Joe Schwartz Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I'm proud to announce the launch of a new website, CoasterMap.com: http://www.coastermap.com/ This site uses the new Collections feature of the latest release of Windows Live Local to map the locations of roller coasters across North America. You can get driving directions between parks, search for nearby hotels, check real-time traffic conditions, and view incredible Bird's Eye photographs. Due to an initial limit of 200 listings, in this version I had to omit coaster locations outside North America, and I also chose to omit the Jeepers locations. This is not intended to be an exhaustive coaster list or a replacement for RCDB, but simply a helpful tool for planning coaster trips. Enjoy!
Joe Schwartz Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 That's me, but you're right, I didn't read the rules closely enough. Mods, please delete this thread.
rollocoast Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 So Joe.... When can we look forward to seeing an update at Joyrides
robbalvey Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 If you're the Joe Schwartz behind Joyrides.com, I can see the moderators maybe leaving this link in. Otherwise, you might want to read the posting rules regarding spam links.. Will, Please let us do the moderating here! Joe has been a friend of ours for a long, long time. Heck, if it wasn't for him we probably would have never started taking photos as he technically bought us our first digital camera as a wedding present! He's welcome to post whatever link he wants to here! Thanks for posting it Joe! --Robb "Your JoyRides site was an early inspiration for me." Alvey
DerekRx Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Wow, Joe is still around, that's awesome! Haven't seen you in a long time dude (since the R&E wedding I believe!) Thanks for doing this site as well, Joyrides was always great for looking at fantastic pictures.
Corkscrewed Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Wow, THE Joe Schwartz of Joyrides fame! A pleasure to be an acquaintance! That's a really cool listing of rides! Definitely very useful! Thanks!
Bubba Z Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Great job , I like the push pin feature. Thanks for the link!
Shockwave Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Thank you Joe! You have just saved me a lot of time trying to plan the US!
CoasterCrazy Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Thanks for the awesome site Joe! Your site is going to make trip planning a lot easier!
WillMontu Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Sorry. I was only trying to help. As I said, if he was the Joe of Joyrides fame, I'm sure Robb would have been cool. I've enjoyed Joyrides for a long time too.
Masked_Maverick Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Woo-Hoo. Whose up for a trip to Dorney this summer?
CreativeForce Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 With this and RCDB it's becoming easier and easier to plan a trip. Thanks Joe!
trustkill22 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I like this! It is just great to see all the parks with a press of a button instead of searching. Thanks for taking your time to save ours!!! (thumbs up and a high five)
rollermonkey Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 That site doesn't seem to like my netscape browser very much. I'll try it later with Firefox.
Joe Schwartz Posted May 25, 2006 Author Posted May 25, 2006 Currently, the only supported browsers are Firefox and Internet Explorer.
