memphish Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Whew boy! This first ep was amazing. I hope Stephen and Co. can deliever this much funny every night. Great diction duel with Stone Phillips. Anyway the Colbert circle jerk starts here. "Do you keep your Emmy next to your Peabody?" Name the days that NBC shows neither a Dateline or a
Wes Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 It's on in two hours here. Can't. Fricking. Wait. To ease the wait, I will post this animated GIF:
memphish Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 Doh! I forgot you were over in the west. Ah well, I'll watch the replay with you.
Homer Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 They better rerun this tonight... Oh wait, if you missed it because of America's public education system, its on again at 8:30. Can't wait, Stephen Colbert is freaking hilarious.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I saw it last night and it was amazing. If they replay it, don't miss a second of it!
PhishyBrewer Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Damn! I was at work already. And I don't have a DVR
Wes Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Oh jesus that was AWESOME. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The Gravitas contest with Stone Phillips was amazing.
memphish Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 Here you go Wally. Yes I uploaded it many hours ago specifically for you, then forgot to send you the link....Thats how I roll. Anyway, enjoy. http://brainville.org/files/tpr/The.Colbert.Report.10.17.05.DSR.XviD-ORENJi.avi
nyanko Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 hey you yanked that lao emoticon from SA! colbert report was rad
PhishyBrewer Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 The truthiness is that... it was awesome!
Wes Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Last night's was just as funny. The interview with that Georgian representative was amazing. "As an African American..."
memphish Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 There's nothing to fear but fear itself. Well I'll fix that. Ahhh!
Homer Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I saw the premiere episode last night on rerun, HILARIOUS. I liked the Dictionary rant and the 5 thing threatening America. The potty training one was random and I laughed at when he did an absorbency test with a patriotic diaper. "These diapers don't run!" -Stephen Colbert on 10-week old Potty Training.
memphish Posted October 20, 2005 Author Posted October 20, 2005 Damnit, don't let this thread die! I'd have one as a pet, but we have carpet. It's plush pile. Shoes come off in the Colbert home. Fake Edit: The eagle flying in and out of articles is awsome,... and frightening.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I was a little dissapointed that last nights word was real! But, it was very funny as usual. I will be watching this show every night until it goes off the air!
Wes Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 The whole caramel/candy apple thing was awesome. "Why do you hate children?" Fareed Z. totally ice-burned Stephen with the balls thing. I do hope the jitters go away soon though, he flubbed his lines quite a few times last night. I'm sure once he's settled in, it'll get easier.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Please tell me you found that episode for upload also :?
memphish Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Do you have bittorrent? If so I can probably dig up a link. If not when I get home I'll download and host it. ....Just watched the ep for the 3rd time. I really should change the channel sometime throughout the day.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I think last nights episode was the worst one yet. It was still funny, but not as much so as the nights before. It is still a great show and I remain a fan.
Wes Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Yeah, last night's was the weakest so far, although it did introduce the Leiber character (DAVID CROSS!!) that they had been talking about prior to the first episode. The Daily Show was incredible last night, both interview with the Rock and the correspondant's bit about women presidents. Hilarious.
Thrasher Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I think that so far, the episodes are okay, but it seems like he doesnt have a lot of content in each show. Im sure once the 'new-show jitters' pass, itll be a great show.
Luxo Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Revived! I've been keeping up with the show almost every night since episode one (which is a first for me) and I was just wondering what do you guys think, now that the show has really gained momentum? I find some episodes very stale and/or childish while in others I'm LMAO the entire time. I think I liked Mr. Colbert better as a correspondant on The Daily Show.
Wes Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 The show is pretty much been on KICK ASS MODE since they got back from vacation. Off the top of my head, they've been cranking out LOL worthy amazingness like: - Stephen Colbert's Hiphopketball: A Jazzebration - "I Have A Dreamsicle!" - The ongoing Bear thing - His campaign against the AP about "Truthiness" - Oprah's "Yeah" Colbert has firmly supplanted Daily Show as my favorite of the two.
