Photo TR- Costa Rica Parque de Diversiones

Recommended Posts

My friend and I visited Costa Rica last week and I thought I would do a trip report. We have been there several times and always enjoy our trip there. We visited the little amusement park simply known as: Parque de Diversiones. Most people will tell you when you visit Costa Rica do not waste your time by going to the amusement park and there are a lot of other things to do.

I could not pass up a trip to the amusement park. The park is very nice and clean. The proceeds of the park go to the Children's hospital so we do not mind spending time and money there. Entrance to the small park is about $15. They have two big coasters at the park, two water type rides, several flat rides, a drop tower, two small coasters for kids, and some shows. If I go back to Costa Rica I would not mind spending another day at the park.

Costa Rica is a great country with many things to do and see. Here are a few things you can do in Costa Rica: rain forest canopy tour (cloud forest), white water rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, surfing, fishing, nature tour (birds, monkeys, sloths, frogs, and lizards), waterfall tour, butterfly garden, volcanoes, hot springs, hanging bridges, and the most important thing to do in Costa Rica: relax.

We spent most of our time on the Pacific coast in Jaco and Tamarindo. Surfing in Tamarindo is very good for beginners and the canopy tour in Jaco was one of the best. The nightlife in Jaco is the best and there are very nice places to eat. I do not know any spanish and I had no problems. My friend Ted knows a little spanish and that does help. We have been to the volcanoes before and we will go back when we decide to take a special female friend. Costa Rica is a great country to visit and we have noticed a slight increase in prices in the last year. I am looking forward to returning soon.

I will be out of town for the next two weeks, if you have any questions or comments I will check them when I get back!

Enjoy the pictures (sorry not many pictures of the coasters)

  • 3 weeks later...

Lizards and Iguanas were all over the place in the beach towns. After the rain a lot of lizards would get on the road to warm themselves. At one hotel the iguanas would get on the roofs of the bungalows. It was pretty neat.

Mmmmm, surfing in Jaco. I'm jealous now. My wife and I honeymooned in Quepos, which is a small fishing town/village on the pacific side near Manuel Antonio National Park. Absolutely gorgeous country. I wish I had known about the park before we went. It would've been worth hitting while we were there. Oh well.

Anyway, great report.

As soon as I got back from Costa Rica it was off to the UK and the back of the bus.

The canopy tour in Jaco was really neat, the waterfall tour is lower to the ground and more informative, the other one was very high and had very long zip lines. There were awesome views of the ocean from the top of the trees and along the lines.

Next time I go I am going to go again. They are going to add more elements and it should be better.
