time flies (yet again) Sorry folks, i guess i've been too busy with other stuff lately.. i'll try to improve and get some more updates coming during the next couple of weeks.. (still have plenty of things i could post..) anyway.. back to the Scandi trip of 2009.. (that does sound long ago.. and yes it kind of feels that way as well..) Day 13 started with the TPR Grand Prix at PowerPark in Finland, after the Grand Prix there was some time left to spent in the park before another fun bus drive.. Enough rambling, picture time. getting ready for the main event of the day... ow wait.. this is the first heat?? this place was big... and... the karts were quick just to give you an idea of the scale.. somebody is trying to go fast.. like really really fast.. ehm.. who's driving?? getting ready for another heat lining up on the grid will they make it though the first turn.. or will there be a crash... determination... i want to go quicker.. ehm... i did not know we would have to account for traffic driving in the other direction... coming down along the pit straight at full speed.. hard work -> heat -> fogging up... not sure how some folks were able to see anything.... time for a short break.. make some noice time for the big final.. and of they go i'm not sure that the gras will be quicker.. just watch those heads.. apologies for the signs.. drifting... a quick look at the park and the hotel area yes.. that is a hotel.. kiddie log flume at the park.. some booster fun soo many small things to look at and interesting angles fun for all ages time for something else.. more Thunderbird pictures something is missing in this image.. that's more like it but some parts don't need a train to make a picture look good/interesting or whatever you want to call it and yes i like the look of these wooden structures another first drop angle.. coming down the drop blondes.. i think i've found a good spot.. hair... hair all over the place.. and some more happy faces.. that's it now.. -
Have you checked the link at the top of the page called Club TPR?? there's a list of benefits there....

Efteling Discussion Thread
Hhappy replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So today i went for another visit to Efteling. Fingers crossed it would not be too busy... i had good hopes of getting some images of the new coaster (and give you guys an update) and maybe even some shots at other rides in the park.. turned out.. it was busy.. So in the end i got some pictures of the coaster.. and went home again to upload them. have fun and i hope you like them. a litlle after 10 i arrived at the park... nice crowd.. ok, let's focus.. the new ride, still planned to open jult 1st this looks familiar the water level is low... but progress has been made since my last visit.. quick look in the direction of the station looks like a train has been on track no love yet for this side.. boat from another ride.. i guess i can add some other pictures as well.. spot the difference this should be a good picture spot.. i'm pretty sure the water level will go up in time.. lots of wood and track and metal and wood ehmm.. what's that?? let's see if i can get a little closer.. some technical stuff looks like it's pretty big.. but there's more time for a small overview from the water side.. lot's of blue stuff to hide... more blue stuff and green trees efteling and theming.. still impressive now this looks like fun that's what the blue stuff was for.. and a tail... waiting for a train more theming lot of people were working inside and outside the station more wood going in.. looks like they made it across the ocean different dragon angle tree on a small island.. but wait.. what's that black thing.. ehmm looks like some music (or sound effects) will be added to give you and idea of how big this thing is.. the dutchman.. and a long line.. but it looks like people liked it dragon head pole.. more dragon this should provide an interesting angle.. through one of the small openings in the fence.. did i mention that it looked like they were working on the inside of the station looks like a chain is there no chain, but it looks like a rope.. all prepared to pull in (or up) the chain it looked like they were checking every single bolt and nail on the side they ran a train on the previous night Python love can't wait for the trains.. and yes... this is efteling as well.. by this time i had seen enough crowds.. so i went outside the park for a quick check.. chain.. no chain.. after fiddling around with my camera i managed to get this shot of the side of one of the trains.. and the last one, can't wait for this ride to open and see how people will react to it... -

Roller Coasters in the Raw HD! On Blu-Ray!
Hhappy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So today i decided to bite the bullet and buy myself a Blu-Ray player. While doing that i also decided to get a newer tv (upgrade from hd ready to full hd) anyway.. my parents were here and after pulling the tv out of the box they were like.. why did you buy this? the quality looks bad/worse then what you had. So i hooked up the blu-ray player, put in the Rollercoasters in the Raw... Opinions changed within a second and they were amazed by the quality of the image and especially the coaster footage. So yeah, job well done. And Insane was fun as well -

works perfect for me... just leave the "&feature=player_embedded" part away from the url.... That is not a necessary part of the youtube URL -

The plan for today was to visit the following parks: Plopsa Indoor Coevorden done Slagharen (which is only half an hour by car from Plopsa) and Hellendoorn and/or Walibi. Due to the rain this day (and me getting soaked) i went home after doing my run through Slagharen, so no updates (this time) about these last 2 parks. Maybe later this year. Anyway, back on topic.. Slagharen. Last time i was there was a very long time ago. I somehow remember the looping coaster as being my first coaster... Besides that the park has changed a lot between my memories and this visit. My photoshop skills are not amazing.. and due to the rain coming down almost the entire time.. most of the pictures will be a bit darker then what you're used to (from me) apologies for that, but the weather is something out of my control. Hope you still like the images etc from this park.. Yes i made it first bit of the park you get to see when crossing the bidge before entering.. don't remember this credit from my previous visit.. so i had to ride it front of the train station building and yes.. by this time it was raining pretty hard.. people were taking shelter at the food place... .. always look on the bright side of life.. whistle time.. logflume and more logflume after walking to the other side of the park.. it was dry enough to pull out the camera again.. there are plenty of things to do and ride in a pretty small area.. just in case you forgot where we are more coaster track theming statue slides.. always fun towards ths circus & show theater it's dry inside back to the roots.. yes.. this park started as a place where you could ride pony's and do some other things but wait.. there's more another swinging ship ride wet and cold... pirate ride entrance and the ride itself fun ride a bit of theming i assume this was their onride cam system Oltimer and flowers time to start walking back into the direction of the entrance loop and train flying carpet ride there used to be a ride behind that white thing (snowy hill) but i'm not sure what it was.. nor am i sure if it's still there.. waterslide in the rain.. why not.. i guess he was expecting to get soaked one last look at the looping coaster on this side let's walk down mainstreet food

April 30th is also know as Queensday in the Netherlands. This day a lot of ducth people dress in orange and get drunk. It usually is one big party (except last year but that's another story) I prefer to spent my days in another way then drinking and since a new park was opening this day i decided to drive up there and try to do a photo report (or something like that) Time permitting i could/would also visit some other parks in the area. But more on that later.. Hope you like the pictures and that they give you an idea on how big the place is (and what can be done there) At this moment it feels like a park for families with small children, there is one credit (yeah) and some other fun rides. Time will tell how this place will progress. Enough blabla, picture time i'm almost there about half an hour before opening i made it to the entrance.. welcome first blurry look into the park (after the curtains were moved) first things first, credit check... harr harrr station area beginning of the lifthill and a blurry (fast) train theming ride sign small food place theater area time to check out some other rides and attractions hi larry i've this one at Iaapa, looks cool with the added theming slide sign green slide theater love the painting on the wall frog ride a bit blurry but i guess you get the idea. quick look back into the corner i just visited.. plenty of theming in this place caroussel big food place play tree sign tree did i mention that i like the effort into the theming.. ball play area.. yellow slide time to move on.. Thank you, I was thinking about a visit to Walibi to keep up with some sort of tradition.. but i've come up with with another plan.. There's a new park opening that day in NL.. Hopefully crowds will not be too bad.. but should be fun.. and yeah.. i did not do water rides... glad to hear you had a good time as well and made it back home safely. Should be fun to plan another visit somewhere

Just noticed a new update for windows 7 which might fix some of the "not responding" issues.. according to Microsoft the update KB980408 fixes the following things (amongst others) Windows Explorer may stop responding for 30 seconds when a file or a directory is created or renamed after certain applications are installed. I'm searching for the names of these certain applications... but yeah.. might be interesting

1: it's in the Dutch speaking part but very close to France (it felt like there were more french speaking folks in the park then dutch speaking) 2: This was a day trip.. aka i drove 600km on Saturday and 600km on Sunday to visit two parks... Have fun this week in NL, i might be heading to a park on Friday (Queensday) but it's not 100% sure yet..

A couple of weeks ago i had the idea to visit a couple of parks in Belgium (aka score some new credits) Things started rolling and before i knew it.. it was time. So after visiting Fort Fun (Germany) the previous day it was time for another early morning and a nice (long) drive to the next park. Bellewaerde Park in Belgium was the target for today. I did not know that much of the park before heading there and was just aiming for a relaxing day with some friends. Yes.. today was one of those rare days where i would not be visiting a park by myself (when not on a TPR trip). Thanks for the company Beeja, Hansrubens and (sorry i forgot your name) friend. Although we're not like the Brit-crew.. i had a great time and enjoyed this relaxing day at the park (although my legs are still killing me.. i need to get in better shape before the trips start) Belgium and water.. what a combo and fun enough blabla picture time (and yes.. there will be a lot of them ( 3 posts)) feel free to comment and i hope you like them. yes.. i made it.. and yes.. the sign is in 2 languages.. so a bunch of pictures will be like this, sings for the park index.. and the ride itself flower castle, anyway.. time to start walking and explore the park a little.. possibility for close animal encounters hmm, what are they looking at? that shape reminds me of better weather... on to the next section i think i see a credit.. no lawnmowers needed looking back at the station wink wink... come and check me out.. first things first.. sorry folks.. another "fine" dutch product what's in a name? warm up run with empty train.. not your every day station yup, another one in the poket prayer time love the hair can somebody translate? and yes.. it does go backwards as well, love the eyes keep on smiling.. what's in a name a ride and a bit of water getting closer... bulls eye el toro and one more soak for the fun of it.. next stop que area ehm.. there was lightning i surrended, please stop the lightning ok, now this is looking more familiar.. just waiting for that tune.. why am i stuck here pulling on a rope?

I think you are correct on this. The green is the area were you are allowed to ride by yourself and the yellow is where you need somebody taller/longer to accompany you. I guess it's mostly a reliability thing that they have this. The ride itself ain't (that) rough and i can see why kids would like to ride it and parents have to go with them... It's an "easy" way to make more rides accessible to a bigger audience. not sure what you are aiming for.. i can tell very long stories (which nobody will read) or just give the info (and still hardly anybode will read them) i can try to make jokes (and i suck at those) or just keep it simple and/or even say nothing.. This is me.. and i would like to give everybody a "presentation" of what a park looks like and what can be done.. and then it's up to you (the viewer) to make your own opninion. Why? simple.. i don't want my mailbox spammed with complaints when somebody is having a bad time at a place i went to and had an amazing time and wrote a review like it's a must see place.. Besides.. i've been to a fair share of parks by now.. and one things for sure.. being someplace with a group is usually way more fun then going on your own... Wild Eagle goes up the hill, about half way up compared to the observation tower. I'll see if i have some half decent picture of that later today (once i'm back home) From what i've heard.. the speed was pretty good (as some folks talked about the wind and making it harder to breath...) but i did not ride it (so can't say anything to that) due to the lines and it being closed later during the day..
-
As far as i could see the Wild Eagle was not an upcharge ride. According to a sign you had to hand over 1 euro.. but i'm not 100% sure what for. Looks like you would get a certificate after riding it.. and i assume this would pay for the costs of making those. I did not get to ride it since it was closed when i finished my tour to the top of the hill.. I guess i'll have to go back someday..
-
and yes.. there's more.. here's the second post. Larry.. hope you like it so far.. interesting specs... attached to this station like building.. and this sign is attached to that building as well.. not sure what to think at this moment.. track... let's see if i can get some better pictures of train on track.. being nerdy... big eyes Vekoma... snake "interesting" thing.. they did sent you around twice without stopping... european details and some random happy people.. stunt/dive show sign.. i did not see the entire show.. just a small part.. trying to warm up the crowds here's some heat almost in the water... more wild eagle details/things looks like one more credit.. looking back at the area i just walked through just hanging around.. not sure what this is/was scary guy looks like a funhouse. do the "Bart-men" and yes.. you could do some horseback riding here as well.. see? time to get that last credit story time first drop fun.. ride the back row if you get the option.. they did sent you around twice some random people part of my view when enjoying lunch another entrance station time to get some Alpine coaster images.. track.. looking down.. top of the hill but you could get even higher.. time to check out the view.. wheel.. as seen from the top of the tower on the hill Mine ride didn't feel like leaving my bag behind.. so i did not ride...
-
So today i went to Fort Fun in Germany http://www.fort-fun.de Could tell you a long story about the reasoning behind it.. but i guess you don't care.. so i'm not going to. Instead i'm just going to present a bunch of pictures of a bunch of rides and attractions there. Feel free to respond and i hope you like them. due to the number of images i'll make 2 posts.. so after driving for 3 hours.. i made it i guess i can check out some more parks this year.. entrance theming picture of the park map.. water ride more rides in that direction.. park train.. work in progress in this area.. not sure what was in this box.. but it was loud.. very loud.. time to move on, kids play area dive show stage and something interesting in the background Wild Eagle.. aha, Wild Eagle but wait.. there's more.. Alpine slide station (more pictures later) more Wild Eagle Logflume and no.. this slope was not an exception when walking around this park.. it's a decent work-out just one of the many food places Hi Larry looks like fun ok, this looks like a fun flatride.. keep on smiling.. swing credit time... station theming flags train on track.. but there's more yihaa another small lake and some boats to play with next credit station and front of the train random flat ride old cars train on track another sign. another "old" car station building.. ok, time to move on.. another sign random theming
