  1. Hey guys, It is time for another Bag-Of-Crap Giveaway! Here is how this one will work: I have changed or added links to different places on the TPR Forum and the TPR Facebook Page. I will post photos that will be clues as to where the link is located. There is a catch though. Some of the links are false links or dead ends. Think of this like one of those Choose Your Own Adventure books. If you choose the wrong path, you will get a photo that is a dead end. Here is an example of how one will look: If you find a photo that looks like the picture above, you have reached a dead end. To win the Bag-Of-Crap, you will have to earn the most points. There will be four rounds before the Final Round. Each round will have a "dead-end" photo and a "right-path" photo. You get two points for finding the right-path one and one point for finding the dead-end one. To earn the points you need to be the first one to post the photo in this thread. You will also be able to earn bonus points for how well you figure out what each clue means. Like the "Where in the World is Robb and Elissa" game you must show your work. You can't just blurt out park or ride names. If you find a link, you must explain how you found it. Confusing enough? It should become more clear once we get started. So here it goes! Round #1 Clue #1
  2. Do they teach Reading Comprehension in school anymore?? Where did Robb say it was a terrible ride? For everyone getting their panties in a wad because of this thread, the PURPOSE of it is not to trash the ride, it is to point out that it was not popular in recent years until people realized they were losing it.
  3. I got an iPhone 4, a mitre saw, and some gift cards. I had more fun helping my kids open their presents!
  4. These are some of the better photos we have gotten so far of the construction. Thanks!
  5. ^I always look at missed credits as just an excuse to go back to that park. Go ahead and add to my list missing the Leslie Hall awesomeness.
  6. I need to add missing this event to my biggest disappointments of 2010.
  7. Wow, I somehow missed both of those magazine features when I was a kid. I am pretty sure we had a Boy's Life subscription too. Great update!
  8. ^Yes, you may rent all-day lockers at most if not all Six Flags parks.
  9. You need to wait until the "Favorite Part Of 2010" thread, before you post that one.
  10. Not going to a SINGLE theme park in 2010. How's that?
  11. Any trip report with a Christmas Vacation reference is alright by me!
  12. ^It is not a competition to see who can post the photo first.
  13. Got my DVD yesterday and once it again you guys did an amazing job! I swear whenever I get a new Raw DVD, I think I prefer those, and then as soon as I get a new Coaster Expedition dvd, I change my mind again! Although, I consider myself more of a "POV" fan, you just don't get that awesome personality and silly antics that is jam-packed in the CE videos. Can't wait for the next installments!
  14. This is Robb's request. If you are going to post photos from the GCI's Facebook page, you need to reference the link.
  15. Still haven't watched a second of this show. Not planning on starting anytime soon.
  16. ^^I think where the difference in policy is that the l o c k e r s are now optional. I didn't memorize the policy or anything, so I don't know what it said before.
  17. Remember to post the link to the Facebook page as well. Thanks! And be sure to post the link: http://www.facebook.com/GreatCoasters
  18. Moose Tracks Orange Sherbet
  19. Yeah, I do the same thing. Just look at my location on here. No one cares that I actually live in Corryton, so I put Knoxville instead. For a park that has been closed for almost 20 years now, I don't think anybody really cares what the exact location was. Miami should be all the info we need.
  20. I would say since Robb unstickied the topic it is a pretty good sign that there are no updates left.
  21. According to rcdb (which we know isn't always accurate), Chaos was 2600 ft. while Revolution is 2300 ft. Chaos was such a simple ride from a design standpoint, but when you added in all the projections, special effects and LASERS!! it was a fantastic ride. By the end of the ride's lifetime, most of the special effects on the ride had been removed or just didn't simply work anymore. The only effect left was some kind of weird animatronic dragon/monster thing near the end.
  22. Congrats to ScottBrown for winning the second Bag-Of-Crap! He correctly associated each clue with the correct coaster. Please PM me your mailing address so we can get that sent out to you! Here is a rundown of each clue and how it referred to Chaos: Clue #1: Time Several clocks could be found in the queue as well as projected throughout the ride. A recording of a woman's voice was played over and over in the queue telling those waiting that their "Time was running Out". Clue #2: Expired This refers to Chaos and Opryland now being closed and long gone. Clue #3: Houdini This simply refers to the Houdini rides at SFNE and SFGADv which were made by Vekoma. Vekoma built and designed Chaos. Clue #4: Athens Nashville is known as the "Athens of the south". Opryland was in Nashville. Clue #5: Aerosmith This is a double meaning. This refers to the Rock N' Roller coaster at Disney Hollywood Studios (which was built by Vekoma) and the one that was at Opryland with the same name. Clue #6: Mickey This was just to further connect the Aerosmith clue to the Rock N' Roller Coaster which was built by Vekoma. Clue #7: Boomerang You guessed it, another Vekoma created ride. Clue #8: Parthenon This is another reference to Nashville, where the Parthenon can be found in Centennial Park located in the city. Clue #9: Enclose Chaos was completely enclosed in a building. Clue #10: Closed Opryland has been closed since 1997. Clue #11: Mall A mall called Opry Mills was built at the former park's location. Clue #12: Flooded The park was flooded in 1975. The Opryland complex was also recently flooded last year where the mall and hotel were closed for several months.
  23. Keep it coming everyone! I will accept guesses up until noon tomorrow (U.S Eastern standard time)
  24. The correct answer is Chaos at Opryland! Congrats to QueerRudie for guessing the correct answer and winning a Bag-Of-Crap. There is still a chance to win though! Can you guess how each clue referred to the correct answer? You will receive a point for each clue you can correctly reference to the correct answer. The person with the most points will ALSO win a Bag-Of-Crap! Previous earned points will factor into the final total. Here is the current standings for points earned at this time: Scott Brown: 3 DougMJr: 3 Coasterguy4: 2 Mr. Starr: 2 Jcoaster95: 1 Coastah Freak: 1 Here are the clues again: Clue #1 Time Clue #2 Expired Clue #3 Houdini Clue #4 Athens Clue #5 Aerosmith Clue #6: Mickey Clue #7: Boomerang Clue #8: Parthenon Clue #9: Enclose Clue #10: Closed Clue #11: Mall Clue #12 Flooded
