I'm glad he has a picture of me right after I gave up and just walked for the last 1/4 mile of the ride. -

Great report, Marcel! I hated that stupid Congo River Expedition ride! -

I love Knoebels. Sounds like you had a great time. I don't see Flyers or the Skooters on your ride list. Hopefully you just forgot to write those down, because they're two of my three favorite rides in the park. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Barge84 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been gone for the last couple of weeks with TPR, so I missed this Timberliner announcement. Just caught up on the thread and thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. Maybe I caught it on a good day, or like Robb told me, maybe it's because I was on Hades 360 a few days before, but I absolutely loved Voyage when I was there last Tuesday. I absolutely hate rough rides because they really bang my legs around (I'm 6'6"), and I can't say that I thought this ride was all that rough. There were a couple of rough parts near the end, but beyond that I was blown away with this ride. I rank it just behind El Toro for my favorite wooden coaster. I had a pretty negative opinion of the ride before I went on it, so I wonder if that had something to do with how much I liked it. I was really worried that it was going to beat the crap out of me, and when it didn't I was really happy. Hopefully Holiday World figures something out so they can keep this thing running as well as possible all the time. -
Texas/Midwest 2013 Tour Mini-Updates!

I've always been a believer in Occam's razor, and the Time Machine theory really does make more sense than the alternative. -

Great report, Erik! That spinning kiddie was the craziest thing I've ever been on. I normally skip out on the kid coasters, but after seeing it go through a cycle I hopped in line. The ride op had to physically stop our car from spinning about 30 seconds after the ride ended. -

It's not just a fat issue, it's a length issue for some. You'd come up to my chin. Longer legs make the lap bar sit higher because it raises your thighs up. But... by all means generalize away. As for the fitness remark, come duck hunting with me in flooded timber and walk in water thigh to waist deep in neoprene waders all morning long and see how long you last. Just a friendly challenge. One poster with zero reason to lie said the restraints changed from fri to sat to sun last week. Wonder if they tinkered with them some more during the week. You got bigger man boobs than me. Hope the wood doesn't swell, the forecast isn't promising. I'm the guy in the last picture, and I'm 6'6" and also pretty big. I've lost a lot of weight, but yes, I'm still a fattie. I was able to ride tonight. -

If you get on a plane right now you could be there tomorrow to help me get on, Steve! We're 0 for 2 on RMC rides so far this trip. I'd hate to miss all 3. -

Tickets for both days have been purchased. Not sure if I'll look at hotels now or after I get back from the Texas/Midwest trip. -
Photo TR: Chuck Finally Visits Cedar Point

Great TR, Chuck. I'm finally going to Kennywood for the first time in August, so I'm pretty excited about that. I really need to get up to Waldameer sometime and try out RF3. Glad you enjoyed your time at CP, I'll be getting back there with the Texas/Midwest tour for the first time since 2001. It's been too long! -

Pulled the trigger on a plane ticket last week after seeing how great the price was, so I'm heading to my first WCB this year! I haven't been to SFMM or KBF since 2001. Can't wait to get back to each of those parks! -

Great update! Hungover Steve is my favorite (he failed to mention that in his Facebook updates). The pissed off owl is pretty funny as well. -

Loving the trip report so far. If Texas/Midwest wasn't coming up soon, it would really be bothering me that I didn't go to Japan this year. Next time, TPR. Next time. -
Had a great time at KD today with Team TPR! We were fortunate enough to have one of the GKTW families come and talk to us at lunch. It really put things in perspective, and seeing how grateful they were made it all worth it! Just an amazing time. I'm so glad that I decided to come to Virginia instead of sticking around the Midwest. Met a ton of awesome people and can't wait to participate in the event again next year. I even made it onto the TPR twitter feed a couple of times, even though it was under the wrong name once.

Yep, lots of hills and a lot of criss-crossing, as someone mentioned earlier. My pedometer said that I walked just under 10 miles when I was there on Sunday. Mind you, that was over the course of about 11 hours, but still... -
2012 Theme Park Attendance Report

Not sure about Knott's, but I wonder if Disneyland's drop in attendance was caused by the price hike for annual passes. -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

I've had experience going to the park when heavy rain was predicted and it was amazing! Until it started to rain. It rained for about 10 minutes at 11 am, and then nothing the rest of the day. I was worried on Saturday because they were prediction biblical storms, but nothing happened. Glad they scared everyone away! -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Went to Hershey yesterday with some family. They were expecting severe weather in the area, and I think it scared the crowds off. I've never seen an emptier park. The longest we waited all day was about 10 minutes for Reese's Extreme Cup Challenge. Skyrush had about a 10 minute wait in the morning, but after noon it was a walk on for the rest of the day. My 4 year old niece was with us, so we spent a lot of time doing kiddie rides and flat rides, but we never waited for anything. Just an amazing day. I've been really hard on Skyrush after doing ERT on it last year during the New Hotness tour. Now that I understood how to ride it, it might have taken over my #1 steel coaster spot. That first drop is just incredible, and the airtime is insane. Yes, I had to brace myself throughout the ride, but it really helps with the "thigh crush" issues. I'm also a big fan of them releasing the restraints while waiting to get into the station. People were really happy about that. Fahrenheit is probably my 2nd favorite ride in the park, followed by Storm Runner. It's a great trifecta of Intamin rides. I really think this park has one of the better lineups out there. Glad I came back again this summer, as I was kind of underwhelmed last year during my 1st visit.
