  1. To be honest, I'm holding the entertainment industry partly responsible. They took those child stars and was quick to put them in the skimpiest clothes as soon as they turned 18... from some of those pics of Jamie Lynn plastered with makeup, they couldn't wait for some... making girls think it ok to look like they're on their way to their job on the street corner... while guys were looking like slobs wearing baggy pants with their butt sticking out and oversized shirts pimping the ladies. I just hated to see videos where female artists were rolling around in mud, gyrating or popping their butts into the camera, selling sex to promote their albums. I won't even go into how Alicia Keys (when she first hit the scene) said she wasn't going to do any of that and concentrate on her music... then she got that big contract and the industry was quick to snatch those braids out of her hair (probably pulled out some grey matter in the process) and put her in a mini skirt. She's hookered out too. I remembered when she was performing with Stevie Wonder on an awards show. "Who is that?" was I could say. That's how radical it was. Claiming to be classically trained wearing a hot mini. Yeah, that's inspirational to young girls. So with all that, I can imagine impressionable girls find it hard not to think that being grown up involves looking like the girls on the video. Now those girls, (Linsey, Britney) are all used up and drugged out. Hope the young girls don't take that as example. They should just turn off the tv and read a book... if that's what the industry is trying to tell them to be like... and keep their self-respect. If anything, the girls should learn that not following their "role models" will make them better off. Terry
  2. Remember when I said her mom was just trying to get a check? Well one of them not coming in right away... http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20167088,00.html I think a few rewrites will be in order. So far there isn't anything inspirational or spiritual goin on to warrant publishing her book from a company publishes inspirational books and Bibles. The Star may want it with a few rewrites... New Title: "My parenting skills got my girls knocked up and crazy" Amen. Terry
  3. ^Your baby eh? Let's do a little math: 30 + 16 = Jail time & Sexual predator status I usually don't add anything less than 21 to 39. Anyway, looks like those Spears girls are setting real examples for the kids. Mamma wasn't doing her job with the sex ed talk... she was too busy throwing them in front of that camera and collecting those checks. A mess. Terry P.S. When you're 39, dating anyone < 32 = headache. Some people haven't learned that though.
  4. ^You know Wes, you do a great job as a mod on this site, if I hadn't said it before. And you let these kiddies have it, especially after you and others continually warn them and they STILL rush towards their own banning. I just look at some of these threads and just chuckle... being banned for your posting style after a few weeks is not cute. I certainly don't envy your job, Wes. Keep up the good work! For those people that have problems creating decent posts, if you get a warning or locked thread, just take a break from posting and see what others are doing. Learn by example. And pay attention in your English and Creative writing classes. You don't have to be perfect (Lord knows I'm not), but at least I try to read what I want to post a few times before hitting the submit button. When I type, I know my thoughts go faster than the words that actually make it in the post. Terry
  5. ^Exactly. To be honest, it sounds like the only people that were raising a fuss are the politicians. Baseball owners want players to perform for them because that's what they're paying them for. They know the deal, just enjoy the game. Have they done a similar report for football? Lord, I hope not... that list would be too long! There's no way that many guys can get that big without steroids. Terry
  6. My rant today is about people taking whole bottles of condiments back to their table when there are little cups available to take how much you need. I went to this fast food restaurant specializing in grilled chicken and after I placed my order, I walked to the condiment table to make a take out cup of onions and hot sauce. Now normally they restaurant puts two bottles of hot sauce at the table and you just put what you need in the cup. Both of them are gone, so I figured some selfish knucklehead has taken one of the bottles to his table like he's the only one in the restaurant that uses it. So I like to go over to the table and embarrass them and snatch the bottle back. I just finished my workout so the muscles are bulging out to make matters worse... I see one of the bottles at the table where this guy and his wife are sitting so I go to retrieve it. "Other people need this bottle too!" I snatched the bottle and he jumped out of his seat. "O-of course sir" was all he said. I walked back to the condiment table, got what I needed and put the bottle back in its holding tray and left. Idiots. Terry
  7. Personally I don't see the reasoning behind putting a gun in a purse. If you get robbed, will you have time to pull it out? This lady wouldn't. Leave it at home. If you are that threatened, get some mace and put it on your keychain and carry it in your hand as you head to the car. That way if someone jumps you, you at least have it ready to spray. The only scenario for a gun in a purse if someone pi$$es you off and you want to get them back so you reach in your purse... Terry
  8. I still can't believe after all these years this site that I had is still up. http://bellsouthpwp.net/h/o/housedeb/tonibraxton.htm I had it when I had DSL at my house and put up a page. In the link about I read Toni Braxton's album before she lost her contract. It was a mess! I ended up moving it to my houseofdebbie.com domain after I exceeded it's daily bandwidth everyday! People loved that ghetto prom! Terry P.S. Look hard enough and you'll see a skinnier me from 6 years ago... well except for the belly that I cut out of the pictures
  9. ^Uh Uh. This one is scary! What is that little boy doing!?! His the sister's face is priceless. She knows the deal!
  10. Robb! You spoiled my surprise christmas email cards for this year! Oh well! At least friends down here don't know they're getting "Brotha Claus" and a coupon for a lump of coal! Terry "Don't you love the quality of Sun-Sentinel.com" Weaver Santa looks like he wants to smack the sh$t out of this screaming child. Santa is wore out! Merry Christmas Everyone!
  11. Although I'm paying my rent a week early and before christmas, I end up with 2 checks not going towards rent in January (I get paid on Feb 1st so that's when I'll pay). But then Robb and Elissa is getting money out of that for the deposit for this europe trip. Have to make sure I make this trip! And what's left goes to the new computer fund. Terry
  12. You can buy the spray... My rant (not major): A mosquito got me through my dress shirt and my arm is itching like crazy. Terry
  13. New Year's Weekend party tickets (1 regular admission for a Sat party, 1 VIP for New years)... $208. Since all my friends I'm going with are paired up with dates and I'm going solo, I figured I can sit my butt down in VIP, have a energy drink and relax when I'm tired of dancing until dawn. Also gives me an excuse to wonder off when they start kissing at the strike of 12. I'm still mad that they waited until the last minute to make plans... I could have been in LA for christmas although the DJ for New Years is actually better... but I have a better party experience in LA. Oh well there's always next year. Terry
  14. Well if I was wealthy then I would devote my time to volunteer for local charities. I would like to also be a writer if I can get this book published. I have a few more ideas for books I would like to write. Right now the computer field is boring me. Terry
  15. Sounds like the parents on the trip wasn't really watching and some kids on the team doesn't know what curfew is. It surprises me how many times when I'm out being bad , I see so many underaged kids are roaming the streets late at night. There's nothing to do then but get into trouble that late at night. But that's all a parental issue... you know their parents isn't watching them at home; what makes you think guardians will have any better luck? But it sounds like Disney was sending a strong message about tolerating violence on their property: watch your kids and make them behave or get out now. And I don't mind that at all, 'cause unless some people are shown consequences, they don't know how to act when they go out in public. I know some kids won't be on the team next year. Terry
  16. There were so many people from the Midwest Trip recovering and hung over from staying up all night at Cedar Point... lol glad I got my winks in to enjoy the park before any major changes take place... It was a nice place but I'm not sure I would go out of my way to visit again. Terry
  17. I tried to register and I'm lazy... Terry
  18. ^Is she getting fired or just moved to a different department? I would think working would trump loud music; most places require you to wear earphones as not to disturb others. Personally her radio would somehow get "broken" after she left for the day. Or somehow the electric cord got cut. Anyway, I haven't had my car since yesterday morning. I took it in for repairs and they took their time to get parts. When they finally got them, they didn't fit and it was too late for me to call a rental place to get a car. So I was stranded at work and I live 22 miles from there. I was hot! I had to get a ride back to miami from my roommate. Anyway, they're gonna pay for a taxi for me to get back up to fort lauderdale to get my car and they're taking some of the labor off my car because i had to cancel plans for that night and i had to hear my roommate grumble about getting me... of course i read him for that since if he needed help i would do it without hesitation... that's what friends are for right? Terry
  19. Just a few non technical observations for theming: 1. Most structures in the park should have carribean themes. This is the state closest to Latin America and the Carribean so you'll be pulling themes from that. 2. Land is at a premium down here, so you should be incorporating a lot more water and retaining pools in the area. Besides when the hurricanes come that water needs to go somewhere! If the park were somewhat realistic, the park will be close to the everglades and not the coast where people are building nothing but condos. There's no room for a park there anyway, unless you buy out Boomer's in Ft Lauderdale (which was the site for the south florida Six Flags) You'll have more room to build out there.... so you'll have massive folliage surrounding the park, and canals and retaining pools to handle flooding issues. 3. Since Miami is below sea level, there aren't any types of hills... just converted swamp land and foliage. The largest "hills" down here are landfills. 4. With #2, you're probably going to be using a lot more compact rides and things that can fit in a small area. Hypercoasters will probably be out since a small hurricane will knock it down. (you could probably use coasters with reinforced stuctures. The Dania Beach Hurricane was made to withstand most high winds... that's how it made it through the hurricanes that swept through the area these past years.) 5. This park is based on Miami? Up those food prices! You're giving it away! It should be about $5 for a hamburger at least. People should be paying between $10-15 for a simple meal. 6. Miami is also based on looks, not substance. So your park should reflect that. Use this as an example: http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/vizcaya/photo-vizcaya_1.asp That should make the theming a bit more accurate. Terry
  20. Robb: When do you exercise? I hear doing it in the morning will burn more calories. Also I think your metabolism is slowing down and getting used to the little bit of food you've been giving it. You may have to throw an extra granola bar or snack in to get your metabolism going again... and possibly adding another quick workout session in too. But don't give up hope, just keep working towards losing the weight and you'll get there! Eat little more, get your heartrate up and your metabolism will kick back in and start burning the fat. Terry
  21. One of the reasons I don't look at a scale, it's not going to give an accurate progress report. You just have to continue working out, and change up a few things in that workout to shock your body into losing more weight otherwise your body will get used to the exercise and you will plateau. So I just watch what I eat, take my vitamins and do my exercises. I really didn't start seeing too much progress until the day the hot guy in the gym winked at me two weeks ago.... that's when you know you've done something... nothing like people staring at you when you're in the gym taking notice of what you're doing.. Terry
  22. How I ended my thanksgiving break: This is about how close I got to Cyndi Lauper. I'm posing with the pic she signed a few minutes later that was auctioned off with my friend Demaris at the White Party benefit in Miami. Earlier in the night as I just escorted Darren Hayes of Savage Garden to his limo after sound check. I was running all over the Viscaya museum all night!
  23. I'm currently working from home, laying in bed and sipping fruit punch. If I'm waiting around for others to give me what I need to finish, at least I can be comfortable! Terry
  24. Just got back from the gym. They're gutting the whole building to make way for condos (it used to be a mall) and I saw one of the construction workers... Sitting right next to a bottle of beer; at 8:10am. Do I feel secure about going in the building now? A drunken mess. Terry
