So last night I discovered that Socom supports infrastructure multiplayer, and supports a headset. I thought this was incredibly cool, and something I've been waiting for to hit the PSP.

So this morning when I woke up (afternoon actualy. I woke up at about 12:30) I set out to purchase Socom and the headset. First stop EB games at the mall. They were pretty busy. This one guy playing demos on the Xbox 360 must have been on something and he was fairly entertaining to watch. I saw that they had Socom in stock but saw no headset. I asked some guy if they had it, and he went in the back to look. He came back and handed me headphones, not what I wanted. I then headed to Best Buy across the street. I knew that they most likely would not have it, but decided to check anyway because I was right there. They didn't have the game or the headset. I then decided to go to the EB Games an exit down the freeway. When I got there it was empty except for two employees. I asked if they had the headset and they told me that they had just unpacked the box they came in. I baught Socom and the headset and headed home.

the game is fun, but the controls are odd at first. The headest works great, but looks odd compared the the styling of the psp.

Here is the secret to the headset, it has 3 connections instead of 2.

The headset plugs right into the remote control for the headphones. why they didnt make the headset white I do not know.

Dude Socom 3 is awesome. I've been playing since it came out too. Many people don't enjoy it as much as Socom 2 because of the bigger maps because Socom 3 is all about making plans and being as stealthy as possible to eliminate the other team when Socom 1 and 2 were about rampaging through opening fire. But I think a great thing is the vehicles in Socom 3. They have there good sides and bad like you can easily get shot in one. And with no lag and the great online menu with message boards. Damn it's a great game. And another plus to Socom 3 is that you need a credit card (but its free) to play ranked games and to be in clans which means you don't have a damn 8 year old screaming in your ear.

Sounds alot like Battlefield 2 on the PC. Except, BF2 on the PC supports 64 player maps and is probably far larger than any game on a console. Still, glad to hear the SOCOM series actually being what its supposed too and not a doom-like rampage set with realistic weapons.

One thing I have to say is thanks for bringing back this thread and also what I would like to add for anyone that has been following the SOCOM Series:

They will be coming out with new maps for SOCOM 3 and also bringing back a choosen few from SOCOM 2 which I am pumped up about. And if you dont have a hard drive to put the maps onto your PS2, Thats where a psp comes in. What you do is you can put the maps on your memory stick for psp and you plug your psp usb cord into the ps2.

If anyone wants to play SOCOM FTB just PM me anytime: My name is :

Trustkill22

And I am down for a TPR room in FTB.
