With my TPR DVD (EE) I put in my computer the other night to watch. It worked great!

But now, a few nights later, it won't play! My computer I don't think even recognizes the DVD anymore. In Media Center, the "Play DVD" isn't coming up. Also, Dell CineTheater isn't starting like it should. When I manually start it, the screen pops up for less than a second, then doesn't show up again.

Anyone can help?

If other DVDs work and it plays in a DVD player that I'm not sure what to tell you. It is possible that the disc could have gone bad. And if that's the case just let me know and I'll replace it.

Yeah mine also does that but with my DVD player. The ECO 2002, CEV3, Japan DVD and CEV4 (which are on that blue disk) rarely play on my Cyberhome DVD player. But they do play on my computer. So I dont know if its the DVD Player but any DVD on that blue disk stuff doesnt work. I mean it doesnt need to be replaced, but I think I will have to make another back-up copy.

Yeah, the DVDs were fine when I first got them. But now when I put one in, it doesnt play or it just shuts down. And now, I can only play like the last couple of segments but the first ones dont. I think its just the fact that DVD play is getting old (2 years). I will have to buy a new DVD player, because alot of my DVDs dont play either. It just keeps reading and reading until it says bad disk. I will go to Walmart and look for a new one because the DVD player is only good for CD-Rs.

Hey Robb,

Your DVD's seem to freeze up on my new laptop, with similar results as explained above. PowerDVD and WMP will start, play for a couple minutes, skip a bit, then just shut down. And it won't recover unless ejecting the disk all together. It's like your disks are very "resource hungry".

I have also noticed that I have a similar problem with Tommy&James' DVDs, which seem to be made in a similar fashion as yours.

Normal "major motion picture" disks play just fine. I had to borrow a couple to test, just to make sure it wasn't my new laptop. (I don't own any DVDs yet!)

Here's some info that may help you out in finding a problem. I am NOT looking for replacement disks, since I have watched them successfully on a portable DVD player.

AMD-64bit processor

SIS video with 128M

Software decoders (Windows media player and PowerDVD)

1 GIG memory

SlimType DVD RW Dual Layer +/- SOSW-833S

WinXP Pro with current updates

Need any more info, just ask.

Just for a little bit of input, I've had the same problem with the DVD's playing in computers. It will play the first time but stops after a couple seconds. The DVDs will then not play until ejected and reinserted into the drive. My discs, however, work fine in normal DVD players. Seeing as there's no shortage of DVD players in my house, I'm perfectly fine with my DVDs, but I just figured I'd pass on what happens because it may be part of a very widespread problem.
