This would be a real shame to lose to financial folly. I visited there a few times when I lived in Budapest, but to be honest it was never really the first choice of recreational activity to do in the city. I think even the local ice-skating ring close to the park received much more attendance than Vidampark. The Looping Star there is the ride I remember best; ah, good times.

I'm sooo bummed that I couldn't join you guys on this trip, even for the Finland-part of the trip, not with the income I get as a student... meh. I guess I'll just have to wait a few more years. Although, I did visit Linnanmäki today. I hope you all have a great time in Finland!

Oh yeah, not only does it make the Kerchunk noise, it also has the deadstop brakes of doom at the end... Somewhat akin to the looping star at Vidam Park, Budapest; those brakes are like being in a car crash.

Linnanmäki officials in Finland have assured the media that they do not believe that a similar accident could happen in their park, and that maintenance procedures are being scrutinized. Hopefully they are right. I hope for a quick recovery of the victims, and also that similar rides are not shut down because of this accident.

I must say, a great candidate for the darwin awards...

Personally, (judging from photos and video), that ride reminds me of something I made 5 years ago using RCT1... XD

A new Maurer Söhne spinning for Linnanmäki?!? Where the heck are they going to fit that anyway? IMHO the only place they can fit that is inside the water tower, that is, if they first scrap the idea of building a hotel inside it, then they remove Space Express, one of the more reknown rides amongst younger visitors, great theming and whatnot. Brilliant idea though.

HOLY COW!!! Thats freakin' awesome! I love Huss rides, and as far as riding top spins, there the best, I mean especially the feeling of those flips. Unfortunately the one in Linnanmäki only does around 6 per ride, thats why I normally ride 15 times or so while in the park, with the lines as short as they were on sunday, I mean pretty much no line at all... That top spin would be heaven for me, and I'm not kidding either! I gotta get myself to oktoberfest someday. =D P.S. The top spin is probably the 2nd best ride in the park, after Vuoristorata, the crazy scenic railway with ejector airtime and a brakeman.

Knightmare is also the name of a kick@$$ computer game made in 1985 for the Spektravideo MSX. That game is really cool, and I still do play it.

On the full length vid when the dad is giving the interview I also think that the way he suddenly turns towards his kid asking "how hard did he hit you Jerry?", is very strange. He really does look like he is trying to imply to his son that "just do what i told you to do" sort of face... I also agree with rollermonkey on the way tigger tried to arm-lock the kid and twist away but just ended up slapping him. I think that if this sort of thing happened in Finland the people invoved would all just apologise to each other and be on their way, atleast judging by the way that this was a really light moment of accidental physical contact, nobody sueing anyone else... Just saw the video and i'd say it looks like a blatant attemt to sue for $$$$. Tigger grabs the hand and turns around, accidentally brushing the kid with the paw in like a "Hey get your hand off me" gesture. I mean what a wuss, the paw is probably really soft and a slow swipe such as that couldn't possibly hurt in the least. And WHAT in the name of green mooses from mars is all that shite about neck pains and painkillers, obviously some sort of set up seeing as the kid was laughing his head off as he got brushed... And notice that the media and the family are using the word punched, punch is a pretty powerful word as far as I know and is bound to get waaay more attention than "Tigger brushed at kids head" or something like that. Nooooo! The most horrible flying coaster experience ever! I felt like i was having my spine re-adjusted on it, just for a lousy credit... Yes, us finns get sent to the trombi when were bad, lol. P.s. yes the dome is actually some sort of retro arcade gaming hall, all of the parks in finland have atleast one of them, and the vekoma is really quite smooth, now i feel special.

Yeah, I've had this happen to me a few times, mostly i let them pass if they're polite and have a really good reason, but if they're just trying to push through the line i'll just tell them to wait in line like everyone else! The most annoying time was when I was in Gardaland in Italy during my vacation with the family. I was waiting in a 30min line for the SLC, (which IMO was a nice, smooth ride, for once) and there were like 15 teenagers in front of me, most of them smoking (which in itself was extremely annoying) and suddenly a group of about 20 of their friends pushed past me. When i attempted to tell them to move behind me so they could wait like everyone else, i figured out only 1 person actually spoke any english at all, he quite frankly told me to piss off!! Being set back in line a full trainful, especially with the poor loading going on that day, was really aggravating and almost ruined my day... As far as what the operators did to stop the line jumpers, they socialized with them.

That was the second funniest idiot test ever! I got to brilliant after like 10 times lol... i always knew i was smart on the inside, durrr
