Disney Half Marathon Death

But anyways, for those of you who dont know I ran the WDW half marathon last year with my school and it was a BLAST!!! So sence I wont be going back to that school till next year because my current school sucks, I decided to go up and watch them run the half marathon, 5K, and one person ran the full marathon. But anywho, I saw this guy kinda collapse at the finish line and then try to get back up before he was helped across the finish. It's really sad because this race is a lot of fun and the people who run it are really cool and they were running in near freezing weather!

"A runner who died after last weekend's Walt Disney World Half-Marathon suffered from a congenital heart problem and heart disease, the Orange Osceola Medical Examiner's Office said today.

 

Those two contributing factors mixed with over exertion likely produced a fatal heart beat and cardiac arrest," said Sheri Blanton, manager of the office."

This sounds like an accident that happened at a band tournament in Rubidoux just last October. A kid from the Arroyo HS Drumline collapsed on the field and was later pronounced dead of an ashtma attack... It's sad to see these things happen to young people...
