CoasterBill04 Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 For those of you who have been to DLP, I have a couple of questions to ask. 1.) What rides/shows can I get POV of? 2.) Has anyone taken the guided your they offer? If so, do you go behind the scenes at all? I've heard rumor that you do. Thanks. -Bill
olimonn Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I guess most most of the rides, if not all of them, you can take your cam with you in order to film the ride. Though, It will sometimes be quite pointless since moste of the rides are indoor, you can get acceptable pov of BTM and Indiana Jones, probably the powered coaster too, but forget SM and RNRC since they're too dark to render out well on a POV. I don't know very well about the tour around the park, but I'm quite sceptic with the behind the scenes part... I know that I read a TR somebody wrote about such a tour years ago, and I don't think they went backstage. It's basically for me roaming the park with an employee explaining you the rides, their storyline, some details any disney park fan would know

Thanks. -Bill I spent 4 days at the DLPR in April 2002, for the 10th Anniversary, just after the new Studios park opened. Being the big Disney park fans that we are, my friends and I tried several times to take a guided tour of the park. The park map says to inquire at City Hall, but the CMs there were no help, and no tours ever happened. We left our hotel room numbers (we were staying at the Hotel Santa Fe) and no one ever called. Wish I could tell you more. Kevin
SharkTums Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 On our last visit we were allowed to take the camera on every attraction. On our first visit to the studios they did not allow us to film on Armaggedon. As for the special tour, yeah supposedly it's offered like once a week in English but we never bothered to check into it.
DerekRx Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 As long as you don't have a light on that will ruin the experience for others, as well as possibly screwing up the animatronics, you're good to film on anything. Just leave the "wedding light" at home. Just remember, in case they ask you to kindly put away the camcorder, please do so.
martinb Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I've been allowed to take my video camara on every ride their, even Space Mountain and Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, they even let you go to the front seat, the staff at DLP are so friendly
Dark Vampire Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 As long as you don't have a light on that will ruin the experience for others I once was filming at Pirates and because the camera I had with me (Jvc) hadn't night shot I turned on the light to film, so a CM asked me over the intercom if I could turn out the light. In the rules it says that you can't film anywhere but the most CM's allow it, so if they forbid you, just try the next day of over a few hours.
CoasterBill04 Posted March 28, 2006 Author Posted March 28, 2006 Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, by the time I read all these, I was back at my place. I posted the question while I was at DLP. So, with that said, since I have an annual pass, I am thinking of going back this weekend (Fri-Sun)... again! Would anyone be willing to join me and maybe we can try to do some POV shooting? I'll know for sure by Thursday if I am going. Thanks.
