  1. Totally agree! Remember what Lisebergs original plans for Helix were? Good thing Helix happened and Green Fire didn't. But considering Wildfire uses basically all the length+terrain it can, it would be a shame if anything at all was compromised. It's pitch perfect right now in my opinion. Disagree with all my soul , I think the first concept for Helix looked like a good first spot contender for the Nr.1 steel in the world. Not that Helix as it is now isnt very good but the first concept was insane, tallest in Europe etc.
  2. I was there on a weekday in the beginning of June and the longest line I stood in was KindaKa at about 45m, El toro was 5-30m throughout the day! So no need for flashpass imo.
  3. Weird that it has had vibrations, I rode Helix 5 times in the beginning of June, it was silky smooth! My guess is that it has something to do with the weather? TPR visited when it was rather cold. (Also Helix was down, not allowing it to warm up).
  4. At Liseberg last summer my friend thought their S&S Space Shot (free fall) was 100 years old, the reason being it had a 100-year anniversary flag on it
  5. Thank you! We might definitely check out Steinwasen Park, good tip Also one question I forgot is, what type of crowds can we expect for these parks? Right now were looking at Holiday Park on Saturday 11th of April and Europa Park Monday 13th. Nothing is set in stone though.
  6. Hello TPR! Me and a few friends are planning a trip to Germany this April to visit Europa Park and Holiday Park Anyone know of any fun things to do around these places? Alpine Coasters would be awesome, example: ! Also is there any discounts available for the parks? Right now this is the trip plan: Cph -> Frankfurt visit Holiday park and then travel down to Europa Park. Taking flight home from Basel -> Cph. Any help is much appreciated, thanks for reading!
  7. Hello England! Im planning on doing a Thorpe park visit this week while visiting from Sweden. I was wondering how the crowds are going to be? Will a fastpass be needed? Im planning on going there on thursday the 30th.
  8. Is there any other recorded case where the lapbar actually failed on a major coaster? Like in this instance. All other accidents I have seen its always ride-op fail or passenger doing something incorrectly/overweight(guess its still ride ops fault then).
  9. I went to Six Flags Great Adventure in early june on a weekday and didnt have any need for a fastpass. Just seemed very expensive to buy one at every park! Mb buy one for just the very special ones Cedar Point etc.
  10. I read that earlier and if what Gerstlauer saying is true about the seatbelt anchors being pre-installed with the ride and SF chose to not install the actual belts and buckles that makes SF look pretty bad for not installing them in the first place and then right after the accident when the ride was shut down they go ahead and install them. They must have edited the article, because now there is no mention of pre-installed seatbelt anchors... >_> I read the article wrong and misunderstood, apparently the seat-belt anchors were built into the train cars not pre-installed, sorry about that. Wait, so there was an actual mechanical malfunction that just opened the lap bar? I just assumed this was some stupid employee/rider mistake like most of these incidents. Thats kinda scary then
  11. They say that its a "special" version of Star Shape, anyone know what they mean by that? This looks awsome btw
  12. Yes its still very smooth I would say, cant belive its 11 years old . I still dont see how its better then El Toro though, for me nothing beats that first drop. Why is balder better? Helix is great btw, but looking at the first concepts makes me die alittle inside
  13. http://bilder.gronalund.com/ng/autologin.jspx# the one new pic there looks nice and I like the new timberliner trains (or whatever they are called). Also loads of airtime on that hill
  14. Well I was wrong , nice to its gravity group anyway.
  15. Oh god I hope no S&S, those things look terrible . But how did you get invited? I guess your a journalist or something? Anyway have fun and be sure to brief us tomorrow with lots of pics!
  16. Alright betting time! Tomorrow is the big day and I just thought we could share what we think its going to be, I personally cant really imagine where they would put this new "coaster" maybe they will place some part of it in between the two sections (http://www.gronalund.com/Infor-besoket/Tivolikarta/) of the park but still that seems highly unlikely. My bet is that its some new type of coaster like the Insane ZacSpin was (ok there were two built before Insane) because where would a traditional coaster fit? Also they might just build it on top of existing structures and attractions. Anyway really excited for tomorrow!
  17. ^^ Care to link? I have no idea what I should search for on utube
  18. ^^ Oh god you just made my day! . The park is quite packed with attractions as it is so the only thing I can think of is some high-flying-inverted-family-thingy, but then again they already have that....
  19. Great post, I was hoping for a some airtime filled Intamin but oh well. Anyways where did you find that layout picture? Is it available in high res?
  20. Alright thanks alot for the help , but would you recommend buying flashpass? How long do the lines get on the popular rides?
  21. Hi, im going to New york next week (6-16 June) from Sweden and I was wondering if any attractions are closed and what day you would recommend going. Also are the single rider lines much faster? Thank you!
  22. Hai guys, im going over to New York from Sweden in a month and will be staying there for 10 days (6-16 June), I was wondering if you could suggest some awesome place to visit. Im thinking its such a big city and is there anything like Alien War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_War) or something there? I will of course be visiting a theme park and I think I have it nailed down to SF:Great Adventure, any tips on days when its not so crowded? Anything else to think about? Also there seem to be not that much discussion about the mentioned park, is it a nice place or just very ghetto?
  23. Very cool to see a reply from you. I had no idea that park owners even posted here, im pretty sure your one of the first to do so. I personally think it would be great if you added something like Balder or some Intamin mega coaster (for example; http://rcdb.com/1565.htm, rcdb.com/4038.htm), something really airtime filled. What I am missing from Gröna lund is something like that. You already got insane so I dont know if a B&M Inverted is the best way to go. It feels like it kinda overlaps the Insane audience if that makes sense. But with the limited space its certainly going to be a challenge. / End random thoughts
