^ That's one reason why I like Twisted Timbers over Steel Vengeance, because of the repeating relentless traditional airtime hills that TT has. A twisty RMC is still a GREAT ride that I would take over 99% of what's out there, don't get me wrong, but I would like to see that as well. -

I love how massive it looks compared to that small and once-quite footbridge. Can't wait for this thing. -

^ Same. Usually they open the gates so quickly and the next people are so excited to get on, I can barely get my seatbelt unbuckled before I have someone breathing down my neck to get in. Hopefully there will be plenty of reminders, and the ride ops will act as spotters to quickly let people know if they did. -

The enthusiast in me wants it to be for late-season construction, with the stadium demolition having been the first phase of something bigger, but realistically it's probably staffing. -

Looks like metal detectors in the station in conjunction with the pouches will be the permanent solution to last year's cell phone issues. -

I believe the vest restraints require a larger gauge of track to accommodate wider trains, so the entire track & supports would need to be replaced at that point. I rode Dominator in August of last year and found it to be perfectly fine. -

I would base that more off the fact that they have a brand new coaster across the park, rather than new wood. Mean Streak was having wood replaced regularly right up until the end. -

I think we're just spoiled as enthusiasts. This seems like a hit, and I've heard some describe it as "intense." It compliments their coasters nicely, and once Hurler gets the Twisted Timbers treatment (it's bound to happen eventually, right?), they'll have an even nicer collection on their hands. -
Oh no doubt. The last time I went a few years ago was in July with heavy crowds. But it was very manageable with FastPass, and we plan to fully utilize that again. I'm wondering if there will be a noticeable volume influx after opening throughout the rest of the parks, versus a few weeks before. ^But like you said, busy is busy.

So I'm planning on going during the week of May 13. I do want to experience Galaxy's Edge eventually, but I'm not someone that NEEDS to right as it opens. I'm fine with waiting a couple years. As someone who lives across the country and only gets there a couple times per decade, I don't want my entire Disney experience hampered by insane crowds. Is that solid logic, or am I crazy?

The dip in 09 is probably attributed more to the recession of the time. Those were some great years to be an enthusiast, being literally the only one walking down the midway on a cold early May day. -

The colors of Pittsburgh and every pro sports team in the city are black and gold/yellow. Considering 3 of the city's biggest rival teams are orange, there won't be any orange supports on this ride. -

I'll take sub-40 degree rides any day over having a splitting headache from being dehydrated in the 95 degree sun all day. Some of the best rides I've ever had at a park were this past April on Banshee and Beast after dark with temps in the 30s. -
Been there. Done that. Now what?

As everyone else has said, I think you should change your completionist outlook to this hobby and perhaps take a step back to reflect on the things you have enjoyed so far. Go about it wanting to have fun, instead of needing to "check all of the boxes." There's nothing wrong with returning to a place you've already visited to re-experience things you really enjoy or may have previously missed. -

Cedar Point used to be open daily immediately, but the past few years they've been doing the "trial run" weekend of sorts before they dive into daily operations. Looks like they're canning that idea for next year. -

I'm all for an earlier "trial run" weekend of sorts to work out the bugs, but if it doesn't matter because of understaffing anyway, I say push it back as far as they need for guests to have a better experience. -

Many people forget to zipper the pockets on their shorts. Entirely possible. You mock me, but I've been told numerous times by ride operators to secure my pockets. So yes, that is something they do. -

Yeah, but let's think further: Now you can have the phone with you - again - until you are directly at the train. I see no difference to the situation before. Who guarantees and checks that really all cell phones that were in line are going to the bags underneath the seats? You'd have to check everybody somehow, maybe with a phsycal check or with handy metal detectors. And that is what Robb supposed way, way ago what they could have done first hand to solve the problem. Get me: I'm totally against the policy to give away the phone for a two hour line. But given the fact that they want no cell phone put out on the lift hill, I really see no improvement if not every person is checked individually. What could have, but isn't, been done the wohle time. What I appreciate is, that it will be a bit more convenient for those who are not completely morons. The operators that pull down your laps bars are also doing a visual scan to check for phones on your person. It's not foolproof, but they were pretty damn good at catching people with phones in their pockets when I was at KD in August. I would also like a more efficient way like the wands they use in Japan, but considering today's phones are as big as tablets, it's fairly difficult to conceal one.
