WavesDesign
So a few weeks a go a guy by the name of Warren Clark asked me if he could make a 3d model of my intamin wheel assemble that I rendered, with a 3d printer. So I said sure it sounds like a fun project to work on together. Then I started breaking my wheel assemble model into pieces so it would be easier to print. It was a lot of back and forth to get it right, but he got the wheel assembly printed and put together, and it came out great. So then Warren saw a 3d rendering of a top thrill dragster car that I and my friend Camiel Bilser of Coaster labs worked on together a few months back and asked if he could use the model to print. Camiel said yes and so i went back to sending files back to Warren. I thought it would be better to just print the front car so once again I started breaking the model down part by part to get it ready to print. It was a lot of work but we got it to work out so now is the fun time putting it all together so in this post I will keep you update with how it goes. Intamin wheel bogie model and render by me wheel bogie all ready to be put together. the wheel bogie all put together . the wheel bogie all put together . DAT_OG_ROLL
This is awesome! I have been wanting a 3D printer for so long and the only thing holding me back is the price(I am a jobless 16 year old) but anyways what program did you use to design this? Solidworks? yay101
I noticed the other 3D model in the background of the second picture... On the trains, great job and great detail! Tons of little mechanisms and parts and everything!
hillflyer
Really nice! Lots of attention to the littlest detail and it still comes out looking clean and convincingly real.
