dubaidave
I have very fond memories of visiting Blackpool Pleasure beach as a young boy and riding the Wonderful; World of Entertainment ride. It used to be in the Casino building and was a dark ride where the gondolas were suspended from an overhead track. It was later moved to the area next to the Steeplechase near where the hotel is now. Does anyone else remember this ride? I did a search on Google but found nothing. I would love to see some pics of video of this ride. When it was in the casino building there was also a motor bike that you sat on and the back wheel spun on a roller. that used to be my favourite ride there. Adam_C
I DO!! I remember going on it as a kid with my mum, I remember that Sunshine bloke who seems to be the mascot, he was in it, and I remember a clever effect where the track vanishes and you float. It was quiet even back then.

dubaidave
Woah, how bizzare! I posted this topic exactly a year ago and it gets replies now? It was where the Burger King is now, but originally it was in the Casino building. Dont suppose anyone has any pics or vids?
Adam_C
I remember it as being in the Casino building, cos it felt very apart from everything else, it was just in the back of some quiet carpetted room. Odd really.
Simon Baynham
Hi TPR Members I rode "The Greatest Show On Earth" just once. That was its name when it was located towards BPBs South entrance, though it may have been called something else when it was located in the Casino building at the North end of the park. Wasn't it themed on the glitz and glamour associated with the entertainment industry? I seem to recall: Chorus lines of the Moulin Rouge; The HOLLYWOOD sign; Making of the movies with cameras, lights and show-biz paraphernalia... Oscars etc... It was a real mish-mash of a ride. dubaidave
Jusat found this http://www.themagiceye.co.uk/lostrides23.html That was when it was where the Burger King is now. When it was in the casino building it was always empty. I can remember that it used to seem like you had to walk through miles of derelict ball rooms to get ther. I was quite young then
Fallen Heretic
I remember this. Man the memories just come flooding back. I remember it in the family bar in the White Tower (is it now the Paradise Room or is that the floor below?). It was at the back, opposite the old monorail station and next to those little coin-op trikes. I used to ride it there, and the trikes, and take a trip round the monorial while my parents took a break and had a drink. The model railway in the corner of beaver creek used to be up in that bar as well, only it all worked and was in good condition back then. I remember the scramble bike on the rollers as well. Nrthwnd
Hmmm. It looks like it was a great ride, from that one pic that's posted in the link. Definitely something interesting, besides what Disney does with the Peter Pan attraction vehicles in their parks. Sorry, that it wasn't there any more, when we showed up last June. dubaidave
So many memories are coming back now. When it was in the casino building they usesd to hide the overhead rail so it looked like a normal on ground rail system. I was amazed at the point when you seemed to take off and fly over one of the scenes.
