Homer Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 ... I have noticed the chat function on here has been a bit iffy with users inside. Either it lists 6 members inside when there are only 2 usernames (see attachment) or it lists users that are not even in there. I have cleared my caches/temp files and cookies a few times and still get this problem. Am I the only one with this problem, or is anybody else getting this glitch? Now with British Porn Star idle action!
Louise Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 ^ LOL! I noticed that a few minutes ago, I wasn't in there at the time you took that screenshot! Been doing it to me too, the other day it listed 9 members when there were only 3 or 4 in there. I've also noticed that when I log in, it sometimes says I've arrived and then left straight away, when I'm still there! I'm starting to feel like I have multiple personality disorder.
Hattuchili Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 ^^ Yeah, I have noticed that, too! But it never disturbed me! --Sören
SharkTums Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I noticed as well...I yelled at robb about it, we'll see what he comes up with!
robbalvey Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I think it's just a bug with the chat room mod. It's done that since day 1. The "who's online" bar on the front page updates once every 5 minutes while the chatroom software updates every 5 seconds. So there will probably always be a little bit of discrepancy in it. Most of the time though, if there are a lot of people in the chat room (10 or more) there will show a lot of people on the "Who's Online" bar. Use it as a gauge of approximately how many people are in chat, not necessarily the exact amount. --Robb
phazan Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 if you are away i think it hides your name from the list.
Carnage Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 What I found more was that the chat would hang on me quite often. After a good hour it would stall, stuck on refreshing. I'd then have to close it down and reopen the chat to get it to work again.
