  1. Let's hope the new attraction isn't Cornhole.
  2. If they are so serious about upping the coaster count, then why are they taking out a popular family coaster (Flying Super Saturator) to put it in? They have to have room for it somewhere else. Remove a shop or something, not a coaster.
  3. Busch all the way. As well themed as Disney with great, sometimes better than Disney attractions and food, friendly staff, and Shamu.
  4. I believe Space Mountain at Disneyland is a Vekoma, so I pick that,
  5. It looks like CGA's supposedly-2009 coaster. The turnaround looks like the one that'll go around the sky tower, and I remember seeing something like that on Screamscape from the IAAPA.
  6. Sounds like something Paul Pressler would do if he was running the parks. Gotta wonder if Nickelodeon approved it or not, because that is a huge waste of space in an already starved-for-land park. Thumbs down, MOA. Thumbs way down.
  7. ^there's really no comparison between them aside from the same ride system and a few scenes that are the same. ROTM was shoehorned into the ET building at USH, while USF's was put into the old King Kong building, a likely much larger building with more room for bigger scenes.
  8. If you guys wanted fun, you should have gone to the Foam Ball War place in the Blast Zone. Nothing more fun than beaning kids in the head with neon blue-colored balls while pretending it was an accident.
  9. Eh. Pyromaniax was lame compared to Red Moon Massacre and I still miss Hatchet High. THAT was an awesome house.
  10. I'm betting that Nickelodeon Universe at MOA was the straw that broke the camels back. I'm sure that CF wanted exclusive Theme Park rights to the characters, but then Nick strikes a deal with MOA and essentially sours the deal. I personally blame Nickelodeon, they really should have thought about the CF deals before they decided to do NickU. So by 2010 Nick will be out of all Universal and former Paramount Parks and have a grand total of one theme park. I suppose it's kind of stupid for CF too, though, Nick is way more relevant and will sell more tickets than Snoopy ever will.
  11. Home park is California's Great America, about an hour and a half away.
  12. the Aang statue and Avatar pagoda is from there too.
  13. Wow. I really want CGA's Nick Central to get overhauled now. The place has a sleek, almost futuristic quality to it.
  14. does everyone realize that this "Massive" theme park is being built with less money than DCA was built on? That sure is massive.
  15. there's a reason why their nickname is Cedar Fail.
  16. www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-disneyland2-2008may02,0,1715506.story I guess the balconies are one step closer to being removed.
  17. It's like DCA all over again, kids rides are limited and mostly are playground attractions. Well, at least they tried to theme the place, it comes off a little like a Paramount Park, well themed in some places, others not so much...
  18. Because the shows are canceled, they will be phased out. Don't be surprised if the reruns end by next year. Just because they are popular now doesn't mean they will remain popular. Essentially, it's more cost-effective if they use the Slime theme as opposed to Back at The Barnyard because Slime is a Nick staple and is absent in the entire park, while Barnyard is a show that'll last 4 seasons, max. It's not a big gigantic hit like Spongebob. With Slime, they won't have to retheme the ride 7 years in, which will cost a nice chunk of money. The park is awesome, yes, but it's not going to be awesome in 6 years when all of the properties will be outdated. Kids'll be asking their parents who Spongebob and Danny are and their parents will be confused, as they never watched Nick in the first place. Should they know, they'll wonder where the current characters are. Of all the shows in NickU, Rugrats and Spongebob should be the only ones that remain popular, as they have lasted the longest and been popular for most of their run. Back on topic however, they will probably retheme their current darkride before they build a new one.
  19. Back at The Barnyard is sadly going to be the new theme of the Log Chute. Green Slime Falls, one of the ideas I was looking forward to, was canned due to cost, and this idea is supposed to be less costly. I think that is a big mistake, considering Slime is never dated, yet the show they are theming it to could be canceled at any moment. When it is, it'll end up like The Wild Thornberrys River Adventure, where the show is obsolete and no one has a clue as to who the characters are. That's my problem with NickU, the shows featured could be canned at any moment, heck, Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron, Rugrats, and Blue's Clues are already canceled, yet they got rides. The park is basically like Tomorrowland, it dates itself. They're going to have to spend another million bucks to bring it up to date in ten years.
  20. What type of scenery are you using for the Nick Hotel? I've been building a Nickelodeon park in RCT3 and The buildings used in front of the hotel fit better than the ones i'm using. Also, could you post a link to the Nick images you used? I can't find the right pics to fit like that. Thanks!
  21. Park: California's Great America Additions: Remove all Hanna Barbara theming and replace with Nickelodeon theming Remove the current Nickelodeon Central area and retheme it back to a new Splat City with new slime mining theme and add 2 new rides: the Splat-O-Sphere, exactly like the MOA one, except the vehicle is launched upwards and once it hits the top, a plume of water is shot out of the top, and the Nickelodeon Flying Super Saturator, a new version of the current one in Carowinds with flyovers above the new Slime Zone. The Splat-O-Sphere would be located where the current Treetop Lookout is, while the Flying Super Saturator would be located where the current Nickelodeon Theater is. Relocate Dora's Dune Buggies to current space occupied by the Cement Mixer in Kidzville (now Nickelodeon Central) Annex Loggers Run into Nickelodeon Central and retheme it to Green Slime Falls with green dye in the water and new Slime Mining theming. Remove the Grizzly and use as firewood Replace Grizzly with a new Flying Coaster with a jungle theme Retheme Psycho Mouse and enclose to create the Spongebob Squarepants Crash Course Boating School, reroute entrance to Nick Central Remove Thunder Raceway and add new Bikini Bottom themed landscape and Meet and Greet area. Annex Survivor, Drop Zone, and new Flying Coaster into a new Jungle themed area Retheme Centrifuge to Danny Phantom's Ghost Zone and enclose Retheme Barney Oldfield Speedway to California Cruisers and add new landscaping around current ride track Turn half of Kidzville into Nick Jr. Village with Nick Jr. rides and turn other half into Nicktoons Central with general Nicktoon rides along with Danny Phantom's Ghost Zone, Crash Course Boating School, and Spongebob's Boatmobiles, now Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Collider Remove all Midway areas inside Drop Zone area and replace with FireFall (moved from current location) Rename Vortex as California Cyclone Add the New Wooden Rollercoaster around and behind IMAX theater with the name Santa Clara Stampede Remove Xtreme Skyflyer and surrounding area and replace with mini wooden rollercoaster named Pony Express as Stampede's cousin coaster Lower Parking to 8.00$ Lower Food Prices by a dollar or two Add more unique merchandise create unique background music loops for each area except Nick Central, which will be given multiple background loops, one for Splat City section, One for Nicktoons Central, and one for Nick Jr. Village
  22. ^i'm guessing it's because: A. The park's concept was created when Rugrats was showing on Nick, or B. as a tribute to Nick's longest running series. Which is why I would like if they had a wall with images of past shows and what year they premiered. It would be nice for a tribute to past shows.
  23. It's Awesome to see Nick jump out from the Nickelodeon Central/Nickelodeon Universe theming levels and actually feel immersive. No cheap coats of paint and new pavement here, they have murals, character sculptures, new structures, new coasters that are actually themed, and my favorite part, the column wraps. I hope Rugrats and Danny Phantom get wraps, they deserve them since they have rides.
  24. Looty, what exactly is going on with the Log Flume? I know it's not going to be done until after the park reopens, but what will be added to it? Will there be anything noticeable? Oh yeah, here's a quick suggestion for the name: Slime River Splash.
  25. Spongebob's Arms have been installed onto the statue along with new Rock Bottom details on the facade Spongebob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge progress as of 2/29/08
