Now would be a good time to start. So the video says they are adding fog and lights in the first tunnel. The second tunnel is a water mist so that is the water effect. Lets just hope they have fixed the wheel issue if they use the mist in the first tunnel like before. Otherwise this may be the first thing cut when things start to break. The fly through shield will be able to show any color. I am thinking this will be a projected image with color onto something. Lets not forget the tunnel after the turn around. Also I can't remember if anyone else said anything or not but the lift hill had the same tunnel markers on the lift. I could see a tunnel being added to the lift hill. I would have taken pictures but the 5 year ban for camera use on the ride made me think twice about it. Anyone else remember seeing the markers from about 75' to 120' on the lift hill?

Robb makes a lot of great points (too many to quote) Thunderbolt at SFNE is 48", and Pandamonium is 47" (43" to 47" w/adult). And it is known how strict Massachusetts is with amusement parks and safety. Tony Hawk is more family friendly while still providing a great ride. SFNE's Wiggles World was the most family friendly cause all but 2 rides are 42" or with an adult. Having worked at SFNE in Wiggles World most of the kids were under 5 years old. Except for the occasional teen that was being silly most kids just used the area to ride Rt 66 and cut through to Superman. The rides are a good family collection but IMO they should try a different theme to draw the older kids and families.

Ok, i know this may not be a Six Flags style idea. But what if these printed coupons are fake. What I mean is what if Six Flags is using this character to throw us off until the next part of the campaign is made live? Dunkin Donuts may just be a part of the game. I am thinking its weird that these coupons were just released. As of writing this they were still in the store by my house in Central Massachusetts. If Dunkin Donuts had made a mistake about giving them out we would have heard something about the "Bizarro" name or the coupons would have been pulled to wait until Six Flags was ready. And before I saw the pictures and the name, I didn't know who Bizarro was. IMO, I don't think the name fits this amazing ride at all. Not unless Six Flags is planning some Disney or Universal type themeing.

Ride of Steel (Darien Lake) -
It is highly unlikely that Six Flags will change the height requirements for the ride. After all the problems and accidents that have happened since it was build, the state of Massachusetts will most likely give them a hard time. I would think that even with the new trains and the already long break in process, Six Flags would be smart to open the ride on time and not mess with too many things. The new trains should improve the ride but they have to open it and get it right first. Opening September 2009, Superman Ride of Purple

Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV

Lol, it would be a tight fit and a cool effect but the the logo wouldn't be much to see as that frame is not that big. And they welded all the ends together. The only way to get it in place now is to cut it open or remove a piece of track. I could see these Superman logos at the base of the first drop with flames bursting out of them. Like Lex Luthor using his Mind Control thingy on Superman and he is now under control. That would also help with the on board audio. You could hear the fight between them going up the lift hill. And Luthor wins as you crest the top, on the way down you hear him laugh or something. Oh and for the break run if something is wrong, the breaks and your stuck, play the new Six Flags commercial audio with the new Mr. Six?

Its a pretty close match but its missing one part to make it a true Superman logo. Another thing I noticed about the trains are the seat belt locations. I had a tight fit riding El Toro last summer, and I am not that big. But I rode Superman 100 plus times with no problems at all. I think the ends of the seat belts are too far down in the frame. Unless they are not fully in place yet?

I highly doubt the park will be able to change the height requirement. The state of Massachusetts gives the final say on all requirements. The only exception is if the manufacturer's guidelines are better than the states. Another important thing to remember is that Massachusetts has a ban on all T bar restraints (all new ones). This was passed after the gentleman fell out. So i guess we are lucky that they didn't put OTSR's on the ride.

I found a slight problem. If your in the area where you edit your profile. If you click on any of the links for the categories on the left, it brings up an error screen. I copied what the screen said cause it told me nicely. "An Internal Error has Occurred. Please report following error to the webmaster. select * FROM videos v,forum_users m WHERE v.user_id=m.user_id AND v.approved='yes' AND v.public_private = 'public' and v.cat_id=Roller Coaster Video order by v.title limit 0, 12 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Coaster Video order by v.title limit 0, 12' at line 1"

Six Flags May Not Survive 2009...
Jon34MA replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not sure if this is completely accurate and up to date but, doesn't Six Flags Inc. just manage SFOT, SFOG, and SFStL. I thought i read somewhere that the three original parks were owned by a few investors and families. If SFI was to go under these three parks would be kind of safe for the time being? -
If you look at the top of the login pop up that appears when you go to xworks.com it shows your logging into a different site. www.mediacorpplc.com . This site is a media advertising site based in London England. Any park could have made a fake name and location and hired this company to help with a viral ad? Or I am completely wrong. (wouldn't be the first time)

Very good trip report. It looks like an ok park. Were you the only one there? How busy was the park? I wish every park I visited during the year was like that. Man are you lucky. -
Busch may sell parks in reorganization plan
Jon34MA replied to bgeguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I saw this article in my morning paper. Here is the link. Toward the end it has an interesting blurb about a cost-cutting initiative, called the Blue Ocean, to save more than $750 million through 2009, and save $1 billion through 2010. Unfortunately they don't explain much more about it. Click Here -

They have in the past, so far this season no cans that I have seen have any Six Flags stuff on them. (I work at a supermarket not too far away) I know that there are some kind of discount tickets or savings coupons in Select Oscar Mayer Lunchable Fun Packs. I think with these new changes some discounts may be canceled to prevent people from getting into the parks for free.
