DATman Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 w/e everyone's just gonna bash me because I think that CDK isn't a Spidey rip-off.
Spideyfreak Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 What movies are Spidey and DarKastle based on?
shepp Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 What movies are Spidey and DarKastle based on? Spidey is based on Citizen Kane. DarKastle is based on Anaconda 2: Hunt for the Blood Orchid. Other questions?
cfc Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 ^Thanks for clearing this up. And to think that all this time I've thought that Spidey was inspired by Can't Stop the Music and DarKastle by Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. Just goes to show you how wrong you can be.
shepp Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 ^ Can't stop the Music? You're thinking of Mission: Space, dude... Y-M-C-A...
cfc Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 ^You mean MIssion: Space isn't based on Ed Wood's Jail Bait? Boy, that changes everything! Next you'll be telling me that Showgirls didn't inspire Journey Into Your Imagination. Oh, and everybody should ride DarKastle--kinda lost the thread, there.
shepp Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 ^ No, you're right: Journey's first (postFigment) re-do was indeed inspired by Showgirls. As for M:S - I think you might have been confused by the extra-large angora sweaters in M:S's inevitable post-ride gift shop. (Kind of an arcane joke there, but hey, it's off-season.) And yes, DarKastle may not be Spidey (hell, nothing else is, either), but it's still pretty dang fine. And every bit as terrifying as Showgirls. (See avatar.)
BarryH Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 You know, Soarin' was actually based on the movie "Clerks." Since Disney likes to make movies based on their rides, I wish they would make "The Great Movie Ride: The Movie." In turn, that can be a movie called "The Great Movie Ride: The Movie: The Ride."
Spideyfreak Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I wonder how long that would last in theaters

My policy is to never "look back in angora." You know, a DarKastle/Spidey-like ride based on Plan 9 from Outer Space could be hilarious.
