CoasterJunkie Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Basically I was a Gamefly member. I live in FL, and the games ship from CA..it would take forever to get my game...Turn around was close to 2 weeks. So I signed up for another company called IGX. They were in Arizona, a bit faster, and good customer service....well they tanked! I recently have signed up for GameLender. Read up on it, but just about all 50 games in my queue had a wait of some kind. Just unnacceptable! So I am canceling them. Well that brings me to the newest one...Gotaplay. They have multiple distro center so turnaround shouldnt be as bad. We shall see.. So has anyone else heard of them? Anyone else have a decent company to use?
zongaboy626 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 i use this and netflix they are both good better then blockbuster at least
robbalvey Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 A lot of people here swear by GameFly, but I've never actually used the service myself. --Robb
CoasterCrazy Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I have heard of GameFly but I have never used it. I haven't used any mail rental companies, I'm thinking about trying Netflix.
YoshiFan Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 I used Gamefly (won 2 free months from McDonald's Monopoly last year) and the turn around time from Philadelphia to CA was horrible. It took them over a week to receive and process the games I sent back. I also used Red Octane about 5 years ago. The thing I liked about them was that they rented imports but they didn't have the greatest selection. Something else I didn't like about them was that they e-mailed me a coupon for a free rental after I cancelled my membership (the coupon was sent to all news letter subscribers). I used the coupon and my order total was $0.00. They charged me the rental fee on my credit card on file anyway and they claimed because the coupon was for new customers only (coupon terms never said it). They did credit me the money for the rental but I think it's horrible customer service to charge you for something when you agree to a total of $0.00 when placing the order (if it was an error and they didn't want to honor it, they should have never sent the game to me to rent).
OzCatter Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 I used GameFly. Way too long from CA to MO. IGX was the absoulte worst. Chose games I might like to play, tried to charge me for games that they said they were lost. Horrible -Cal
CoasterJunkie Posted November 4, 2005 Author Posted November 4, 2005 Well the new company is already giving me hassle...seems they cant get my account activated. Really ticking me off. I just cant seem to find a good company. I used IGX and didnt have to many issues. They gave me free weeks because of things beyond my control...
