TheStig Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Yesterday I got an E-Mail from ACE concerning the Florida Regional Event taking place at BGT. It states that I can bring guests and I wanted to know if any of you non-ACEr's wanted to go (mostly so I wouldent have to be alone at this loser-fest). Its $57.00 for non season pass holders and $42.00 for sp holders. The flyer is http://www.floridaace.com/BGT%20Event.pdf <--- there and if you want to go just post it here. Also, if you are already planning on going post here aswell so we can get a TPR group together! Colin C
SharkTums Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 WOW! $42 for Season Pass Holders for an hour of ERT and Lunch!?!? So having a pass only gives you a $15 discount...that seems a bit unfair!
Guest Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Man, oh well, I will be missing the event by 7 days. I am flying in on the 17th, hopefully it won't be too busy the week before Christmas. Katie, Christmas in the warm weather? OH YEAH!
NitroJoeC Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Yeah I was just going to say the same thing, Elissa. There's no way in hell I paid $266 for a platinum pass to save me only $15 for such a small "event." I can go anytime and get "ERT" on SheiKra anyway (yay for double rides for Platinum Members!). But the guest speaker would be cool. JC
TheStig Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 ^^^Yeah I know total crap considering on a normal day SheiKra only has a 5 minute wait... Oh well Im still going to go pretty much for the hell of it... Colin"We should go and crash it"C

Yeah I know total crap considering on a normal day SheiKra only has a 5 minute wait... Oh well Im still going to go pretty much for the hell of it... I agree. Besides, ERT on Sheikra sounds boring. It simply isn't very rerideable! It's fun to do once or twice, but not something you'd want to ride again, and again, and again, and again. It would get boring. The "private animal encounters" and "special guest speaker" might be interesting, though, or they could totally suck. It's all far too vague to tell!
TheStig Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 ^ During Con this year they had a guest speaker who turned out to be Bob Mampe of B&M and it was really cool to get to meet him and everything! But as for animal encounters, all the animals are tranqued beyond belief so they most excitement you might get is petting a sedated flamingo... Colin"I think all the animals there are dead to be honest"C
DerekRx Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Yeah, that price seems a little crazy for passholders But hey, its ACE and they gotta have the biggest and best buffet possible ALWAYS. At least the Florida region is trying to do events now, unlike in the past. Still, with easy access and cheap passes for these parks, how many ACERs don't have season passes to these places?

This comes from the same organization who also gave a mere $25 discount for SF passholders at the recent Coaster Con :? Sure as hell doesn't come close to the $9 it cost for Paramount passholders to attend CCC. - Joe, who would feel ripped off if he was a SP holder
CoasterFamily Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 This comes from the same organization who also gave a mere $25 discount for SF passholders at the recent Coaster Con :? Come on, that's not really fair. ACE did not set the price that they were charged by Six Flags. It was completely up to SF to figure out how much of a discount a season pass holder would get. The park admission is a small portion of an ERT-related event. In my experience, ACE events are fairly priced and are mainly dictated by the parks. OK, stepping off of my soap box now.
