  1. I have a new favorite drop ride as of Saturday, when I took my first fall on SFGADV's new Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom. It's the tallest and fastest in the world, and the view of the park from the top is staggering. I'm looking forward to taking a night ride sometime in the future.
  2. Thanks for the photos Larry! I will be at sfne in two weeks and will take photos of progress.
  3. ^^I agree with that completely. The concept is cool when it's done right. Nightmares Fear Factory (niagara falls,on)and Barrets Haunted Mansion's "darkness unleashed" (mass) are my two favorite mazes and they are both great examples of mazes with no theming, utter darkness, and unbelievably effing frightening even if you aren't a nyctophobiac. I heard last year GADV's total darkness had flashlights that went out at certain points , maybe they will bring back that concept. I have to say the scare actors at this event were great! Some above and beyond... Slender man, the neon chainsaw brothers, voodoo stilt walker , and the asylum "spiderlike wall crawling girl" were all extremely into their characters and seemed to love what they were doing. The escaped inmate in orange jumpsuit was twitching and jerking his face to look like a maniac, wouldn't let up! The Voodoo King at the end of voodoo island just had this stare... Jess and I were exiting the trail and he just stared at us the whole time. Even 400 feet down the trail I turned around to see him... Still staring. No walking off, no breaking character. Well done fright fest scare actors! You could be better!
  4. It's hit or miss with me for Bizarro(sfne) and El toro size wise. Test seats say I can ride at both rides, but sometimes in the station I get walk of shamed if the ops aren't willing to give me an extra push. Rather than be embarrassed I just don't ride it anymore . It's frustrating (I can ride any B&M )but as a former ride op for Disney I understand and don't complain to the park because that's the last thing they want to hear on a busy Saturday. I've gained some weight, it's my responsibility to lose it if I want to ride some of these Intamins again. I have been taking weight off recently so by spring maybe I can go on my favorite coaster at my home park (sfne bizarro) every time and not just after being squished in if a kind op is willing to push. As for missing El toro , I have wicked cyclone to look forward to this spring an hour from home!
  5. Just got back from Great Adventure for my first time in several years, as with any trip to Six Flags it had its ups and downs. At 1pm the park was insanely crowded so Jess and I picked up a regular q bot. We did every coaster besides El Toro, which is ok as I have had my fill over the years. Green Lantern and Dark Knight were new to me. I was pleasantly surprised by Dark Knight, more theming than I expected. GL was painful on the legs but I enjoyed its layout. My favorite coaster in the park has been Nitro, and it did not dissapoint years later, Still one of the better speed coasters in my opinion. BTR still rides nicely, All of Bizarro's special effects work. I was impressed she still runs fairly smooth. Dispatcher at bizarro recognized our banshee shirts, maybe you post in this thread here? I did Kingda Ka once, encountered the rudest ride op I have ever seen on the industry Couldn't help but be nasty over the p.a. To guests, it was a little surprising and definitely dissapointing. I do understand how obnoxious guests can be at the park but damn, she was a bad employee. Zumanjaro was awesome, we waited about an hour. Zumanjaro is definitely my new favorite drop ride, the sounds it makes are really cool I might add. (The alarm horns for when it falls , clearly for safety reasons)We tried to use single rider to make the line go faster but everybody does it and the line goes slower if you wait in single rider. Next time I will just wait on the regular queue. Some people attempted to line cut , but I never let them by. Surprised at how few times I WASNT line jumped today , it was terrible years ago. We splurged the 30 bucks for admission to all 6 night mazes and included front of the line pass. I will share my opinion of the mazes from best to worst, minimal spoilers.... 1: Wasteland, best props and setting 2: The Manor, short but best scares 3: Voodoo Island, awesome costumes and fire! 4:The Asylum, actors were amazing, wasn't expecting the poop room 5: Crop Circles, only good part is slender man at the end 6: Total Darkness, they should have called it kind of darkness... I understand it was a sensory maze... The only props were two empty coke bottles and a churro wrapper inside. The glow stick is too big and bright so you can totally see where you are going an the actors little scare nests. We went through with some media gals covering haunts , try said it was much better last year .
  6. Thanks for the help guys. FlashPass it is. Im getting there right at park opening I should be able to snag a regular one. I have yet to ride Zumanjaro, Green Lantern or the indoor mouse so I guess my only chance is to get one. I just found out a wristband for the mazes is 15.00 with a season pass, 18.00 without. Has anyone done "Total Darkness"? yet?
  7. I'm going to GADV tomorrow from 11 to midnight. Locals/frequent visitors: What kind of crowds might I expect? How are the mazes and are they extra charge ? I see that there is a "pitch black" haunted house. I love these ! Is this one any good? Also wondering if any of the major attractions are in refurbishment or closed ?
  8. There will be no King James coaster in 2015 but rather CP is partnering with IPromise to help keep kids in school. Classy move CP! Also there will be a charity auction to be the first to ride ********. So far they have not yet announced ********.
  9. I was referring to Catapult. While it was a little tight on my shoulders it was a very bizarre ride. Does Thorpe still have theirs ? I really miss the Huss Flyaway Nightwing, I don't think Huss makes them anymore and it was frequently closed. Great sensation of flight on this one... With a major new coaster under construction I anticipate a flat ride or justice league dark ride for '16, although Id rather see SRoS return to glory... I can still keep my fingers crossed for the S&S free spin, as I imagine if BTR is successful these will pop up nationwide.
  10. ^^ There are still some really good flat rides at SFNE. Well... Three in my opinion. New England Sky Screamer Tomahawk Scream! I do really miss their once awesome collection of great flat rides though... Rest in pieces Time Warp, Nightwing, Twister, and the evil, evil S&S flat ride. (We dare not speak it's name...) Also I feel Dark Knight is quite under rated.. More intense to me than much of the B&M coasters I have been on. I love it's lil zero g roll... One ride I feel is often ignored that I can never pass up a spin on is Pandemonium.I love those Gerstlauer spinners and SFNE's trench dips were a nice touch.
  11. I loved the pre ride audio at X2, a sample of The celebration of the lizard king by the doors. If anyone has this sample of audio id love to hear it again... "Is everybody in? is everybody in? The ceremony is about to begin." I scoured YouTube with no luck.
  12. I'm seeing hype on my Facebook from non enthusiast people here in RI. Mostly with the quote : would you ride this? A lot of attention on the spinning seats. I expect these to pop up everywhere in 2016. I love to see this American coaster revolution. With the loss of Arrow and strong new RMC and S&S products the US is coming back to the market!
  13. Coming from both a dubstep and gerstlauer fan, this was music to my eyes and ears. Bravo man, just bravo. Best NL creation I have ever seen! I hope to see more of these themed rides from you , you are immensely full of talent!
  14. The main difference between Goliath And WC's stalls besides Goliath's obvious size difference, is that Cyclone's roll will go another 20 degrees so you are actually further around than in a "normal" zero g stall. I think this element, the outward airtime hill, and the alternating banked airtime hills will be what makes this coaster wicked . The airtime and smoothness claims are bold but I believe it. RMC... The savior has finally come !
  15. If you are implying the Mantis trains would be converted to floorless trains, that brings up a good argument. Would they be rebuilt or just replaced? I personally feel brand new rolling stock would be provided for such a conversion. For those who actually believe CP would relocate Mantis... come on now... my heads hurts just thinking about how anyone could believe that. For those who have an honest belief it would ever go to Kentucky, no. No, no, no. Someone made a joke about it going to Kentucky since they sold Chang to Great Adventure. I hope no one was seriously believing that?
  16. People really think it's leaving? B&Ms are expensive (and great IMO) and even very expensive to move. I can't imagine them taking it down. I don't think they would test the new scheme for speculation alone. The reaper reaches for the train, the clues point more to a train conversion than a removal in my opinion. I imagine this is Rougarou in the making. I also wouldn't expect a dark ride until 2016. The conversion will be massively expensive and sufficient enough if they can breathe new life into that awesome layout. I also wouldn't expect this show stopper coaster to be renamed king James. I'm thinking Wicked Twister for that one. Put a couple of hoops on the spikes for all I care.
  17. I like what I see so far, but I do hope and feel like a lot of these things will be polished a little more. Here's my thoughts... Non working monorail... Why? Maybe this will change it's still early. Big shops/restaurant look good. The Americana theme will make for nice "Main Street USA " themes. I love the coaster slicing through the park on a large angle. I hope the coasters have good supports, custom scenery will be tough, if it's even available for this game. I think it will be. I feel it adds years to the play life of the game if custom scenery is available. No matter what, I'm getting this game , waited so long and none of this should be taken as complaining. Im hoping for realistic coaster tracks and trains. I would like to be able to recreate the new B&M and Mack creations. Moreso than tons of polygons, I think what would make this game great is a huge ride catalog. It would be nice to pick a theme in a customizable tab vs having several of the same rides with different themes. I have a feeling the next screenshots will show a lot more, can't wait to see what the coasters and people look like ! Welcome back RCT!
  18. Mater, if you base your expectations of a ride on the accents you hear while waiting in line, I'm not even sure what to say... Having lived both in New England and Anaheim I have lost my accent after getting sick of the daily dose of judgement on having one in the first place. If it annoys you so much, you should just never leave California as there are accents all over the country. As for these two rides, it's like comparing apples and oranges. TC will be much longer and unique in the extra lap feature, but I feel Wicked Cyclone will be the more intense ride. They will both be massive improvements, both coasts should be very satisfied. "Have a wicked pissah day Cali."
  19. Halon, that is a real aerial image from am unknown source. Might be Flyin Phil but I can't be sure.
  20. The Thunderbird announcement made me remember how great it was to see B&M launch a brand new standard looping coaster with TWO vertical loops. Having this and Kumba in one state just isn't fair! Two very awesome rides I wish were closer... I agree that Hulk being chosen for design by the dynamic Swiss duo, was likely a package deal for their very best products pushed to their innovative limits. I was just as excited to see a dueling pair of inverted coasters. Two nice milestones for B&M a stones throw from one another. 1998 was a great time to be an enthusiast! As a B&M fan this was torture to wait for as Hulk was the first thing to pop up and really grab your attention!
  21. Whatever the name I'm willing to bet it will be a wicked pissah ride , guy. The west coast purged my accent but I still get a kick out of hearing others use it. Robb and Elissa hooked me up with fast passed at sfmm, I think he's the only one here to hear it from me as I was new to Cali! I just thing wicked cyclone is a little too close to a certain cedar fair impulse coaster.
  22. "Steel Storm Is Coming" leaves behind DKWEIU "We Kid U" ? Just a couple weeks ago I was saying I believe the name would be storm related but no longer Cyclone, which I feel, feels too retro for such a transition. With "New Cyclone" or "Iron Cyclone" being a little reminiscent of last year's RMC projects, I was hoping for a "Storm" name vs. Cyclone, considering we get Hurricanes and severe storms here in New England, Cyclones are the mirrored version of Hurricanes in the opposite hemisphere but don't quote my meteorology...
  23. So far I have these words or combos Steel Storm, doom, new, iron, RMC steel, twister. I still have d c m o n w g i i i to fit into the code if it were steel storm. Not using the generator just a pencil but I suspect if it's not the name of the coaster it could be a hint at what it is... There's a chance if we decode it , it would not be the name but the machine type itself which we already know. You cannot spell the words New England, apocalypse, Cyclone, or Warning (Obviously) These 3 i's are killing me but I love puzzles, riddles and codes! Beats the hell out of SFFTs stupid game There's no a in the scramble, not sure where you two are seeing it... Lots of smart people on here, use your noodles!
  24. Amazing work man! I especially love your realistic looking B&Ms I can certainly appreciate that! The night shot of of Intamin 1st gen gave me chills. Memories of rocky points free fall at sunset... Nice work!
  25. Thanks for the compliment Johnny! This project is still very much alive. Abenaki and EverScream are getting finished up now, support work is taking a while, don't want to show the area until the two coasters are done. I would like to put up an Intamin coaster soon.
