  1. No DVR, but we'll be watching it when it airs!
  2. Hey guys, I'm new to the party but I was waiting for the event details to come out since I wanted to be sure that I could commit and it took them awhile for Dorney. This will be my first year participating but I'm really looking forward to supporting such a great organization as a member of Team TPR! Here is a link to my page!
  3. Great Adventure is ridiculously dark at night so I'm very happy to hear about the lights on Kingda Ka.
  4. I usually base my park visits off of the forecast so not really... I've ridden a few coasters in light rain (Talon, Nitro... probably a few others) but nothing to write home about.
  5. I got on Big Dipper in less than 5 minutes on the same day I waited 2 hours for X Flight. Big Dipper is one of the most forgettable coasters I've ever ridden.
  6. They could demolish Flashback and/or Mind Eraser and then they'd have a nice patch of undeveloped land...
  7. Based on the pictures, the new entrance reminds me a lot of Target Field in Minnesota. I'm glad someone else thought of a sports stadium.
  8. I second that, Knoebels is a much better park than SFA.
  9. I totally agree. This was my favorite coaster for years, but it's barely in my top 10 now.
  10. Finally Six Flags installed a mega lite! I thought this day would never come.
  11. So far Six Flags Magic Mountain Knotts Berry Farm Dorney Park Six Flags New England Six Flags Great Adventure Bowcraft (We're filthy, disgusting whores) Pacific Park (See above) We have a few things planned but we just kind of wing it. Cedar Point, Knoebels, Quassy and Kings Dominion are almost definites though.
  12. This ride looks outstanding, I can't wait to ride it this summer. I know I said this a few pages back but no thanks... sign me up for a Fastlane plus.
  13. We went to Dorney yesterday and had a great day. The coasters are really nothing special except for Talon but they do have a lot of good flat rides that more than make up for it. Just a few notes... 1) Every single ride was open yesterday including all 3 water rides. Everything was also running multiple trains except for Thunderhawk which really never does. As usual there were no lines and every coaster was a walk-on all day except for the Wild Mouse which had about a 10 minute wait. 2) I always thought Steel Force was one of the worst hypercoasters anywhere because it's an unbelievably boring coaster and while I'd still put it behind every other hyper I've ridden it's a different coaster in the front seat. It feels very fast, hangs over the first drop and even has a few moments of mild floater air. Once we started riding in the front, I enjoyed all of my rides on it. 3) Talon was running great, I forgot how much I enjoyed this coaster. Now that Laser is gone, this is easily the best ride in the park. 4) Stinger was open, but 8 seats were occupied by water dummies and they were always leaving 2 random rows empty. I have no idea why they would weigh down the train with water dummies but then purposely leave seats empty (not specific rows, just random rows that were empty because they were holding people at the turnstile). The ride was pretty rough, and I can't help but wonder what Dorney was thinking when they replaced Laser with this mess of a ride. 5) Chickie's and Pete's... where have you been all my life. I never go to table service restaurants in theme parks but nothing at Dorney had a line so we weren't racing around to ride everything and we were having kind of a relaxed day so we decided to check this place out. Don't miss this place when you go to Dorney. The fries were delicious as were the cheese steaks, and prices were right on par with any other full service sports bar outside of an amusement park.
  14. Thanks for asking, yes I am... I don't have as much time to work on the park as I'd like but there has been some steady progress. I've been working on a small themed area called "Rockport" which is themed to a classic 1950's boomtown. Comments greatly appreciated! An overview of the new area. The coaster in the back is Wildcat, a classic wood coaster that fits in with the classic American theme. The station itself will not be located in Rockport but it's classic dips and turns provide a backdrop for the area. Ed's Diner and J's Service Station are food service locations, while Whitman's Department Store is actually a restroom with a themed exterior.
  15. I would like this if the park still gave you the option to ride forward, but I really don't understand it. The ride is already great and doesn't need stupid gimmicks.
  16. While a Giga would be really cool, I'd love to see a custom designed inverted coaster. It would really help round out the coaster collection and I've never ridden a B&M inverted coaster that I didn't love.
  17. That's not true, they can remove *insert coaster that sucks here* and sell it to Darien Lake. Then put the coaster where Darien Lake's new coaster used to be.
  18. I completely agree with this. It's ridiculous. Luckily it's an awful coaster so I never ride it.
  19. It's Six Flags New England, what do you think? On Saturday one tower was running in combo mode and the other was running in space shot mode, of course we got the space shot. We asked (nicely) if we could wait for the other tower and the ride operator rudely told us that we couldn't. This has always been the case at Six Flags New England. You can't choose your seats on Scream, Thunderbolt, Batman the Dark Knight or Goliath. This park has the dumbest policies of any Six Flags Park I've been to. It makes sense on Thunderbolt because of the size of the station, but that's about it.
  20. I love i305 and think it's a top 10 coaster for sure, but I do think it's slightly overrated (that may be partially due to the fact that I had hyped it up so much). I don't really understand why it has over the shoulder restraints and due to the lack of anything near the track to enhance the sensations of height and speed it didn't seem as fast and amazing as the statistics show. It has some really good airtime but the over the shoulder restraints take a lot away from that. I absolutely love the coaster and the fast changes in direction but I enjoy coasters like El Toro, Phoenix and even Nitro (flame on) more because I love the sensation of airtime without any restraints above the waist. Also, while I'm not saying it's better... I think a coaster like Millennium Force feels much faster because of the fact that you're flying by objects that you give you a point of reference to how fast you're actually going.
  21. Don't even justify any "new ride ideas" in this thread with a response. It's not worth it...
  22. Is that an additional set of switchbacks on the top left part of the picture? Thank god for Fastlane plus!
  23. What is rust going for on the open market these days?
  24. While I do agree that Cedar Fair's reluctance to build a traditional coaster taller than Millennium Force is a little ridiculous, if Kings Island ends up with a giga (which is a big "if") and it's 308 feet as opposed to (let's just throw out a number...) 325 feet I doubt it will impact the ride experience at all. I'll be thrilled if Kings Island gets a giga regardless of the exact height.
