astroworldfan Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Hey Elissa, Can we start a Picky foods post? I have seen several McDonald's pictures throughout.. I am guess youre not so adventurous with new foods....nor am I. I tought it would be fun for picky eaters to have a say. What do you think? This forum is about your experience with weird foods, foods you dont like. What is the your all around ok food (Like McDonald's) that is always a safe backup? If you are a picky eater, this is your place.
Nemmy Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Um, it keeps you alive...actually, I think eating Mickey D's kills you quicker than not eating anything...so there is nothing good about McDonald's.
astroworldfan Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Ok.. on the asia trip..did you try anything weird? My friends keep trying to get me to eat sushi but its not cooked. i dont even like my veggies raw

Whats it like in Japan???
coasterboi Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Their is pleanty of stuff good about Mc Donalds . But i am not a fussy eater. I could eat big macks for england.
astroworldfan Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 Speaking of England/UK, I eat McDonalds when i am there cuz food is so bland. Ronald is very different looking. I have posted below (Aberdeen,Scotland, UK). New Add-on topic for forum: Tell about your International McDonalds Experience--what was differenet. Did it satisfy your pickyness or did you leave disappointed??? (OK OK, you can talk about differences at any chain as long as its from US....like Starbucks, BK, KFC, etc.) AND Tell why you went there. Was it cuz you are picky and didn't like local food or just wanted to be at American restaurant while you were away from home. Same Food. McChicken anyone? Ronald McDonald in Aberdeen Scotland. He's Different, but the food is still mostly the same. I am glad for that.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Would you like to hear a fun fact? OK, Well, McDonalds hamburgers are low quality and made from certain areas of the cow where it makes it possible that the disgusting little McDonalds's hamburger you are eating is pure cow shit. Mmm, doesn't that sound good? Stick to the fries! They are actually good and animal waste free!

So leave your proof-less opinions to yourself. Thanks. And, just so I don't sound like a total jerk, let me say it in a different way. Most McDonald's hamburgers do have a little cow waste in them, it is just a simple fact. It is also why it is very important to order hamburgers cooked well, because that kills all the germs that are in the cow waste. Angus, among other burgers, are not so much as risk because the meat is from a different part of the cow. Now, for future reference, next time you post a comment saying something, do a little research.

You have no references or quotes to support what you are saying. Fact of the matter is the whole germ thing you are talking about is the same for all slaughtered animals used for food consumption. Looks like you headed straight for vegetarian.... Furthermore, Angus is a type of Cow, not a part of it. Angus is a breed of cattle that originated in Scotland...near Aberdeen (Ironically I have a McDonald's Pic from Aberdeen posted above) Germs come from how it is slaughtered, how it is stored, and how the meat is plucked off the bone--machine or by hand. The Breed is irrelevant. Please Check Wikipedia for reference. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angus_cattle . Given that, I think you should do more research. Before you blast someone, please be able to at least back up what you are saying. And this Forum is not about how McDonald's makes their food. Its a picky eaters forum. At this point, we are way off base. Please try to post more around the topic or if you'd like to further the McD's debate...please start another post. Thanks
SonOfBeastSucks Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 You have no references or quotes to support what you are saying. I suggest you read the book Fast Food Nation. It is really an interesting read and is where I got some of my facts.

I might be wrong Dennis, but I was kinda under the impression that when she said "no they're not", she was disagreeing with you that the fries tasted good.... I think you may have ranted unnecessarily. Chill out guys. 8)
astroworldfan Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 Thanks coasterlou. Going back to the original topic, do you have any foods you hate??? Are you a picky eater? Also, I see that you are from Manchester. You a Manchester United fan? Since "football" of that sort is not popular in US, M.U is my favorite team. It all started playing a soccer video game like 8 years ago. I was able to actually learn about European teams, etc. I somtimes catch M.U. on the Spanish Channel here. (Not much coverage in English)

Scaparri Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Thanks coasterlou. Going back to the original topic, do you have any foods you hate??? Are you a picky eater? (Not much coverage in English) But you guys are getting an MLS team now so that'll be pretty sweet! Not to mention you have my boy Danny O'Rourke playing on the team! I wish there was an MLS team closer to me. I just can't bring myself to drive 4+ hours to watch a Crew game. Anyway, back on track... You've done something pretty significant if you can get me to eat something with onions in it without me noticing and discontinuing eating it. About the only form of onions I'll voluntarily eat is bloomin' onions. Those things rock. I also have a pretty big issue with mushrooms. It's not that I don't necessarily like the taste, they just weird me out. I think it stems from always being warned as a kid that some mushrooms are poisonous. Now it has just blossomed into an ignorant paranoia. -Scott "I have a bad gerund and second narrative habit" Parrish
