benzo41190 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I got Photoshop today and I want to know, what format does video have to be in, in order to make an animation? Also, do photos have to be in a certain format in order to import them?
ParkTrips Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 You have to use layers - ie each frame is a layer. When you export it, save it as a .gif and choose "animate" and then set the delay to whatever you want (the smaller the faster, obviously)
stew560 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Photoshop can do AniGifs? I always create the layers in Photoshop and then save it and open it with ImageReady (should have come with Photoshop). ImageReady lets you setup the AniGif just as you like it, frame by frame.
benzo41190 Posted February 12, 2006 Author Posted February 12, 2006 No, like what format does a video have to be in, in order to make a GIF. I know how to save it but, if I import a movie, what should it be (Mpeg, Mpeg2, WMV,AVI,DivX,ect...)
coaster1 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Ok, you want a Screen Capture of a video frame right? GIF would be a horrible image, JPEG is MUCH better for images but GIF's are smaller.
benzo41190 Posted February 12, 2006 Author Posted February 12, 2006 no, i want to take a video and make it into a GIF. I have a 5 second clip that I want to turn into an animation. Like i know Wes has done it before with some of his avatars and other people have also.
Wes Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Mine are usually in Quicktime MOV format when I import them into Imageready.
Luxo Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 ^ You can import movie files into Imageready?! I had no idea! I've been making gifs from movies by pausing, then pressing 'print screen' on my keyboard, and pasting it into imageready. Then I press play again and pause quickly, paste that into image ready, etc. until I have all the layers. It took FOREVER!
Angry_Gumball Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 That's what I've been doing all along as well as far as videos. As for animated pix (like my infamous headbanger avatars) I used Flash and created a frame-by-frame animation and exported it as a *.gif. I'll have to try Imageready's importing quicktime thingy tonight.
benzo41190 Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 I found out how to do it Heres are some I made.....
WillMontu Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I find that Animation Shop (part of Paint Shop Pro) does a good job at creating animated GIF files from movies. Did this for an avator contest sometime back.
