  1. Yeah I doubt they are doing anything close to the Morey's SLC re-do, but even just tossing on the better trains is night and day. See Riddler's Revenge at SFNE as a regionally close example. Add at least some reprofiling too and we are probably going to have a real winner here. I didn't expect this and it is a very pleasant surprise to couple with the work the company has been doing on Predator each year. I really hope they continue working on the existing coasters (trains please!) before looking forward to any new big capital investments that would take away from their ability to fix the current problems.

  2. Morey's SLC was a very extensive refurb. They had entirely new track made using CAD techniques that weren't available when the ride was first built. It's almost an entirely new ride, and yes, it is fantastic. It rides closer to a B&M invert than what you think of from a stereotypical SLC. On top of the way it's entwined with the water park, it's a legitimately fantastic coaster now.

  3. A couple of years later.... Just bought this thru eBay. It's a wonderful mini of Tokyo Disneyland's Space Mountain, in recognition of it's "Final Ignition." Which will be at the end of July, when it closes for good, and is re-imagined and rebuilt (and moved back several hundred feet), for a 2027(?) opening. When you remove the Mountain itself off the base, the light show can be projected on the ceiling. A very cool souvenir. The box. What it can do. Mine, lit up. Pretty.

  4. Worst visit at Knott's ever, did Cedar Fair forget ride operations or is everything an attempt to sell Fastlane? My sister and brother-in-law visited from Denver and we went to Knott's on Monday, March 25th. Every coaster we rode seemed to follow the same pattern. Load the Fastlane customers, load the blue card handicaps, and then if any space was left; they went to the regular line. My family skipped Ghostrider and Xcelerator but Pony Express, Sierra Sidewinder, Jaguar, and rapids ride all had close to one-hour waits to where you could stand in line for a couple of ride cycles and the line didn't move at all. Knott's also has bars in the park with Margaritas/Tequila prices from $22 to $100 per drink. My $22 strawberry margarita and $20 bloody mary made me almost puke and toss them in the garbage. It was all sweet and sour with horrible generic/well alcohol. Even the chicken restaurant and boysenberry mojito were bad. The employees were nice and you can now tip on the credit card readers at the bars/saloons in the park but $22 for horrible booze trying to hide with a bunch of sweet and sour or cheap tomato juice is not a good combination. The track for the kiddie train is completely gone Eastery Most of Monte's track is gone too.
