roeterich
Hey folks it's been a while since I posted anything but I thought I let you know that I'm back by posting a new concert review. Last Sunday evening I visited the last show from the Taste Of Chaos tour that some of you may know from the US or anywhere else on this planet... I started the day at the apartment of Anna, a very good friend of mine and my company of the day. We left at around 2pm and arrived in Cologne at 3:30pm and we first stopped by McDonalds next to the dome, then we went over to Burger King an then we made fun of some street actors that were doing some weird stuff in front of the dome. We left the city and took a subway to the Palladium, where the concert should be. We arrived at 5:15pm and had to wait until 6:30pm when they finally opened the doors and let us in. I do only write something about the 5 bigger bands, because I can't really tell you how the smaller bands were and I do only remember two names: "Bleed The Dream" and "My American Heart". Now onto the 5 big bands in chronological order: Funeral For A Friend: Ireally didn't expect that they would open up the show but they did a pretty good job They were one of the Main reasons for me to come to Cologne. The crowd liked them and they even played "Red Is The New Black" which seems to be very rarely played in their shows. Rise Against: YEAH! My main reason to come to the show. I love them! Their performance wasn't the best nothing compared to Story Of The Year but they really heated up the crowd with songs like "State Of The Union", Life Less Frightening, Blood To Bleed and of course Give It All, which they dedicated to the Soccer World Cup 2006 in Germany. Nice Idea and really powerfull! I loved them Story Of The Year: Wow they really surprised me. They threw their guitars over the stage, did crazy stunts from the speakers and did an amazing performance. Definately the surprise of the evening. I remember that they played Until The Day I Die, In TheShadows and a lot more... Killswitch Engage: they were bad. Maybe just not my music but I'm not the only person who thinks that they didn't really fit in to the show programme... The Used: They were amazing! I can't understand the people who say they are bad life performers. I think they had the most fans in the hall and all in all they did a good job as the headliner of the evening. Take It Away was there first song, really powerfull, and a good choice to take it as the first one. One very funny thing was as Bert (the singer) asked: "Can I Scream?" Of course everybody shouted: "Yeah!" and then he screamend. And man, he can scream as hell 8) Poor microphone It was already 11:30pm we had to get our train, the show was over and we left. We made a little stop at McDonalds and then got our train back to Mönchengladbach. I was home at around 2am. Late enough when you consider that I had school at 8am on the enxt day...^^ Enough said now onto the pics. Sorry for the bad quality but they are made with my mobile phone... Again "4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser" even if it looks like "4 lnisch Wasser". Did you recognize that my camera sucks? It's mot long until christmas... BTW That's it. Have fun with the pics That should look funny, but it doesn't. Anyway, I post it... Midnight Snack by McDonalds. It is really a cosy McDonalds, there! Thats's the center stage. Blurry because it was dark. There was a smaller stage in the right beneeth it, where the smaler bands played. Yes she actually is that small Me and my white teeth. Sunset over the rhine in Cologne. It actually looked pretty good but through the subways window, which hasn't been cleaned in years and because of my camera it sucks :/ The Vines, Anna, beer and the dome... what elso do you want? Prosit Kölle^^ ARGH bad quality but this guy looked exactly like Robbin Williams We didn't give him any money The colognes don't like Altbier and Mönchengladbach because the football clubs are rivals... Me as a real guy from Mönchengladbach has to show, where I come from, even if I get some problems with the colognes... The Cologne Dome and "4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser" Stop at Burger King for lunch. Me and Anna getting ready for the evening with some nice music in the train. Anna with the rest of our beer for the day: 1litre Desperados an 1litre Diebels The first beer of the day; Ozujsko Pivo from Croatia. Very tasty (note even if I'm only 16 it is nothing illegal for me to drink beer here in Germany )

Canadmos
Killswitch Engage: they were bad. Maybe just not my music but I'm not the only person who thinks that they didn't really fit in to the show programme... You are right, they don't fit with any of the bands on the Taste of Chaos tour. I went to Taste of Chaos last Febuary (I think it was Feb...) here in Toronto just to see them. I really don't understand why they were ever on this tour with those other bands... I also can't believe I waited around and watch the Used after Killswitch Engage played, I must have had way too much to drink..lol! Rise Against is definatly a good band to see live. The last time I saw them was back in March and they put on an incredible show here in Toronto. I believe it was their biggest headling show to date, was a sold out crowd. The best thing is is that they played almost everyone of their songs. They played for nearly 3 hours!
Scaparri
I saw The Used on the Warped Tour a few years back and they were absolutely awesome back then. Cool Photo TR. Makes me really excited about going to see Coheed next week.
