twisterbret Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 On the way home from Holiday World we stopped off at a parking lot with rides, called Camden Park. They have the Lil' Dipper wood coaster with classic NAD trains. After taking a spin around I noticed there was smaller folk waiting in line to ride it. A lot smaller then the posted 48 inches. I ask the Op what the deal was, they said it's not a problem with an adult. Riding the coaster and knowing what the forces were I ran down the ramp and got Conner. He looks a little scared in the picture but really warmed up to it during the ride. I kept check his face for reactions. He has loved every ride we have ever put him on. He liked it so much, he was clapping and jumping down the ramp. I took him on for a second ride. Camden Park was not worth the 63.00 it cost us to enter, but Conner's first ride was. Congrats Conner, your first wood coaster at the age of 1 ! Twisterbret PS I believe Robb still has us beat by a mile http://www.coasterreview.com/twister/view.php?dispsize=1024&album=D70%2FHoliWood+Nights+2006&pic=DSC_4560.jpg&start=90&picindex=95&mode=

AugustVonPolen Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Nice! Greets to him.... i wish i had an picture of me and my first coaster
toddlong Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I so love that picture! As for Camden Park are they still charging to park? I went by a few weeks ago when I was in town moving my grandmother and peeked in. They were stuff getting ready for opening day. That was my hometown park as a kid and while I don't remember it I assume the Little Dipper was my first coaster. First one I remember was the Big Dipper. Dod you look in the gift shop? A few years ago they had a bumper sticker that said "I got caught having fun at Camden Park". Cracked me up cause when I asked the local kids in the family if they wanted to go one said "No one would be caught dead there." Too bad I wasn't there I'd have loved showing you where the elephant pit and zoo where. Along with the above ground pool dolphin show. I have good memories of the place and the couple times I've been lately I just picture what was and try and make the memories cover up the problems. Todd
twisterbret Posted June 2, 2006 Author Posted June 2, 2006 we thought about you while we were there. I thought you grew up around there. They are charging for parking 3.00 The spots are so narrow and the van so wide I was worried to see what I would come back too. Twisterbret I so love that picture! pete4winds Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 That's a great picture! As an expectant first-time father myself, I'm WAY jealous that I have to wait almost two years until I get to do this. I can only hope my child (or children) have as much fun! Congrats to Conner on his first ride!
