to it, but a bit different. I really want to go!!!! lets remeber hard rock park leant its name and theme so they are involved bu the dream team and others actually came up real ideas and aspects of the park. Its not like hard rock park said we got renoun restaurants and stores, lets take a bunch of our money and build a renouned theme park. Remeber this is mostly private investers and loans to to get the 300 million dollars to break ground for this park. those 2 cleared areas that was lamars TPR look real promising. I smell water ride clorine. And atleast we know that they look to keep adding to the park on a regular basis. unlike IOA which opened up like the 8th wonder of the world and now finally after years of being opened were about to get a real new ride. Dont read that wrong I love IOA as much as anyone. lol -

Loving the restrooms. That was a really brave move. can someone get a pic of the other restrooms, i remeber seeing on the early HRP website that most of the bathrooms will have something special. including mirrors that have hollograms of music stars in them that appear when you look in them. In that rest room how come the pic black girl has the be the one looking all interested, while the other girls are poking fun. lol. -

Um this looks like one of the few actual true pretzel-like invresions ever, wasn't the only coaster with a true pretzele-like inversion on the old moonsault spin......or something like that coaster in asia some where, that they finally dismantled cuz it wuz too ruff? i'm excited about this. i'm confused about what type of lift iz being used for the 90 degree climb. -
wow one of the few terrain flyers. I haven't been on an original yet. just the b&m many six flags superman ultimate flights and 2 versions of the vekoma flyers. this one will be easier for me to get to being that i don't plan on getting to california for the first time until late next year. But i did an experiment. i think the coaster will dip in the water because if the splash fins are angled correctly, swooping gently into the water as the picture portrays, the water does splash outward away from the train. try the experiment in the tub or a pool using something flat. if you angle it correctly swinging your arm around in the swooping motion like in the picture the water will kick up outward. i see A.B. is starting to take a liking to this effect.

wow this had a link to mostly clear footage of the bat at kings island. Ive been looking for for years for clear footage of this coaster that was closed a year before i was born. Now i see why they said they had to replace most of the shocks every night. that thing was wicked! but safe?!?!. I'm wondering how Arrow ever thought no banking was gonna work. even though that was supposed to be the point of the swinging cars. I wish they could have revamped this whole coaster to banking and put vortex in a different area. I would have loved that long twisting conveluted layout. -
I agree, here, don't go here as a coaster enthusiast, go here as a park enthusiast. The B&M supposedly Jewl of the park is so basic it ridiculous. Everything is lined up in a perfect line. They might has well just had an out and back woodie to fit in the same footprint that would have probably been better and cheaper. Not to mention the toy train coasters, as i like to call em. Already sitting on the shelves, piece em together, plug em in, and your ready to role. lol. I like your name for them better so im gonna start using it.... plug and play. lol. But on a good note, the Interative water fountain, hidden special effect mirrors in the bathrooms, music theming and the dark ride is what is going to draw me to this park. I always dreamed of a park themed of music, each area being a different genre of music. This is as close as it is gonna get to that so, i'm going to enjoy the Hard Rock theme and not expect much of the rides. After seeing the rides constructed, i figure i no longer need a season pass. I'll just keep my Cedar fair and Busch Gardens season passes for this year. thought i was gonna need to add another one.

Could it be for the same reason that Mack has build rides with the elevator lift system? To help conserve space in parks that might not have it? Maximum RPM seems to be a very compact ride. Perhaps this was just Premiere's answer to an elevator lift where the current Mack version can only have 2 ride vehicles on it at one time and this iteration can house 4. How's that for a fairly logical explanation? --Robb Well actually, it's more like 3. One would be empty because the train would have been released while it was at the peak. But still... it's a whole nother train which still picks up capacity. I don't think it was for space saving or capacity, because they could have used an elevator lift which would most likely run faster than a ferris wheel lift. the FW lift is probably going to take longer to release the cars, as the track on the FW lift seems it would be slower at aligning properly with the track of the coaster structure (winds, balance) all that stuff. I think it was just more of a "We have the 1st ever...." gimmick/ Just as an oddity. besides the Ferris wheel lift the rest of the coaster looks pretty blah. Like all of the coasters besides LZ in the park its mostly just banked diving curves and a few helixes back to back. Instead of spending money for a new Innovative small ride, I would've been happy for a traditional medium to large more dynamic coaster. (I sure a 97 degree Towering Coaster wouldve have cost near the same) LOL.

hmmmmm, I don't see the similarities at all The lagoon, the Hulk like coaster, the Gibson/Lighthouse, the archways, it gives me a very IOA feel personally. I could be crazy too. Yes, Yes, I agree, I've been keeping major tabs on the park since it will be one of my home parks, And that is the 1st thing that came to mind since they only had artist renderings of the park. I believe they had IOA in mind while designing the aspects of the park, especially when they stated "believes that myrtle beach is the next orlando"

i love italian job, and volcano. was ashamed it's impecable safety record was shattered last year after cedar fair took over. it was like the ghost of the angry paramount logo or something. accident on SOB at Kings island, and Volcano at KD last year, then carowinds on BORG this year. i hope they open a new coaster at KD before taking down Hypersonic (if anyone is stupid enough to bye it,,,would make a great themed rock n roll ride for the new hard rock park in myrtle beach) -

Steel wrote: Really? That's strange. To this day, the restraints on S:UF at SFGAm are the most comfortable I've ever experienced. X-Flight's restraints put a lot of pressure on my shoulder/collar bone area, and I could never figure out how to keep all my blood from rushing to my fingertips. I AGREE Steel. I've been on B&M's at SFOG, SFGA, and found the seating more comfortable. I also like the separated ankle restraints on the B&M's at SFGA that in my opinion gives a more flying experience. On the Vekoma flying D's your feet are more on a floor so it lessons the open air feeling to me. Never the less, I like the Vekoma Flying D's better as a whole because there more intense (the B&M are so smooth and seem so forceless with the exception of the Pretzel loop) -

the orignal batwings 3rd name change. woohooo. well theres less reason to go to geauga lake. can anyone tell me what 3rd park would be the best to put in place of geauga lake for my ohio parks trip. closest state coming from north carolina to ohio. so it's gotta be within the drive. Six flags Kentucky Kingdom....exactly how small is that park? the sexiest coaster fanatic to date. -

Wow sticklandcc. we are on the same page. that was the 1st thing i thought about as i scrolled through the pics then came to ur post and see u were thinking the same thing. I would think that the horshoe especially would be hairline fracture central. but I guess the speed we are anticipating by looking at the part of the coaster that leads to those spots we're eyeing, may be slower than we think. breaking somewhere that we don't yet see maybe.
