  1. All right after calming down a bit I thought about this more rationally. This is a good move for Universal, but just like anything it'll have to be executed well. What I consider "executed well" on this project is NOT destroying what they already have(Lost Continent). I agree with Maverick that the plot of land below would be the ideal spot, but I added yellow lines to show what I think would be the best place to connect it to the rest of the park. I still don't agree with this...but I'm gonna have to get over it. ...Crosses fingers that they don’t tear down Poseidon’s Fury...
  2. I completely agree with you... Sure, the LOst Continent wasn't the greatest island..But, I'd rather see that than Harry Potter! This is mainly a money and crowds thing. Having a Harry Potter themed island will bring in loads of crowds... Who knows...If they build a new ride with some new technology, I might change my mind.. But right now I'm doubting Universals decision I'm really mad about this right now too. I really think they should reconsider tearing out part of LC for a homo with a wand(yes I hate Harry Potter). The only way I could really see them doing this without completely destroying Lost Continent is making the fountain/Sinbad the Entrance to the new island.
  3. ^ He is just trying to help. Don't post your coasters thinking everyone will give possitive feedback. Here's my two cents. Try starting out with coasters on a smaller scale. This will obviously give you less track to deal with...hopefully resulting in a smoother ride because you will spend more time on each section of track. Hope that helps a little.
  4. I'm definitely going then! I might be able to make it. August 15 is my birthday so I'll probably be in Orlando anyways
  5. All right first "Official" Update. 1988- Parc De Jardins D'Aventure Bonjour! Vieux Train De Mine is still the most popular attraction at the park. Less and less people are riding Savage Souris. So now they only open it for a few hours a day. I thought it was ugly before, but with no body riding it it's even worse. The park does have some good news though! They are getting a Large Family Coaster from Soquet. It is supposed to have a custom layout, and be somewhat of a terrain coaster. No specs have been released but it will supposedly be the tallest coaster in the park. There are a few general park pictures and some on-ride shots! Salut! Looks like they are extending the pathways for the new coaster. (Next Update will be the coaster's construction. Hopefully it'll be a little more exciting than this update.) Going into the tunnel. Here' one of Vieux Train De Mine. A crappy on-ride shot. Almost there... Waiting in line for Savage Souris. I have a feeling it won't be around for much longer. The breaks and part of Vieux Train De Mine's station. The larger garden. Joyeux Allez En Rond has deffinately seen better days. One of the two gardens at the park. This is the smaller of the two. 6. A liquidation sale?!?! That means they're trying to sell everything before they close?
  7. Poor animals Marineland looks like an odd park. Is everything really spread out? From the pictures that's how it looked.
  8. Bonjour! Parc De Jardins D’Aventure A park located in Nice, France. It is estimated that it opened sometime in 1960. The park opened with a wooden Wild Mouse Coaster, Savage Souris, and a Merry-Go-Round. Not much happened between the parks opening and 1972. Early 1974 the park was bought out by another company and started planning for the years to come. The first ride the new owners opened up was the Ferris Wheel , Roue De Rotation in 1975. In the next 10 years the owners slowly added the gardens so the parks name would make more sense. Tiny refurbs and modifications happened over the years. Times have been slow for the park, it’s a miracle it has lasted this long. Now 1988, The park just opened another coaster. Vieux Train De Mine, a Soquet mine train coaster, is now the most popular attraction at the park. It’s rumored the next attraction will be from Vekoma or Soquet. Join us back here for more updates. Salut! Rides Savage Souris-Wooden Wild Mouse (very old) Joyeux Allez En Rond- Carousel(very old) Roue De Rotation-Ferris Wheel Vieux Train De Mine- Mine Train Coaster Vieux Train De Mine. Another Update Soon. Brand New Soquet Mine Train Coaster. The Park's oldest coaster. It's really just an eyesore. Parc De Jardins D'Aventure Parc De Jardins D'Aventure
  9. I hope all these great rides will be replaced with something even better! To be honest I'm not sad at all to see Turbulence go. R.I.P. JRancher.
  10. Looks interesting. Maybe I'll pick up a copy. Is it a pretty easy read? It's summer and I don't want to strain my brain
  11. I'm planning on a CP/ Geauga Lake trip in early to mid July. We are planning on going two days at CP and probably getting a Twilight Ticket (from 5 till closing) at Geauga Lake.
  12. I'm pretty sure they are mirrors that make that "dancing light" effect.
  13. Hey, Today my mom and I went to Universal Orlando to renew our annual passes and ride a few rides. To make a long story short we got on three rides, Terminator, Mummy, and Twister. Crowds were HUGE! It was the most crowded I've seen both parks, other than peak nights at HHN. I couldn't stop to take too many pictures because swarms of people would walk in front of the camera. I mostly included updates/construction going on in the parks. Picture Time! Morale of this post: Deffinately invest in the Express Passes if your not a guest at a resort, If of course it is a crowded day like this. Summer crowds are here! Random picture of area by DD, just to show the crowds. Thanks for reading!Sorry it wasn't longer. They are also painting the area around Caro-Suess-El. This guy is finally getting a fresh coat of paint. Facing the theatre. Facing CityWalk. When I was taking pictures of the theatre I heard people saying "Oh, It's like their Cirque De Soliel!" Looks even better close up. The Theatre looks great! Blue Men! These are the first performers I've seen here in a while. Anyone know what this is? Random Refurb. There doesn't really seem to be any noticeble changes to the outside of the building. Now I kinda wish the "stardust" had something to do with The Hollywood Dream Ride.(only because I don't like The Simpsons) The car is gone, the train is still there, and the store is still open. YAY! Dora and Jimmy! Twister was a half hour wait. The wind effect wasn't working today. On to the parks! Mummy was 60 minute wait, so we did Single Riders. Then right before we got on it broke down. They turned all the lights on, I would've loved to be riding when that happend. Mmm, The Kitchen is a pretty good resturant. YAY! Hard Rock is a really cool hotel. I haven't stayed there since the renovation though. Allright after waiting in line for an hour to renew our passes, we walked over to Hard Rock for some lunch. Hart and Huntington Sign.
  14. ^Thanks! Is the rough spot the "S Turn" type thing under the lift?
  15. I'm really sorry to hear that. I'll pray for your family.
  16. Here's a link to my entry... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35846
  17. Hey, This is my Gravity Group Contest entry. Please let me know what you think! Gryfalcon Gryfalcon.zip Gryfalcon
  18. Great job for your first coaster! When you practice a little more, you could probaly fix some of those rough spots and it would turn out pretty good.
  19. What a cool event! Even though I absolutely despise High School Musical, it looked like a lot of fun.
  20. Cool Idea, Awesome TR! I forgot that World Showcase was that big...I need to get over to EPCOT soon.
  21. I'm currently trying to make a web-site that I will eventually publish. I'm using Yahoo Site builder. Does anyone have any experience with this program? Or can anyone suggest a better program to use for a beginner at Site-Building? It'd be a great help!
  22. When it's convenient giving up your tickets on an overloaded flight is a pretty good deal! Why would there be a bed in the "conference" room? Carrabbas > Macaroni Grill
  23. Is anyone planning on doing a tour this year? I'm really looking into it. What tour did TPR do last year? It wasn't the RIP tour was it?
