  1. So Cedar Point can give a months notice to ride a water ride before it closes, but Busch Gardens only gives 9 days for a classic coaster that I'm sure has been in the plans for months. Okay. I really need to ride Shockwave at SFOT, feels like it may be the last Schwartzkopf with intensity left (that hasn't been neutered by Six Flags).

  3. Shoes is a keyword. Sellers will put it in there to draw more views of their product and broaden the selection presented to the buyer, even if they arent shoes. Waterproof oversocks might be a decent option too.

  4. I mean I see people with hooded sweatshirts at parks when it's in the 90s but I see your point .. Honestly the summer heat doesn't really bother me that much anymore but I still can't stand those stretches when it won't go below 75 at night. Glad to have these 45 degree mornings back and humidity gone (for a few days anyway). I love fall.

  6. I know at least the lazy river at HW had cubbies. It's been a while since I've been on slides, but I seem to recall just placing them at the entrance next to a ton of other shoes. I'd just wear slides. Maybe just bring a pair of water shoes or something and check them in the locker if you see people using that alternative.

  7. for National Roller Coaster Day this past weekend, my Friend Matt Hughey (VP of Park Operations at Circuit of the Americas), invited my other friends, the Quirky Coaster Couple (Nick and Kelly) to come out and take a tour of the COTA-land site. . . where they have quietly been doing a TON of work. the Quirkies were able to turn it into an event of sorts, inviting 20 or so others to come along, ride the Schwarzkopf Texas Wildcat (that's been open for a while), and take laps on the go-karts as well as have a site tour. Sadly, I was unable to attend, as I was *LITERALLY* a mile a way at the Austin airport for my flight to Vegas at the time of the event - hey, it all worked out, I had a great time, and so did they at COTA. With the Quirkies' kind permission that it was ok to share their pics? here are some updates - and I think you're gonna be a little surprised. yes, yes. . the big "news" that came out of it, is that they are still hoping for a 2025 opening, but that there HAVE been delays (mostly related to Covid, and how things work nowadays), but they will give a planned update at an event in January, if 2025 is still in the cards. BUT. . all track for all coasters is on site, and all the flats are on site. ok. .here come the pics: Palindrome is complete! (not sure when it's going to start testing, as I wasn't able to attend, so not sure if they covered that): Circuit Breaker - the 2nd Tilt Coaster in existence has gone vertical - the support for the "tilt" portion is up! and finally, here are the Quirkies (Nick and Kelly- lower right in yellow), with Matt at the COTA site (along with the lucky folks who were able to join them)!

  8. Just put them by the entrance like a lot of people do.

  9. I lifted this off Facebook. The Batmobile was replaced by a Maserati to advertise some show coming to Max. I personally think they're out of their minds. Not that they're advertising, but that they put a Maserati inside a 3 foot tall fence where there is a 99.9% chance it will get vandalized or broken into.

  10. Here is my recent trip report for this park. I attended the annual "Coastin by the Ocean" enthusiast event this past weekend. This was my first trip ever to this park, and to this part (Wildwood) of the Jersey shore. I finally got the chance to get this "backyard" credit (meaning any nearby park that, for some reason, I've never been to). On Saturday morning they had ERT on Great Nor Easter and some of the other rides and coasters on that pier. I hadn't ridden a Vekoma SLC in ages (purposefully avoiding for obvious reasons) but considering the Nor Easter has the newer restraints I was happy to give it a go. Being that it is an SLC, it still rode rough, as most all of them do. But it was a much nicer experience without having my ears boxed in or having to try and defend myself from such. I took three rides on it and rode the Runaway Tram, the haunted house ride and the flyers. Also rode the flume but I didn't notice anything about no single riders. Perhaps they let that slide as it was an ERT. Once the park opened to the public I was going to ride the Doo Wopper but it was down, so I ended up coming back later to ride that one. The only other ERT scheduled for Saturday was the Great White in the dark at midnight. So I went over to the middle pier and rode the Sea Serpent. I was going to ride Rollies Coaster, but due to the OTSRs it looked like it might be a headbanger, so I left it for Sunday. I wandered around the boardwalk for a while and then later that afternoon I went back and went to the water park on the Nor Easter pier. Then I met back up with my husband (who has absolutely no interest in coasters but is happy to wander around and shop by himself) and we ate dinner. We went back to our motel so I could chill out for a while before going back for the midnight ERT on Great White. I got back to the Great White pier around 10pm, figuring I could get a few rides on some of the other stuff while waiting for the ERT. I rode the Screaming Swing, which was pretty good despite its small size. I thought about riding the Sky Scraper, but, knowing it was on ERT for Sunday and I was worried about my dinner coming back to haunt me, I declined. I took a short stroll on the board walk and then came back and sat down to rest. I was watching people ride the Sky Coaster and wondered if it was included on the wrist band they gave us. As I sat there, I started getting kind of sleepy and was looking for something to help keep me awake. So I went and asked if the Sky Coaster was included, and luckily it was, so I got in the virtual cue and wandered around some more until my time came up. Well, riding that did the trick - I was wide awake again, and it was getting close to midnight. I got one ride right around midnight on Great White with the lights on, and I found overall to be a fun and exciting ride. I was worried about roughness, but there were only a couple of places early on that were a little rough but no big deal. Once they turned the lights out, I rode 4 more times, going about 2/3rds of the way towards the back until it got rougher than I liked. I got one front seat ride that night before I quit. This is IMO the best coaster in the park. Sunday morning, having slept in a bit from being up for that late ERT, I was back out on the boardwalk around 11am, when there was ERT on Sea Serpent and Rollies Coaster. I did another lap on Sea Serpent (which is actually a decent ride, IMO the 2nd best in the park). It was nice to ride a Vekoma Boomerang with the newer restraints.. However, I still close my eyes on the backwards part, as for some reason I get a little too much dizziness doing loops backwards. Then I went for the last credit, hoping I'd not regret it. Actually, Rollies Coaster wasn't too bad. A couple of rough spots but nothing really painful. Got the credit and was done there. Then, back on the other pier there was ERT on Great White, which I took a daytime ride on. Then there was the Spring Shot. As some others have mentioned, yet another no single rider ride. But, being this was an ERT, I was able to pair up with someone who was willing to ride with me and I got to ride. Then came the last ride I hadn't done, the Sky Scraper. I had eaten breakfast long enough ago I figured I was safe, and so I went for it. This ride is about the fastest, most intense non-coaster ride in the park, and you can see a long way when you are at the top. Later that afternoon me and my husband headed back home, but, had I been able to stay the whole day, my wrist band would have been good until the park closed. Some other things to note about the Coastin by the Ocean event - they were supposed to have a catered dinner for us, but that got cancelled due to the threat of bad weather. Which, thankfully, did not materialize. But in lieu of that, they gave us a gift card to use for food and merchandise, so I was able to get plenty to eat and drink and got some souvenirs as well. As far as I am concerned I had a good time and I'd attend the Coastin by the Ocean event again. I got my money's worth and then some considering some of the rides (Sky Coaster and Spring Shot) are upcharge rides at most all other parks. I hadn't done either of those kinds of rides in years because I don't want to pay extra for them. I am glad I had the chance to do them this weekend. Here are some random pics I took of the park and boardwalk;
